Remove theme on Jedi ROM - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running the latest Jedi ROM and just flashed a new theme. Let's just say I hate it. How do you remove the theme? I was going to flash a new theme but every one I've looked at says not to if you are already running a non stock theme. So, all I want to know is how to remove the one I've got on.

Cant be done AFAIK. You should have made a nandroid backup before applying themes/mods. Good practise and you have the ability to restore your ROM to its previous state.
Now if you dont like it, you can flash any other theme over it. It will again mod the system files and idont think there will be any problem.
Edit:- Most themers do make a Universal Backup flasher or a backup of the things they mod. Which theme did you flash?
Search your Internal SD for any backup files or something similar.

Reflash the rom?

Applying Fresh Theme

Just curious as to how to apply a theme like Detox to Fresh 1.0.1? And if I want to remove it? Thanks in advance!

I haven't done themes yet, but I think they come as .zips and you just download them to the root of your SD card, then flash them like ROMs and kernels in recovery. Or FreshUpdater can sometimes do it from the app itself, but it reboots anyway so you might as well go the manual route.
I think. Download a theme. If it's a .zip, then do that.
All the themes i've seen have either been a flashable zip, or a Metamorph theme ( they each said how to apply them ).
Make a nandroid backup before applying a theme, then if you don't like it, you can just roll back to before you applied it.

the above post is correct. Most themes will come as a zip you flash them lieka rom. I suggest you nandroid before flashing (as always) the only way to get rid of a theme is to either flash the rom again, nandroid to a previous point before yuo applied the theme or flash a new theme over it (which may only change part of the theme)

[Q] Switching Skins From ROM to ROM

I was wondering if there is a skin (or 2) that I like on one Sense 3.0 ROM, could I download it from the ROM I'm currently running using Root Explorer & install it on another Sense 3.0 ROM?
If so, how would I install the skin on the other ROM??
Just use Root Explorer to put the .apk file in data/apps?
Or .zip them up & flash them in recovery?
Thanks.
Simply .zip-ing it wouldn't do anything without an updater-script. Your best bet would be data/apps and adjust any permissions if need be then reboot

cool, thanks.
If it's an apk, you could just back it up with Titanium Backup. TB will backup system apks & restore them. I'm not sure if this is only available in the pro version as that's what I use. While restoring system apps across roms is generally a no-no, I think it would be fine with something like a theme.
Or you can pull the app with Root Explorer and reinstall it.

Now i want to install my first ROM. Is there a way for me to backup all my apps and my current stock ROM 4.0.4?

If you're going from ICS to JB you should let your phone restore from Play automatically so you don't install any incompatible apps or data. Otherwise, Titanium Backup or ROM Toolbox Pro are both awesome for things, RTP just does a bit more.

You can back it up using whatever recovery you're running. CWM and TWRP both do it fine.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Stay away from that stuff and learn to do things the "hard way" because it will help you in the future. Using CWM or TWRP is not difficult at all. Please learn about your phone and ways to fix it before going forward. After being on several different devices and seeing the nonsense that goes on in here from people not taking time to learn there device.
Read up on kernels, adb, restoring all that good stuff... It's worth it

I use nova launcher and it has a backup/restore setting, where all the apps folders and widgets are placed back where i put em. I, along with a truck load of other members, would recommend clean flashing and redownloading all ur apps from the market. Backup app info to ur external sd. Ull avoid issues with apps not working that way

Nova Launcher Prime is buttery smooth on jedi x9. I never really stick with stock launchers, bought nova prime a while back, i think when it was 10cent apps, and its the first app downloaded when i get a new phone. I use a 7 x5 grid with the note 2, lots of widhets and apps without it seeming cluttered

Make a Nandroid backup using TWRP or CWM. Wipe and flash the new ROM as required. Then once the new ROM is installed, reboot to recovery. Do a restore of your data only, and you should have all of your apps and customizations back.
If this works universally than you deserve a beer for pointing it out

Backing up UI?

Is there any way to back up the User Interface of TouchWiz when upgrading to a new version of a pre-existing ROM? I want my icons and widget layout to be the same as I have them now?
The only way i know of that MAY work is if you are going from TW ROM to another TW ROM.. There may be other ways but I'm not familiar with them.
Make a nandroid, flash new ROM (wipe caches, factory reset, etc based on flash instructions.)
Then go and restore your nandroid's data only.
This is not a guarantee, and also may produce undesirable results.
Also: If you are going from TW to AOSP do NOT use the method as described above.
Worth a shot to see if it works though, worst case fully restore your nandroid.

I use "My Backup" and it will back up everything including backgrounds and ui. Also nova launcher has a back up option if you use that.
