Hi Guys,
This mod is for those of you who like the new Jellybean style Google Search Widget but don't want to wait for JB or mess around installing Google Now on ICS.
I've re-themed the Stock ICS widget, so it's just a cosmetic change - it won't give you Google Now functionality. It's not an exact replica of the new JB search box but looks better IMO when used with the new Sony Home launcher:

Installation:
1. Copy .apk to SDCard
2. Move to /System and change permissions to RW-R-R
3. Move to /System/App and overwrite the old .apk
4. Reboot and (re-)add search widget to home screens

Thanks a lot man, this combined with Google_Now_Remover makes searching on XZXperience a lot more fluent and still matching with the Z launcher style .

I'm working on a custom Z launcher at the moment too because I don't like how grey the app tray is. I'm finding the difference in screen output between my laptop and my XS is making it hard to perfect new designs as what looks good on my laptop doesn't necessarily look good on the XS.
I've tried a couple versions so far and am aiming to release in the next couple of days. I'll update the Icon Pack after that too.

There's already one customized version by niaboc- black and white versions.
I also made one with 5x4 grid for both versions. Let's try to optimize its speed now. I mean, the app drawer is laggy while swiping. Have you noticed?

Yeah I've seen Niaboc's launchers but want to do something a bit different. No offense to him as I love his work!
Do you just change one piece of xml to make a 5x4 grid? I think I found the xml I need to change but wasn't sure if I had to do anything else.
Edit: My App Tray doesn't lag at all... Only lag I experience with the launcher is swiping home screens the first time the phone has to draw widgets. After that it's smooth.

So we can have a Sony rom on CM7

You have to decompile,edit xmls within the apk and recompile again.ill have a word with him but itle have to be cm9,aokp or similar as its aosp ICS and shouldnt conflict with anything from sammy based roms

BTW that developer have build the rom for all Sony Ericsson devices including all 2010-2011 devices(x8,x10mini/pro,x10,arc,play,neo,etc) and i had x10 and his rom was just awesome!!

There is a lot about ICS to like but theres always been small details here and there that have bothered me about it design wise.
I tried to make the theme and clean and elegant as possible with subtle gradients (that DON'T have that banding effect) and less jarring transitions.
I made this theme just for myself quite awhile ago but I hopefully the XDA community will enjoy it as well.
I haven't tested this on any other ROM besides AOKP

Just as a note, there is a subtle gradient in the settings and phone app.
Its different than the stock one since it gets darker towards the edges rather than in one direction.
Its much more noticeable on the phone than in the pictures.

Its all stock, I tried to leave as much of the stock ICS look as possible excluding the things that bothered me.

I can't seem to recreate the problem on my phone. I used to have a gallery crash issue with AOKP in the earlier builds even before I used my them but they seem to have been fixed since M4. I'll look into it but the gallery app doesn't tie into any of the framework, system UI, or contacts apk that I've changed.

Yeah, I can confirm that the Gallery force-closes with this theme on AOKP M5 when you pick out a photo. Doesn't happen when on stock AOKP M5. Kind of weird that it happens, I don't see how it could be related.
Other than that, I really liked the look of the theme. Good job and thanks.

Use "QuickPic" more nicer.
Wow this theme is awesome. The subtle changes really make a difference. I wasn't too happy about the HTC icons when I found the theme, but I really like them. Hope to see it get updated with newer versions of AOKP.
EDIT: The gallery crashes when opening a picture, but I use QuickPic so not that big of a deal for me.

But all it is is a launcher... It's like telling someone on eclair to install the old version of ADW launcher to be on Froyo and then theming it with the GB theme to be on Gingerbread. I thought this would at least be a theme.

I'd like to try this just for a little change but I'm having that issue with the icons at the bottom of the screen too.
I hear it doesn't look right on our phones because of our softkey navigation buttons, which adds a few more pixels.

Set the dpi 300 and it will look really nice.

Copy the APK to /system/app
than install it
I'm currently modifying the app and resizing it so the icons line up, and also adding another home screen row.
Will upload to its rightful place in themes and apps when I'm done.

This is the LG UI3 launcher and weather widget.
Pretty tidy launcher. Has a Honeycomb feel about the widget/shortcut/wallpaper selections. There is also a build in icon changer (only allows you to change to default LG icons)
Also, say you have a Browser shortcut, long press and release and you'll be able to expand it into the bookmarks widget (and back again)

am i the only one who thinks this is one of the best ICS launcher ever?
the animations are great even the hefty weather widget have animations..
some hiccups occur but it doesnt matter.. just need to test the battery life..

this is by far the nicest ICS-based launcher
if you press options while in appdrawer and select show more icons , it squeezes the icons and fits a lot more onto a page. looks neat

found some bugs:
the weather widgets shows the wrong time once the city is set..
and the dock icons text are clipping the edge of the screen..

a bug actually, the widgets displays the wrong time if i set a city.. it's 2 hours faster than the actual clock..
and the hdpi and xhdpi version fixes don't show animations after unlock the lockscreen...

Nope. Settings background are framework depended now. Not in themes.

Auni, can O request something quick? I'd do it myself, but I'm not familiar with those themes.
So, I want Space' Amethyst wallpapers (both touchscreen and home screen ones) with Ruby theme. I just love the red. I'd extract the wallpaper, but JB's lockscreen's wallpaper crop is horrible (if I have a portrait image, I need to select only a part, not it fully)

But if u r looking for the wallpapers only then this the link for Space wallpapers and lockscreen images. Or if u r asking for any theme particular that u want to be customized then let me know again.

Not the wallpapers only. In.JB, the image crop for lock screen sucks, so I can't select a portrait image. I hace to crop it somehow. What I want is just that you pick up the Amethyst wallpapers that are inside the apk, and change for the ones from Ruby (red). The actual Ruby are pink-ish... And I like Amethyst ones better (just wallpaper, I like the rest of the system in.Red)

Can't you grab that image and resize it (on PC), then apply to lockscreen wallpaper?
