Uninstall Juice Defender (Junk useless app!) and turn off HSPA when you don't want it, it drains battery so much!

If your bootloader is unlocked try pac13 or possibly released today or tomorrow the next pac22.1 will be awesome. I'm testing it and it easily lasts 16+ hours of moderate use

You can try reducing brightness, and uninstall apps like juice defender etc. Such apps cause something known as "wakelocks". Just use this guide to find out which apps cause wakelocks - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433309

I've been getting decent battery life with Qualcomm's official app for Snapdragon processors:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app
Also adjust screen brightness, when you're in doors around 25% and out doors more. Generally 25% works fine for me everywhere.
Make sure to check your ROMs recommended profiles for the best battery life.

Any idea why this happens? Also phones keep restarting
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda premium
I don't have a clear idea but I assume that the battery counter on your phone is wrong in comparison to the actual battery % so what I did was turn off my phone and remove the battery for a few seconds and then put it back in and turn on my phone, it usually shows that my battery is lower than what the counter said.
So you mean I have to re calibrate my battery?

Yea thats probably what I meant.
Is it me or just the rom? Re calibrated, but still going down fast. What do you all use to re calibrate your battery

I pull my battery out and leave it for a few seconds but first off I actually think its the ROM and not you, PaanoidAndroid for our phone drains quicker than CM9 so its expected also is this on standby or playing games and stuff?

Its probably the ROM your using that's causing the big battery drain.

I was using stock ROM until about 2 weeks ago. Then I installed CM9 and I noticed a huge difference in battery life. I tried ParanoidAndroid today and it's the same story here. I'd suppose that since it's based on CM9 it has the same flaws.
I read though, that some guys are using CWM patches to "improve" battery life. Worth looking into, if you're not considering going back to stock ROM.
Yeah... After a few days ago i'am using stock rom. And I got better battery life, rooted no cwm, voltage control & juice defender. I have about 12-16 hours.
Compare with custom rom before, I never get more than 10 hours battery life.
But stock rom have less animation than custom rom.

I'm not sure where to check that.
It has been a light to moderate day. But I'm pleased with this battery life even so.
What I am eager to see is if the back half suddenly drains faster. (i. e. This turns out not to be 'real')

Android System at 53%

Why is it so high?
Ever since the last OTA update it seems to be worse..
I have downloaded *but uninstalled* a non market app.. is there a way to scan to see if there is a rogue app hiding?
I can't remember what I was running on a touch wiz ROM.. but I'm using Task650/ktoonzsez aokp ROM and android system is only 6%

Depends on usage anyhow. You should get 6+ hours easily on any stock based ROMs with any sort of usage IMO. Without any of the power saving stuff that is. The first phone where I've never really used power saving option at all

So that you can get rid of any rogue apps/processes that might be sucking your battery. If it still persists - then you'll know that it's hardware issue, not some rogue apps.

He's not defaming Sony. He just said that it wasn't stock ROM, which wasn't true anyway. A custom ROM would have had much better battery life, even on ics.
But things are much better on jb.

Please continue this Xperia S battery chat in the [DISCUSSION] Xperia S battery life
Please search before creating a new thread on an existing topic.
Even if the existing thread is old, it is still better to use it then to add another.
