I'm not a complete noob, but noob enough to not be sure exactly which settings you'd like to see.
Elaborate and I will accommodate.

I'm not sure where to check that.
It has been a light to moderate day. But I'm pleased with this battery life even so.
What I am eager to see is if the back half suddenly drains faster. (i. e. This turns out not to be 'real')

Your juice defender settings

JD is free version just set to "enable" and running at the out the box settings.

A very unscientific gut level interpretation of these results... Based on how I know my own battery after a long history together.... This MS6 build and JD are getting me a few extra hours on a charge.

Why is it so high?
Ever since the last OTA update it seems to be worse..
I have downloaded *but uninstalled* a non market app.. is there a way to scan to see if there is a rogue app hiding?
I can't remember what I was running on a touch wiz ROM.. but I'm using Task650/ktoonzsez aokp ROM and android system is only 6%

Edit: there is an app called carat on the market that will take a few days but will periodically monitor your phone and apps and let you know which ones are battery/system hogs or problem makers

Only thing that sucks is it takes a week to start to get info.. but it looks useful!
My Cell standby usually occupied 46% without 3G.

I was on a touchwiz ROM and getting that too. It made my battery life complete sh*t. But I've been running AOKP with no problem

Do you flash it as a apk?

my T999 has been giving me pretty bad battery life.

80% in one hour. its ridiculous is it me or the phone?

Need more info, my guess is a background app. Looks like you are stock 100%? That's your problem, lol... Just messing. What is your screen time? Click on display to see that... You're in a 4g area so signal shouldn't be the culprit. Your media is #1 user, but why, were you using it?
More like an hour and a half close to 2..if you used it for like 20 to 25 minutes I would think it's common. Like dude said above me we need screen time, also data technically eats battery away faster than wifi just a thought. Brightness is important too maybe you can try power saving mode, don't expect much difference though. Darker wallpaper helps, but most importantly are you auto syncing and if so which apps it usually starts there. Every little bit helps, most powerful phones have average battery life. Unless you start undervolting voltages and cpu that's where you see the big difference.

also, when i try to flash ANYTHING it comes up with an error. any advice on that as well? i really want to try a new rom as well.

Has to be a rogue app. Try wiping the phone and reinstall everything with increments to get to the root of your problem.

Display On

Hey
Whats your average Display On Time with the Galaxy Note II?
About 6-7 hours 50% brightness
A thank you would be nice, if i helped you in any way.
Around 6 hours is the worst I've gotten so far. On average I get ~7 hours+

Depends on usage anyhow. You should get 6+ hours easily on any stock based ROMs with any sort of usage IMO. Without any of the power saving stuff that is. The first phone where I've never really used power saving option at all
Okay Hmm i use Stock

So that you can get rid of any rogue apps/processes that might be sucking your battery. If it still persists - then you'll know that it's hardware issue, not some rogue apps.

What ROM is everyone using?

I was using the touched by an s4 rom but it is no longer being updated. I tried cm 10 but couldn't get gps working. So I was curious what rom all of you guys and gals are using?

There aren't to many TouchWiz ROMs still being updated. ReCalked, JellyVerse, and Project X are still supported.

Im using Revolt, it works smoothly and has lots of features.
Im using ProjectX at the moment, but Im not sure how long ill stick with it. Battery use is horrible for some reason. I can go from ful charge to 70% battery life in less than an hour.

I get most of the day easy... It's most likely one of your apps running in the background constantly. Better Battery Stats will help you with wakelocks. This is today which is actually a bad day for my battery. Your battery also may be getting old. This is SenseWiz but it has pretty much the same tweaks as Project X.
Mokee 4.2.2 hope to upgrade to 4.3 but been too busy today
At the moment I'm using sensewiz..which is a nice mashup with gravy on side with great battery life

I'm on Project-X 3.7 right now. Love it!

What is this little "eye" icon for?

Can anyone tell me what this little icon means? It doesn't have a corresponding item in the notification area.
Is it related to that feature that keeps the screen on when you're looking at it, maybe? Screen shot attached..
Thanks,

That's the smart eye feature built in with the phone on stock or the ROM you are using.. Basically if you're looking at your phone, it will stay on as long as you are looking at it and thus you will see the "eye".
If you want a further explanation let me know. That's pretty much the simplest easiest way to explain it.

One more question.. Any idea what impact the Smart Eye feature has on battery life? My battery life sucks since the 4.3 update so looking for any way to make it better. Do you think turning this feature off would help?

Turning it off could help a little bit. I found that ever since I have gone up to a 4.3+ ROM, my battery life has been atrocious.
