Actually most fake Chinese phone have dual SIM card. But this one is part of a new initiative from China mobile to boost their 3G phones sales.
China mobile is the biggest telecommunication company in China but their 3G mobile phone sales is the smallest. This is because China mobile is using their own "home grown" 3G network. So you can't have 3G with a normal phone, you need to buy a China mobile phone to get their 3G. So a lot of people don't buy China mobile phones because China mobile phones don't work on other network. By having a dual SIM card now people can use China mobile network and the phone will work on other network as well.
Seems all big player went into dual sim production without worldwide launch of their products. This really made me think that the production cost is going to justify for their profit or not.

I have a Chinese Note 2 which is not dual sim.

I'm running CM7.2.0 and while in the settings labeled Mobile Networks, I see International data roaming. Does this mean my phone can/ would work in other countries if I bought a prepaid sim card like Iphone users can do?

Our phones don't have a sim card, so no.
However the Htc Evo international does.

There are some countries, including Canada, that have CDMA signal. That's what the setting is referring to.
Thank you both for the reply.
I'm currently in Israel, and I had a LTE GN sent to me from America. I see that it has a microSIM card slot. If I were to get a microSIM, would I be able to hop off the networks here?

To be honest, I think you are the first one ever, to IMPORT a US-specific carrier-phone to try to use it internationally instead of just getting the international GSM version
a LTE GN from usually means this one: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus_i515-4301.php
as such it is a cdma phone, but LTE requires it to have a micro sim. It has no GSM radio whatsoever. And most likely it is locked to verzion.
simply put, no.
Ha, right. Well I didn't intentionally do this, it just happened that a friend had an upgrade with Verizon and he some how got the Nexus for free. He's using his BB here in Israel so he let me play with it. Its nice to have a solid feel with ICS.
Bummer.

There's no LTE networks in Israel...
...yet. Now that there's this whole boom the Communications Minister caused by getting all the new carriers to join the market, I think that Golan Telecom is the only one who is planning on getting the whole system up to 4G (LTE) when their thru.
In the meantime, though, your out of luck. Even if you did unlock the Verizon LTE phone, and get a microSIM (which is, btw, no problem here in Israel, all the carriers have them), you still wouldn't be able to use it as a cell phone since all the networks here are 3G and don't support LTE.
Damn zombies. Friends don't let friends resurrect threads that have been dead and buried for several months.

Hello all the dev, gurus and forum members!!
Goodday from Vaiobuddy....
I have a confusion regarding Note 2 variants..
In India, GT-N7100 is available everywhere which is GSM...
I am looking to buy CDMA version of Note II, but I dont know which version supports CDMA for all CDMA mobile networks providers.
Please can somebody guide me to a correct CDMA VERSION of this phone and in which country it is available, so that I can get it from there for my personal use with indian cdma service providers.
Cheers to all !!!

These days most of the phone come with both gsm and cdma radio because of 3g.
But I am not sure if you can actually use cdma sim as it is wcdma and I think there would be a difference.
And in India we have an easy portability service so you can transfer to a gsm network.
If it's reliance or tata then it's a different issue buy docomo is a available in gsm as well isn't it?

Thanks mate,
But mine is a corporate connection, thus I dont have an option of migration. Wcdma is wide band cdma and it is different technology than cdma.
Cheers

Verizon (schi-605) and Sprint (SPH-L900) have CDMA versions of the Note2. I think there is a Chinese CDMA version too, don't know the model number. The Sprint version has an embedded (a chip) sim for LTE the Verizon one has a Sim port. They both have an individual forum on XDA so you can probably find specific info there.
Hello,
I just got my note 4 via Amazon today. I was trying to be smart and save some money by trying to use Straight talk service (At&t) on a verizon Note 4 because it was a $100 cheaper. Considering the fact that verizon devices are unlocked for GSM use I thought why not try my luck.
So off i went to experiment with a great deal of doubt if this might work. Popped my Sim in, peeled the protector off and first thing i did was to create and save my APN. It took me less then a minute to realize the harsh fact that LTE was not going to work. Searched the web, called Customer care (like they would actually be of any help) and found nothing. Nada, zero, khallas. The dreaded 'H' is all i get and its annoying the crap out of me.
And here I am now debating whether i should spend a $100 more to go get the att note 4 or send this back and get the nexus 6. Almost out.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE.
Thanks!!
LTE only works with T-Mobile using Verizon phones in most cases.
Uhh if you did your research before hand you'd know that the Verizon version only supports LTE Band 13/4 while AT&T uses different bands for LTE. It's literally listed on the product's page on Verizon's website.
I'll not hesitate to admit the fact that I'm an idiot.

Guys. LTE just popped up on the phone this morning. Straighttalk Att LTE does work on the Verizon Note 4. I can confirm that! This has just made my day. The gamble did pay off.
I appreciate the feedback from you guys.

Att lte ? I just saw your said att lte in your post. That's awesome ! Where did you buy your developer edition ? I check Verizon website and didn't see it there
---------- Post added at 08:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:03 PM ----------
Do they come unlocked to use on all carrier or still need to be regional unlocked ?
Yeah, I've the Att Micro SIM in this device. It's not the developer version, just the normal Version infact. Verizon devices are unlocked right out the box so you don't have to go for the region unlock. Cheers!

Did you buy the phone or did you find it? Just curious if "bad" esn phones will work outside of verizon network.
I hope more people can confirm it working on att because I've always been told Verizon uses different bands than att
Att LTE from what I know should work on band4.

Straight Talk is AT&T and Verizon, it uses both, and I know from experience moving Verizon lte phones to Straight talk, every straight talk phone ends in -A or -V depending on which network is used.
So wat all we have to do is put a straight talk sim in a verizon phone and it will work cause I am confused here straight talk told me I can not use a verizon note 3 or 4

First it has to be compatible, you can go to their website and check the imei. If compatible, you need to go through the process, which in my experience, costs about 8 for a code you need. They also sell kits in the store. Not all phones are tested to work, but many do anyway.
Bit of a cell noob when it comes to this stuff since I've been on a contract for years but I'm tired of paying 90 something odd dollars for just myself so I want to switch to Straight Talk. So if I want a Verizon Note 4 (Verizon is the best service in this area and I need it especially where I'm at) I just buy an unlocked Verizon Note 4 and then get a Straight Talk kit from Wal-Mart to use with it and it's that simple or is there more to it?
Yes. It will work just fine. I've had the same combination for 2 weeks now and works great. One step you will have to do is to create an APN setting on the phone to have working Internet. Just search for Straighttalk ATT APN settings through google. Pretty simple!

All you need is a ATT Straightalk SIM and that will do the trick. Use APN settings on their website to get working data. Verizon Smartphones in the last year (especially IPhone 5 and above) are compatible with GSM (Straighttalk/Cricket/T-Mobile)

Hi everyone,
I am searching the Sony sites and think the Premium Dual is only for some far east markets, for example Indonesia and Malaysia.
Can't find it on the Japanese and UK Sony sites.
I also can't find the different model numbers but will keep searching!
Edit - found these now. E6833, E6853, E6883 (Dual), SO-03H
I am interested in the dual sim model!
Ofiaich
To add to this, i believe E6853 has greater Lte band compatibility than E6833
I'm also interested in dual sim and does the 2nd sim double as sd card?
I'm on EE uk and which model would be best.
Sony UK told me on the phone today that the Premium Dual will not be sold in England.

From another thread in this forum the dual Sims sit in one tray, the micro sd in another.
