[Q] Lumia 900 - Sim error - sim not installed or is invalid

Hi, i'm noob and this is my first post. I got the Unlock code from ATT and tried it with my new sim. I was told by ATT that all I needed to to was insert new sim, power on, and the phone would ask for the unlock code. When I did it, it was asking for a PIN#. I entered the unlock code but it kept saying invalid. I got down to "4 attempts left" and gave it to someone at the local carrier. They gave it back to me unworking and now it says "sim error - sim not installed or is invaid. Emergency calls only. The sim is good and I have verified the correct unlock code with ATT.
Anyone know what to do? Is is a brick now or can it be fixed? Thanks in advance

I think you should use Nokia Software Updater for Retail to flash new Firmware to your phone

i live in Pakistan , i have note 2 T889V version for wind, it is unlocked but in pakistan its not registering any SIM cards or network. please help me what to do ???????? im on 4.3 T889VVLUCMK4 version, please help me what to do, i tried to unlock it by *#197328640# method but no help

We're still missing some information.
Did the phone work back in Canada? Did you buy it online and just don't know?
Could it be blacklisted? (http://www.protectyourdata.ca/check-the-status-of-your-device-in-canada/ is the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association's IMEI check page.) And yes, those databases are international.
What does Settings / About phone say? Is your IMEI still valid? Which baseband are you using?
The *#197328640# service menu unlock won't work on the 4.3 stock ROM.
Hopefully you haven't messed anything up yet. Back up your NV items now.

Or check your APNs too.

Going by his "not registering" vs "no data" I'd say his APN settings aren't the problem (yet).

You will need to downgrade your phone to 4.1.1 or 4.1.0 in order to use that code to unlock the phone. It will not work on 4.3 as mentioned before.

N910P - I have MSL code but no prompt to unlock? please help

Please help.
Goal:
- unlock N910P for domestic US (I have MSL code from Sprint)
- do not want to root
Details:
- account and phone is paid
- Sprint gave me MSL saying it is my unlock code
- 5.1.1
- has been reset to factory and cleared cache
- I watched a few videos saying that I need to put a different carrier sim in and it will prompt for the MSL code to unlock
- I have tired 4 sim from T-Mobile and AT&T, 2 are working sim from working phone... none will prompt for code
- I tried ##3282# which get me to manual settings but I am not sure if I should mess with it
- invalid sim for T-Mobile and AT&T but works fine for Sprint
- I read that it may work with Kit Kat but I cannot downgrade without root

Restore IMEI in the SGH-I747

Hello! Help is needed!
SGH- I747 Android 4.4.2, I747UCUFNE4 without the Russian language.
4.4.1- sews through ODIN, the error came at the end of the firmware and the phone will not boot.
Then set 4.3, everything works, except for cellular communication, IMEI - zero \ zero.
Question - how to restore IMEI or will only service center?

Installed home modem, which originally stood, and restore IMEI. But the phone is not registered to a network, it requires PIN unlock network, although firmware, worked in our network.
Question - how do now unlock?

So the phone used to work on your network and now it doesn't? Is the phone asking for a code to sim unlock the phone?

Once the phone is on 4.4.2, you cannot unlock the phone for use on other networks unless you can get a code from AT&T or buy a code.

Galaxy Note2 GT-N7105 LTE ( t0lte ) - suddenly sim locked again ??? - 2nd try

Hi there, double post alarm sorry, but im only giving the expose and linking the rest to keep it short:
so origninal post Note 2 LTE - suddenly sim locked again ???, as "Droidriven" pointed out, i should have posted this in the appropriate device specific forum from the very start perhaps, so this is my 2nd try:

the History(expose):
The phone: Samsung Galaxy Note2 GT-N7105 LTE ( t0lte ): initially locked to the Austrian Carrier A1, but i bought it allready unlocked.
2013 - root via clockworkmod and wanam light rom - later only minor changes - 2016 - updated recovery to TWRP 3.0.2 and cyanogenmod 13.0 - 20161118-NIGHTLY (Marshmallow juhu!! cool!!)
...suddenly not reachable via cellular network. Still able to make phonecalls and reachable via landline (pretty strange...) - Simcard-swap gave me request for SIM-unlock code
..so from now on no calls or whatever ..no signing on to the network at all
imei and baseband intact - only noticable alteration was unattended update to cm-13.0-20161122-NIGHTLY
-> reverted to stock - didnt help
unlock via free unlock methods aswell as paid attempts didnt either...
dd-ing back old backups: PIT-File and EFS-partition and Flashing original original Stock via Kies...no use...still locked
GalaxSIM unlock says unsupported Model - purchased Unlock code (including unfreeze code) no use....im stuck!!!

When you mention sim unlock code, are you referring to a code to unlock the sim or carrier/network unlock code?
I've never personally come across a situation where a phone re-locked to the original carrier after unlocking with a code or using a free method. This includes flashing ROMs, bootloaders, and modems to an s2, s3, s4, note 2, note 3, and note 4..

Yes, its a carrier unlock it requests... dont ask my why
...but theres a few leads im still up on but work..study..girlfriend...leaves me with NO TIME !!! :crying: ..but christmas approaching i have hope...;P

The quickest solution may be to buy an unlock code from eBay. Unlocking by code should be permanent.
