[Q] Looking for CWM.zip for ATT GN 2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am looking for a cwm.zip file, so I don't have to flash it on the phone and keep my phone recovey stock.
I am looking for the Method 1B.
Method 1B: you can find and download the update.zip by yourself, place it on the phone in /sdcard/ and boot into recovery using the 3 button method, choose the option "re-install package" TWO TIMES to load into CWM. Once again the update.zip needs to remain on the phone. DO NOT DELETE!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/ClockworkMod_Recovery
Thanks for any advice.

Please help.

I'm confused. You want to keep the stock recovery, but also want to replace it with CWM?
As said on the page that you cited:
"ClockworkMod Recovery*(CWM) is a replacement*recovery option for*Android*devices..."

you cant have stock recovery and a custom recovery on your phone at the same time...

Yes. It is a replacement. Though even if you could, I'm not sure what the benefits of stock recovery would be. If its for updates, those can be flashed with CWM anyway.

Cant reboot into custom recovery!

I rooted my phone by odin method . Flashing clockwork mod recovery over stock recovery . And somehow I was able to install Superuser.
But now when I try to reboot in recovery it takes me to stock recovery mode not custom recovery.
I tried both recovery and they work for a while and after some time they dont.
Why is this happening ?
Su is working fine and I m on UVLH2 .
Thanks in advance

Since you already have superuser. Why not install via Rom manager or install twrp
Recovery doesn't stick for some weird reason when flashing through Odin on that firmware

Battery pulls are unnecessary. Delete or rename these.
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
Reinstall recovery with rom or goo manager and reboot recovery.

Thats weird...so you can reboot into custom recovery a few times and eventually it goes back to stock? Or can you only boot custom once then it reverts?
First, look for these files and if there, delete or rename them.
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
Then reinstall recovery and see if it works now.
If theyre not there, good!....well maybe!
Have you tried any other method of installing recovery?
Try using my favorite tool, Mobile Odin.
Free lite version here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
(Dont forget to download the flash kernel further down the page)
Or buy full version on play store.
Download twrp here:
http://d-h.st/pNQ
Rename to recovery.img
Open Mobile Odin and tap Recovery and select that file.
Do not wipe.
Tap and confirm Flash Firmware.
Let me know how that goes.

The answers you got in Task's threads still stand. It's either that you have to update your cwm (make sure it's d2att) or you'll have to use TWRP.
You can also redownload or
cut out a line in the updater script but I don't suggest that.

You need to update your recovery. Either use rom manager or, if you can't boot up, download an cwm flashable zip located at the bottom of post #2 in my signature link. Place it on a micro sd card and flash it in recovery. Go to advanced and reboot recovery. Flash rom and gapps again
Either your recovery is outdated, or you are trying to flash a device that isn't displaying itself as an i747 (d2att). This could be because your using a Canadian version of the s3, or your trying to flash the att Rom on a tmo, vzw, or Sprint version of the phone.

Cant flash new recovery

Hi. Im trying install a new recover with odin. But every try its a fake sucess because when i went into recovery its the samsung recovery and not cmw, but with issues. None of option on recovery work.l, even restart. Ive try it to put a new stock build but it fails :/

Turn off auto reboot in odin ..
Press thanks if you like my work/advice
I was facing the same issue at first when I started fooling around with my phone.
What I did was, flashed cwm recovery 2-3 times and after a couple of times I got my cwm recovery to show up on the phone. Make sure u are following the guide correctly and correct options are tick marked in Odin.
Then you need to flash a fix through cwm recovery that removes the files and prevents stock recovery from overwriting cwm. After flashing this fix, stock recovery doesn't overwrite cwm anymore.
You can find the fix in the forums.

Clockwork Mod not staying

So just picked up a new Galaxy S3 AT&T as my old one had a cracked LCD. I rooted using Odin, boot into recovery Clockwork Recovery, installed superuser and rebooted. Afterwards I tried to go back into the clockwork mod recovery to install roms but instead of CWM I was greeted with the factory android recovery screen instead.. I tried rooting a few times, each time shows clockwork mod recovery but after a reboot it reverted. This use to work on my previous galaxy but this new one isnt taking it..
version 4.1.2 Just got it yesterday.. Any idea?

This is not the AT&T galaxy s3 forum. This is the GT-i9300 (international) forum. Top of teh screen is a "type to find your device" box, which you can use to locate the correct forum.
Or better yet, use the /!\ report button to the top right of your post to report it for a moderator to move it to the correct location.
Lol I did not read your post right :silly:
I do apologize I thought this was the US carrier.

Thread moved to AT&T Q&A.
Check for a file named /system/etc/install-recovery.sh on your system partition. That will try to replace the recovery when the phone starts in case it has been corrupted.
Try booting to recovery with Rom manager.

I've tried doing it this way. I have both clockworkmod recovery and Team Win Recovery Project just now.. clockworkmod works via rom manager but TWRP does not.. hmm booting into TWRP takes me back to the default android recovery
Root phone, install super user, restart phone, download rom manager, install latest cwm recovery, reboot in recovery, press reboot phone, disable flash of stock recovery, problem solved.

(Q) How do I use twrp to get new ota

I download the new OTA on my rooted Note 2 but now I'm like what should I do.. 1. Should I unzip the file first with androzip than move it over to my SD card or just go Str8 through Twrp? Please help out if you can.. Thanks
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Unless they've figured out a way recently, you can't install the actual OTA with a custom recovery, only stock recovery. You just need to find a copy of the stock ROM in one of the forums on here and download / install through TWRP if you want to stay stock, but rooted.
The stock OTA SHOULD NOT be applied using TWRP. Use the stock recovery only or you will get an error. You need to be on Stock, stock, stock MC2 unrooted in order to apply the update.zip.
It doesn't matter where you put it or what you name it. If you can point to it in Stock recovery, it will install it.
