LG Optimus G Pro on AT&T : May 10th - LG Optimus G (International)

http://m.androidcentral.com/source-lg-optimus-g-pro-headed-att-may
5.5 inch 1080p IPS+ LCD display
3140mAh removable battery
MicroSD slot
13 MP camera
Snapdragon 600
2GB ram
IR blaster
Programmable Q button
LED notification home button
This could end up being my next phone but most likely will depend on :
1) Price with 2-year contract - Hopefully its not $299 with 2-year contract like the Note II was when first released.
2) Screen brightness / reflectivity / outdoor visibility with sunlight - Has to be better outdoors than the Note II's AMOLED screen.

Sorry but for $299 is rather cheap. Your getting 32gb internal. Note 2 has only 16gb

32GB and 1850mAh battery makes me think it's really the Verizon CDMA version.
And for that price, I wouldn't try it anway, after sales tax that'll almost be $200 more than the 16GB version I just bought.
was at frys yesterday and they are selling the Verizon version.

I just bought my GN at Fry's on Monday. The $799 price is right for the GSM phone but it looks like the stats are still messed up lol. I had mentioned to the salesman at the time that their site had several errors.
Fry's will price match internet ads tho, so long as the model #'s match and they are an authorized reseller. I price matched both Newegg and Amazon. They had a problem with the Amazon pricematch as it was not being "shipped by Amazon" but there was no issue with the Newegg price match that was $150 cheaper then their price.
Welcome to a month ago...
Told you they would price match.

Droid DNA... wow.

Have you guys seen this thing? I don't like my Note 2 anymore
what are the chances it comes to Sprint? I'm jumping ship when it does!
what are you seeing that makes it better than the note ?
Only 16gb and no Micro sd = useless
plz the galaxy note is the queen
yea, lets completely ignore the 1080p display?
slightly slower processor, smaller screen, smaller battery as well. only real difference is the screen ppi as wellvas what was mentioned above.

We all know the battery life will never compare and as someone on AC mentioned, "I dont see how people on a 2gb shared data plan can use this phone without upping their data plan. Which is exactly why Verizon ordered the phone without an microSD slot."
Sent from my Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
That's a nice screen, but the following are deal-killers: 16gb and no micro sd; non-removable battery; small 2,020mAh battery
Nice screen but I have to use reading glasses to see a pixel on my note. At some point ppi is just a bigger number.
I think I will pass on this. I don't want to get a phone whose company are not friendly to developers. Rom development will suck on this phone.

The 2200mah battery is a killer here. With a large display and everything, its going to the OG EVO all over again.
I come from using HTC for over 6 years and switched to Samsung for the NOTE 2... Guess what? im not coming back... I FREACKING LOVE this thing, every HTC I had would`nt make it over 10 hours without charging and they are not friendly to developers, they are just not worth it anymore specially with the specs for the new galaxy S4 (3 gb of ram :victory... Samsung is waaaay ahead of HTC....
Lmao.. #Never I bet the battery life sucks because HTC phones battery life always sucks..Plus why would you want to leave a phone that has 16gb of external memory and you can add a Sd to boast it up more to go to a phone that only have 16gb? That make no sense plus the GNII looks easy better in my opinion.
Swyped by Me & My GNII
I was aware of that phone before I picked up my note. I came from an OG Evo which served me well for close to 2.5 years so I was looking for an excuse to make a move back to HTC. The reports of the 4g LTE Evo bending is what kept me away from it. The only thing I like the DNA is its 5" screen as I find the note 2 to be a bit excessive.
This phone (Droid DNA) has nothing on the Note II except a greater screen resolution. Might as well get an iPhone if ppi is all you want.
I can't see a damn pixel from another on my Note II, so adding pixels and removing battery size does nothing (for me) except make it less enduring.
No, S Pen? No thanks.
This phone doesn't have anything going for it that will matter in a couple months. All those horsepower specs will get out horsed by the next phone. I'll stick with the Note II and all of it's differentiating qualities.
(btw, I HATE the term 'Droid'. It's a term used by iPhoners to describe Android phones since all they know about them comes from Verizon commercials)
thanks for putting up with this rant... here's some boobs to make up for it:

1080p display on a 2020mah battery
You know how everyone is ranting and raving about the Note 2 battery life? Well imagine the exact opposite on the "DNA" which isn't even as good as the Japanese version, the HTC J Butterfly which is moderately waterproof among other features.

What is that comment supposed to mean, You do know the OG Evo4G was the leading smartphone back when it was released for quite sometime not to mention very successful. If you are comparing it to today's standards then obviously it will fall to the back burner it was over 2years ago. But considering it was pushing a 1Ghz Processor with 512mb of RAM, and 8mp camera with auto focus and digital zoom, 1.3mp front facer that was capable of video chat no problem when some devices that are only 8-12months old can barely do it or cannot do it well. 4.3in display, HDMI out , 4G connectivity, 1500mah battery sd card slot supporting up to 32Gb. For coming out 2.5years ago that's a Heavy weight Belt holder.
And I love my Galaxy Note 2, But this Droid DNA is by no means a Slouch or a weak phone. I would definately take this if it was available for my carrier and the Gn2 wasn't around. And for saying that HTC doesn't know how to build a phone etc, look at the Evo4G LTE vs Gs3 shootouts the Evo with similar specs and less RAM beats it which can only mean that the Touchwiz UI wasn't as well implemented with the android on that platform vs the Sense + Android setup.
With the 1.5Ghz S4 Pro + 2Gb of RAM It will be a contender with pulling and performing. Add in the 1080p resolution and another cool feature that I would like to see in Future devices is what HTC did with the Front Facing Camera. They threw in a f2.0 aperture with an 88degree shooting angle to not only get a wide angle shot in the front but it also is capable of 1080p video. Which correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is a first in having a front facing camera on a phone capable of capturing 1080p video. Now it's possible the 8x may be capable of this as that's where they borrowed the wide angle lens for the front from.

It is a cool phone, but as mentioned, no removable SD, small battery, nothing similar to the s-pen, no type of "multiview". Its nice it has a 1080p screen and all, but that one benefit doesn't make up for it's shortcomings.

I'm so excited.
This is really IT.
I'm a huge fan of the G2 D802 but if the F7 gets it right, meaning, the promised 2K screen, the ridiculously large camera (50mb, WTF?!), some serious processor and getting the function keys on screen instead of the bottom part (which is so old fashion!!) then truly the Oppo Find 7 will be the best phone EVER and I'll lose my freakin mind because it's still not common in most places and I'll want it so badly :0)
i think it's to big, 5.5 screen is to much, my find 5 has 5.0 and it's already difficult to reach the corners..

This site claims a 13mp cam and SD800
Still, it looks pretty decent to me

yeah! same here, i was thinking about getting the htc m8, but with this oppo find 7 i think i just changed my mind... if they confirm that 50mp camera im totally in.
Confirmed specs so far
2 5.5inch displays,one QHD and one 1080p version
128GB SD Card support,
Removable battery,
LTE
and splash resistance
Rumors suggest S800 AB(1080p)S801(QHD),3GB RAM,a mind blowing 50mp camera and LED strip where the chin used to be on the Find 5.
This phone is so going to mop the floor with Samsung!
What for 50 Mpix if details are faded? What for if there is no optical stabilization? And what for if there is no good camera software like in Samsung is (many options, scenes and so on).
I am curious, but a bit sceptical.

Can;t wait. Changing my Find 5.
If I get it, it would be my first Oppo phone. If anyone have inputs on Oppo warranty experience, that would be helpful.
For me, its going to be between this phone and the OnePlus One. Unfortunately there isn't enough info and credibility for OnePlus yet. I am currently using the MotoX, OnePlus announced they will have the touchfree okay google feature, so that's a big deal for me. Custom roms is something I miss from Nexus as well, I know both companies work with CyanogenMod, but I don't know how popular the OnePlus One will be and how many devs will be working on it, so I'm more leaning toward the Find 7 right now. The price is going to be a big deal as well, since I've been used to Nexus and Moto X price and not willing to spend $600+ anymore. I'm guessing they will be in the low $500, but after VAT and at launch date I'm guessing the Find 7 will still be $600 or more initially, especially for the 1440p version.
For the camera, I'm mostly a point and shoot guy. I will use CyanogenMod with stock camera app anyway. I like the app Camera FV-5 if I want to fine tune it. Base on the 50MP samples, it will probably look as good as a very good 13MP and nothing more: http://www.gsmarena.com/more_alleged_50mp_oppo_find_7_camera_samples_emerge-news-7988.php Still, being 8000x6000 does give it room for editing. Fortunately for me I don't really buy phones for camera.

Any indication when this is going to turn up in international markets?
I won't hold my breath, but it would be nice to see an "all band" or at least North America bands that work on LTE.
I don't have LTE on my first gen note, so I probably wouldn't miss it, but, it would be nice to have it.
I'm pretty impressed, but not blown away by the specs. (No stereo speaker and the 50mp photo is software tricks, I knew about the removable back cover, but it doesn't look to have that previous Oppo's durability vibe, the back cover remind me of LG and Samsung plastic.) What I'm disappointed in is why they still keep the capacitive buttons. It's just unnecesary and make the phone larger than it is, which is the same issue with how large with both the HTC One are. I knew about the 5.5" screen and was anticipating the large size, but I was hoping they could squeeze it in a tighter package like how the Moto X managed.
It's actually about the size of the Note 3, I wasn't signing up for phablet size. After drawing the dimension of this phone on paper and super imposing my actual Moto X on it, which is roughly 1inch shorter and 1cm thinner, I think I will give this phone a skip. For those who can deal with Note 3's size, it's going to be a great device.
HTC One 2014 while having that HTC logo bar, still have a manageable size, so I might be interested if they have a Google Play edition, but probably not because it'll probably be overpriced like the current one. But also the HTC One is predicted to have 16MP camera, so suddenly the Find 7 isn't so impressive.
M8: 146 x 70.5 mm
Note 3: 151.2 x 79.2 mm
Find 7: 152.6 x 75 mm
Good thing I still have the OnePlus One to look forward to. I don't know, maybe one day I'll feel I can deal with the size.

OPPO give a 2 year international warranty. The QHD is $570 in China, so by the time it hits Amazon were looking at $599. Considering Note 3 32GB is $749,id say its a good deal, and it'll come with the O-band jogging accessory whereas the Note's fitband is sold seperate.
The 50MP snaps are really good, packed with detail, and there's no hump yaay. I'm eyeing the black carbon fiber F7,the way the phone looks its the same sturdy unibody of the Find 5 but you can lift the back cover.
I'm also watching oneplus, especially after talk of price < $400 and the 1080p Find 7 is $499 I want to see how much was shaved off.
I think i get one
And see what can i do with it ^^
Nice spec !

Asus Zenfone Zoom Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A

I'm not sure which to buy in future and my contract runs out in August...
Now about my trouble... I love the S-Pen of the note and the crisp OLED display but i need a camera for food shots also in low light conditions
Each phone has its own highlights.
Zoom:
- 4Gb RAM (DDR4?¿?)
- the optical zoom, dual LED flash light and this lowlight brightening + HDR
- Intel Atom Z3580
- 1080p IPS
Note 4:
- 1440p OLED
- S-Pen
- Snapdragon 810
- 16 MP with 4k capability (heartbeat sensor)
I don't know which to buy because I'm not aware oft the camera quality of the zoom.
I need your guys' opinions ^^

Well , if u ve a lot of money , note 4 is the best
$399 ? Phew . the best bang for your buck lol
I am personally movin away from Samsung.. Mine is giving me quite a lot of crap so my biased opinion is to go for the Asus Zoom or another phone.
There are quite a few decent phones coming out soon it seems - Xperia Z4 & LG G4 are two others which have my attention and are an option as well.
Have you considered not photographing food?

Question Is this the right one?

Hi.
Is A52s 5g the right one for me?
I have... $526.82 avaiable to buy a new phone.
Needs? well... 256gb of storage, good cameras with no drawbacks, good bright screen, nice battery, aceptable to fast charging and having signal everywhere(5g, good quality calling etc. Samsung and apple in the countries i go mostly, are the most supported brands)
Oh and good os support.
IS a52s 5g the right one? Many told me about s21 fe(sd 888 version) but I heard goods and bads about it. But the two big plus there for me are no pixel binning and ip68 rating.
Thank you for your time and fingers crossed for this post to be accepted
I personally got the A52s 5g 128gb version in Greece for around 250 euros excluding tax and it has been amazing. I got it in April 2022. Since then I have only had 1 problem and it has been about the build of the device. It was that around the volume and power button area the back plastic and frame are separated.

eyyyyyyyy I live in Greece too. Lovely places, lovely food... people...
If we use a scale from 0 to 10, how would you rate your camera experience? I don't expect doing papades with the phone but it's good quality day and night? Not expecting much with taking video.
Charging time around 1.30hour?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand last but not least: I was able to edit and render 2k and 4k videos on snapdragon 690. Guessing that snapdragon 778 runs smoothly ?
The cameras are very good and performance is amazing* I haven't tried rendering anything on the phone but from the games that I play it is really good. The performance in GPU intensive tasks is not the best. If you see in the developer options there is an option to show CPU and GPU stats on screen and the CPU is at around 50 to 80 percent usage when the GPU is maxed out. Overall the performance is great with that exception. I also don't know how the 8GB of ram model performs but I would guess that it isn't that different.
With that just get the s21 fe both camers are goodd if you buy a52s download gcam
