[Q] Stock HTC One browser working on Xperia ZL? - Sony Xperia ZL

The simple question is, does the stock HTC One browser works on the Xperia ZL?

Does quick controls works?
Does Flashcontent works?
Does textreflow works (at pinch to zoom)?
I hope so, because I don't like Google Chrome that's on the Xperia ZL...
Haven't got a ZL myself, I am waiting on the white 6503 version that's coming this week.
If it's not working I have to use this: Stock Browser (non chrome)
Thanks!

Flash, textreflow work on the stock browser I posted.

But if this works with just one .apk without rooting an tweaks it's much easier!

I get app not installed when attempting to install apk. Non-rooted.

you also need the odex file of stock browser too, since the one out there is pure stock browser pulled from HTC One, but seems like he did not include odex file.
so, means you should have, as example, browser.apk and browser.odex, once you have it, just copy them to System/app folder and reboot.
I am, myself, looking for HTC One stock deodexed ROM, but considering it is quite new, developers have not start developing anything on it yet...
Edit: I found HTC One stock deodexed ROM already posted. go here, download HTC One stock deodexed ROM, unzipped and find HTC one stock browser, and use that one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752
report back, if that one works.

And should the .apk from this phone work just as simple as installing an .apk?
In this movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcItXcUgiEs&feature=youtu.be
of a Canadian user of a 6506 model of the Xperia ZL, you see 'browser' at 00:50:
{

}
So I've asked which browser it was:
Which browser is 'browser' that you've showed?
From Google Play? Otherwise a link to an .apk? Thanks for the video!
He answered:
Its the stock browser that comes on the phone - The AOSP Browser - Sony includes it on the Phone.
I've asked:
Wait, whut... :s
On the XDA-forum there is said that it isn't...
Do you have a branded version of the 6506? Provider-software?
Thanks!
Answer:
Phone is completely stock
It's Bell Mobility Version in Canada - Model C6506 - Bought without contract.
To be honest, Chrome works better on this phone than my Note II or any other phone I've owned in the past -
so I usually use it. I made this video the day I got the phone so I hadn't configured or used it more than 4-5 hours.
I'm sure any AOSP apk would work though - XDA should have it.
I WANT IT! No sh#t with rooting, just an .apk Somebody that can provide it? :fingers-crossed::victory:

Wow that's great man, i was looking for something like that ...

I've been playing with it since I found it on the S3 forum earlier on Slim ICS and it works but if you exit and then go back into it you get S-Voice is not responding. If you clear data it's all good to go again so it's fun to play with. It'll probably work better on Samsung ROM's but was surprised when I managed to use it to call home and was going to text my mum as a test.

It probably has some missing dependencies which is why it isn't speaking responses. I don't have the issue with taking too long between commands but as I said in my first post, it doesn't like being closed and opened again for a second time on mine.

Polaris office

Hi, I am running paranoid android jb version, and want to get polaris office back. I've got the apk already, but I read somewhere else that I would need libnativedocviewer.so into /system/lib. Can someone help?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Are you sure you need libnativedocviewer.so ? Have you tried installing apk without this lib? If not, try to do so. If Polaris won't work without lib, install attached zip using recovery.
Thank you. I have flashed it using recovery. Unfortunately, it still crashed when I try to run it. Does it only work on sense ROMs? Can I run it on cm or aosp?

You need these libs. unzip the attachment and copy the libs to /system/libs and change the permisiions to RW-R-R then install the polaris apk that you have. I do this on every rom i flash and i never had any problems. Currently running CM10 with no issues
Please note - This is NOT flashable in recovery
Hope this helps

Odd... I have copied the libs and then the apk, then changed permissions but polaris still crashed when opened. Any ideas? Could you explain how you did yours?
Edit: Okay, maybe there is something wrong with my apk. Just so that I am not wondering, I gonna try going back to stock ROM to extract Polaris's apk. But, can someone point me to an instruction on how to extract boot.img from a nandroid backup?

Exact, just PNG changes in the mms.apk., should work without problems in odex Roms... MMS.apk are about the same from Telus or TMO, i used both of them on my recent Roms and didn't notice any changes between both version.
Try this one, just make a nand before, if there's any problems you can go back. if it doesn't work i'll modify a tmo one for you!

[APP] Google Now 2.1.12.516912 • 10/29/2012

Google Now 10/29/2012 update
I was having trouble finding the stand-alone Google Search apk, so thought I'd post it here for anyone else.
I had a modded Google Now (Google Search, or QuickSearchBox.apk), and wasn't able to update from the play store.
Recommended Installation (if you fall into the category above)
• Back up your current version (Google Search) with TB
• Uninstall your current version
• Install this apk normally
*I used adb install, but should work just by running it.
• Enjoy all of the new features
Download
Google Search 2.1.12.516912
Note: This is an unmodded, Google apk. I'm just posting it (might mod at a later time).

Running on an LG P500 is a ARMv6 device. Runs fine as long as I do not touch its mic icon. When it tells me there is an update, I of course cannot get it because it is technically not compatible with this handset. I can only side-load it.
So could you post the latest and greatest apk (probably Dec 10)?
Also, what might it take to either:
Get rid of its mic icon since it crashes it. Using another widget with its own icon!
Or ... get it to connect to the older online voice which will work just fine.
Thanks!

Strange. Probably we have different flashing archives, cause I didn't delete AOSP keyboard. After the L keyboard flashing I simply chose it as a default disabling AOSP one in settings.
Is root required? If it is, I'll just root this baby but figured I'd ask anyway haha

This archive is meant to be flashed via CWM or TWRP recovery. Not the stock one. I guess you can search the web for genuine .apk and try installing it as a usual app.
