I have tried everything from flashing new Clockworkmod recovery to going back to original nothing takes.
Clockworkmod recovery v5.8.1.5 will not go away
and when I try to install ROM I get
symlink: error in /sdcard/romname.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
does anyone have any ideas?
Are you S-Off or do you have an unlocked bootloader? Have you relocked? What ROM are you trying to flash? Where are you getting your recovery? How are you trying to flash it?

Status 7 usually refers to a bad download or a wrong device Rom. Check that the rom you are flashing is the right for your device and that the md5sum is correct.

Okay, just rooted with Odin, have CWM v6. Everything went fine, rooted fine, running stock rom.
Went to flash CM 10.2 Nightly, got assert error.
Used Odin to flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41503727&postcount=13716
That was supposed to update my bootloader. Flashed successful, "PASS" from Odin.
Pull battery, start CWM, wipe data. try to flash CM 10.2 again, and get:
E: Error in /emmc/cm-10.2-20130927-NIGHTLY-d2att.zip
(Status 6)
Installation aborted.
What do I do now?
It lets me install 10.1 just fine.
What version did u update from? The link u posted is lk3, the newest is ucdmg2...

the flashing script might have been modified afterwards by a UNIX-incompatible editor, which makes it unreadable by Android.

I installed probam(4.4.2) rom on my phone about a week ago, was having trouble with it so i tryed to wipe everything and install Skynote Air Rom (4.3). but everytime i go to install i get
"installing update..."
"format() expects 5 args got 3"
"E: error in /storage/sdcard1/Roms/Sky_Note_Air.zip"
"(status 7)"
"installation Aborted"
so after that failed i tried odin to go to complete stock firmware and re-root and get CWM recovery and now its just running stock
Now i have done a little Research but im getting mixed answers, some say its the recovery, but others say its because i need to re-partion my phone.
tried philz recovery, and TWRP but both with same error
If it needs re-partioning how would i go about doing it without bricking my phone
any help would be very appreciated

...hello there...I suggest this steps...
1) check if your phone is rooted correctly (use GalaxyNote2Root)
2) flash Philz recovery over Odin (use philz_touch_6.02.1-n7100)
3) Try with some custom ROM that have Aroma instalation like (use Sotmax_Ultimate_Stock_V14_XXUEMK4_HD_AR)

Try to adb erase cache, re-install recovery by adb. Make sure it the current TWRP version, or try Philz. This is a known issue on TWRP, and not uncommon.
I was trying to flash Cynogen Mod 12 and my phone gave an error as this package is for device: a5,a5dug,a5dwg,a5chl,a5ul; this device is htc_a5dug.

Installation aborted.
After restarting it got bricked and it is stuck on HTC logo.
I tried flashing other ROM and also the Stock ROM as i can use CWM or TWRP on my phone and also can use fastboot.
But i get the same error everytime i try to flash any ROM. Please Help. Its been a day my phone is bricked.

Yes i did a full wipe !
That file seems to be cm11. Not cm12.
If you can use a custom recovery.. I would grab the newest cm12 nightly for the A5.
Then download the gapps from Cyanogen..
Fresh wipe.. Flash cm12 nightly.. Try and reboot.. Then flash gapps..
