Hello, I ask all those who have an Xperia ZL if you can give me confirmation of the effective presence of the Pressure Sensor (barometer) you can check this by simply entering code * # * # 7378423 # * # * in the phone keypad then select Service Tests and then scroll up to pressure Sensor and press on it if you give a number of pressure this will mean that your device has the barometer.
Are pegati to leave commeti all users who have a Xperia ZL although it seems that Sony has placed on the paper that the pressure sensor C6502 model only as stated in this press release link: http://dl-developer.sonymobile.com/documentation/whitepapers/Xperia_ZL_HSPA_C6502_WP_5.pdf
I ask this information is not reliable prendedo this document because I downloaded the system dump of the Xperia ZL C6502 model but I have not found evidence of such a sensor.
This is why I kindly ask you if you can inform me of the actual presence of the pressure sensor on the Xperia ZL specifying the model you use (type C6502/C6503/C6506).
Thank you very much for your comments.
my c6503 does not support this after doing as you described.
Neither does the C6506.
Sent from my C6506 using xda app-developers app
Mine's c6502, but it says 'The device does not support the function' when I pressed the Pressure Sensor option.
Thank you all (Psycownage, darkjedi, Ato_7) for the test that you did I will respond with a single comment.
So from what I see from your test all models of Xperia ZL do not support the pressure sensor if it was likely on the C6503/C6506 models was less on the model C6502 document from Sony as it should have.
I had come to suspect that not even the C6502 model had the barometer because in his rom there were the necessary files.
Now it remains to see if it is a momentary lack software or hardware failure, I am inclined more to the latter.
Again thank you very much.
c6503
not support
my C6502 not support this function

It seems that Sony has removed the document that showed the presence of the barometer in fact as you can see the page is no longer available.
It also seems that Sony has released a new page where you are not longer reported the presence of the barometer also on the C6502 model.
Too bad Sony correction too late!

Hey guys i need to choose between the xperia s, acro s and the ION. Which is the better phone to get? I am more leaning towards the acro s. I have seen the xperia s has focus issues with the camera.
My main use is for messaging and taking pics and surfing forums. Which will be better?
Acro S = S + micro SD slot ... that's all. Whatever issues do you see with harware/software on one, you will see exactly the same on the other also.
Both are newer than ION. It is just a matter of taste.
The S has better development support for non stock software, roms, kernels. If you can get one that has unlockable bootloader.
Sent from my LT28i using xda app-developers app
has anyone fixed the focus issue with the xperia s? I looked at vids and saw the acro s camera somehow performed way better. I want a micro sd slot so i guess the acro s might be the choice.
If I were you :
Xperia ion
Reason :
Sd card slot

I would have said the ion but due to the lack of major development(kernels&bootloader unlock) I said the S.
I have never had any picture or video issues with the camera or auto focus.
My only complaint is battery life. But I think that's everyones issue with smart phones.

This had been discussed at length for the ion, search for the thread.
The only option for changing unlockable to yes is by the Sony signature server that has been off line for months.
There is also a thread for tearing down the ion, search for it.
I was hoping for a test point method as well but no joy yet.

It does NOT open the same as top cover.
To remove bottom back cover, not the SIM / sd cover, start at a corner with thin plastic or finger nail, working it open from corner to the slot in middle. Careful if you start in middle it is harder to open.
The test points are in the corner by arrow. If you follow the disassembled pics from this thread, you will see the contacts on the board.

I easily removed my bottom cover with my short finger nail. Don't go for that center recess.
Starting at a corner and then the other corner it comes off easily, at least for me. Finesse, not force is the key.

As lots of you have seen, the lt28at is really cheap on Amazon and eBay (around $250 unlocked) and I'm thinking about buying one as a replacement for my aging HTC Desire.
What do those of you with one think? Is there another phone in that price range that's better? Are you happy with it? It seems the best phone in that price range.

Im happy with my ion(got it on ebay), good screen, good perfotmance, decent camera. Got a few issues with it though: my camera lens got scratched to the point i couldnt take pics, so i had to do a fix( I used my N95 lens as replacement, works great now), no unlockable bootloader means fewer custom roms. Other than that id say its a good bargain.

before buying the ion, i really expect this to do much more and much better compare to my previous x10. However, i was so disappointed..
if you want a phone that takes good pictures (good clarity and color), don't take ion;
if you want a phone with good wifi, don't take ion;
if you don't want a phone to randomly shut down the apps you are using without noticing, don't take ion
all of the above essential points to me are not presented in x10, so i am very not happy about the ion
i recommend you just wait for ion's jelly bean review. its ics build is definitely one of the worst if not the worst comparing to samsung/htc/LG's except for the look

choosing ion
I got my Ion on on ebay for $200.00 it's locked to AT&T so i can't use any custom roms, but i am waiting for the JB update hopefully by end of March and or April. What i did do to make my Ion more snappy is of course root it, install CWM, V6 supercharger to decrease lag, use a deodex L28H rom. I do use my S3 as my primary phone for work, but i just love Sony's look when it comes to the phone design. The Ion is a good not great phone but you just need to "tweak" it a little with mods for now to make run a little better, XDA is a great place to check to do just that!
PS. waiting for the ZL that will be my next Sony Xperia!:good:

I've been using an LT28at initially on AT&T then on T-Mobile for a total of 3 months. I previously used an X10 and a Nexus One.
In the U.S., the largest factor for me to have an SIM unlocked ION was its radio. AWS HSPA and LTE bands are covered. Granted LT28at's bootloader is locked and you can't try custom roms or custom kernels. But if you compare the ION with X10, Nexus One or HTC Desire, processing speed alone should feel a big improvement. Sure I love X10 (I still have one) and I personally think X10's push buttons are still better than ION's touch panel buttons. But ION is pretty good, and you won't be disappointed if you switch from HTC Desire.
It looks like I might get the lt28at. I know the bootloader is locked with little hope of that changing, but is it possible to load custom ROMs with the stock kernel?

You can load cwm without any problems. I believe it is another mode( dont recall what its called right now) which the 28at cant go to which is necessary for bootloader unlocking( i tried). There is a guide o how to install cwm on the ion. You can also flash the generic 28h or i firmwares on the 28at without any issues.

If you have warranty on your phone, then you can just replace your phone by this similar (call to the Sony support about your wishes) or repaired.
In other situations you don't have other ways to repair or get same but newer.
My phone is out of warranty the warranty expirwd on 10/04/2013 so great.....
But if anybody has a good supplier for parts of this phone, then let me know... I can replace, but it is about 100$...
