Okay first off, my situation. I'm on CM 6.1. I'm using SMS notifier.
I have disabled the messaging notification on the stock messaging app.
Now my problem:
This just recently started occurring. My messages are being notified TWICE.
My sms notifier is notifying me, which is fine, but my regular messaging app is also notifying me. I've disabled it already, MANY TIMES, just to be safe.
Any suggestions?
Chomp updated their texting app on Feb 19th to fix the force closing when trying to send a MMS if you are using Jelly Bean. Handcent and GoSMS still haven't figured out how to fix it so if you don't like the stock messaging app install Chomp.
One of my favorite features other then actually being able to send a text to Contact Groups I set up it delayed sending, for those times when you accidentily replied to someone. Set the delay for a second or two and it gives you time to hit stop if you realize you really didn't want to say that or send that to someone.
I'm going to start off with some background information. I have been using the SMS app Handcent for a little while now, and it has been giving me a lot of trouble with MMS messages with them not sending nor receiving, whereas the stock messaging app could receive them.
Alright, and now we are into where I screwed up... I read that if you made the stock messaging app a user app and handcent a system app, then the permissions will correct and I would be able to send/receive the MMS messages. However, when I made the stock messaging app a user app, it deleted itself. I figured it wouldn't be so bad after I got handcent to work, but handcent still doesn't receive/send MMS messages, and I have no way of sending/receiving them because the stock messaging app got deleted. So, I was wondering if there was a way to get back my stock messaging app for Android 4.1.2. If anyone could help me fix the handcent thing as well, that would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ahead of time!
I have searched this topic up and down and can't seem to find a straight answer. I have a toroplus GNex that is currently on Beanstalk (but this problem has persisted across multiple clean flashes of carbon and vanir as well) if I select Hangouts as my sms app I Ann able to send and receive sms and send mms but when trying to receive mms hangouts FCs. it continues to FC while the message truss to redeliver itself until I clear app data and switch sms off in hangouts.
I have tried everything I know to help myself with this. I have fully uninstalled the app, cleared caches and installed from market, tried freezing stock messaging app, etc.
so my question is, is this across the board for toroplus users? or threads have slowed to a crawl since the n5 release and no one had mentioned this big that I've seen.

Have been using ChompSMS free version for over 6 months now. So far, it has been working fine, until a few days ago. It simple stopped sending SMS with an error message - message not sent - and a red exclamation mark. I can receive SMS, but not send them at this point. The deafault sms messenger is working fine, though.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Go into settings- apps- and clear the data on ChompSMS - I use handcent and it is working fine...
Clearning data did not help. Only reset my custom settings for chomp sms.
i have the same problem and I messaged them about it too. They emailed me back.

Hi there,
Sorry, it's an Android bug, we can't fix it at present (but are trying very hard!). We cannot track it down, if we did we'd fix it. It's a bug that shows in Android code caused by something in our chompSMS code, but given it's 5 million lines of code, it's not exactly easy to find.
We'll keep looking. Once fixed we'll update chomp ASAP.
Can you try our sister messaging application Textra SMS for now please.
Appreciate your understanding!
Jason - chompSMS Team
Interestingly, I just had the same problem with Textra, with the exact same symptoms. I could receive SMS, but not send. It would pretend to, then issue a notification a few minutes later saying it had failed. This would lend credence to it being a problem at the OS level.
Not sure what the deal is, though. I was using Textra on CM11 with zero problems on my Skyrocket.
