How do I get Better Caller ID Pictureson S3? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Im using the Avatar ROM on my S3 and i want ot get better pic on the caller ID. I was wondering if there was a way to get a better picture without having to instal a 3rd party app. I have been using gmail contacts to add pics but when anyone on the list calls the pictures are not really sharp.

My pics come in sharp maybe it's how the pic was taken and I'm stock

It is a good suggestion but does not answer the OP's question. Will this program overwrite the contact pictures from Google to Facebook?

Exactly -- I already have Facebook pics tied to my contacts -- the question is how do I force the phone to use them as the primary pics? HTC does this already...
Go to a contact hit menu then set as default then you can select which image is the default. Facebook contact sync does this automatically

HaxSync will do this for all your contacts. If it misses some, you can go in and manually join the contacts. The other nice thing about HaxSync is that it will use hi-res pics instead of the lame low res default.

Just grabbed this and will try -- yay for leftover Play Store credit from my Nexus 7!
Update: Looks like that worked -- and the pics look much better!

[Q] Is there any JB Rom that can successfully sync Facebook contact numbers?

Hi there, Facebook syncing is a feature that I miss from a custom ICS rom I used to have. I read somewhere that there might be JB Roms that support this feature but I haven't been able to find one, so before I give up I want ask you directly.
Now before you answer make sure to read this, what I am truly looking for are the numbers and not anything else, so please don't redirect me to HaxSync or FriendCaster because I don't care about high-res pictures or calendar events. If there is a third party app that can sync numbers i'll happily take it. If there really is no way to workaround this issue then, oh well. Thanks for your time guys.
Maybe Haxsync will work

geez
There is a workaround to just copy & replace ur contactproviders.apk
I have used it on a jb rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35867380
It enables u to sync contacts with pics. No calendar though
Make sure to backup orig file. Replace. Set permissions. Reboot. Clear fb, contacts cache. Reboot. U do have to manually join.
But for now m happy w/o getting any extra app can sync

[Q] Is there a way to date and time stamp photos

I know these boards have little time or patience for noobies. ( I did enjoy the pre registration video)
I have followed the instructions and done my homework.
Can anyone help me with a way to get my photos with a time/date stamp on them ?
First I was surprised that the GN2 did not have this feature and all of the APPS that I have found so far are not worth p--p.
Thank you for any suggestions or comments.

Ok like this? Very easy. Just enable gpd tag. Aldo while on the photo in your gallery you can also at a "weather tag" as I did.

I think he wants it physically "stamped" on the photo. So if it were to be printed etc, the date would show up on the photo regardless. I'm sure there are photo apps that can do this, but I don't have a use for it, so I have never really looked.

I have that issue on cm10.1 rc5. I had to download the messaging app handcent SMS. I know it covers the issue but at least you can send messages out.
Have you tried searching this issue on xda's search function and/or google?

I've tried GoSMS Pro, and Chompsms. Both had separate issues, however Textra gave me good results, but it's still in Beta, without many features. It does look promising though. I'll stick with the stock msg app for now, and wait for a while. Thanks for the reply.:good:

Are there any apps like the facebook messenger like the notiffication system it uses where a little chat bubble pops up and overlays whatever screen its on? I have sms pop up but what i like about the facebook one is you can see the whole thread of messages and with the facebook one it just shows a bubble in the corner instaed of stopping everything i'm doing.

I was in the process of writing something like this myself, but i read somewhere that GO Sms is gonna add a feature like this. So i stopped, this was a few months back, wish i didn't stop cause i'd have it done by now xD
Ninja sms is as close as I've found.

I've been using Handcent for forever and really like it. It has the pop-up messaging (similar to the iphone) which I think it what you're looking for. Actually, its a feature I turn off every time i reflash my phone
Hope this helps.
Thanks but that's not what I need. I've had handcent and I don't enjoy it. Before I got ninja I was using 88sms which is a mix between android 4.3 and cyanogen 10.2 stock messaging and it was far better than handcent imo. But ninja was exactly what I was looking got

Cool. I'll try them both out. Once I find a solution that works, I stop being informed and new/better apps become popular without me realizing.

Give Sliding messaging a shot. The paid version has a halo like ring where you can auto reply. Not to mention it has Google voice compatibility.
