I know these boards have little time or patience for noobies. ( I did enjoy the pre registration video)
I have followed the instructions and done my homework.
Can anyone help me with a way to get my photos with a time/date stamp on them ?
First I was surprised that the GN2 did not have this feature and all of the APPS that I have found so far are not worth p--p.
Thank you for any suggestions or comments.

Ok like this? Very easy. Just enable gpd tag. Aldo while on the photo in your gallery you can also at a "weather tag" as I did.

If its for legal purposes and its an old photo, it is in the properties of the picture.

I think he wants it physically "stamped" on the photo. So if it were to be printed etc, the date would show up on the photo regardless. I'm sure there are photo apps that can do this, but I don't have a use for it, so I have never really looked.

Does any one know how to make pictures bigger and clearer on caller id?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm pretty sure there's an app for that.
For clearer pics you just need better pics, as for bigger pics good luck.i tried to make full screen caller id no luck so far and havent seen anyone else mess with it. I'm hoping someday someone gets us full screen caller id
I hear most full screen caller id apps are not very good

ice noticed that if on your previous phone you linked pics to a contact and then switch phones the pic will be thier but pixelized, you have to relink the pic.

hmm...that's weird...I just tried it, and it worked fine for me. Oh, maybe it's because your trying from your phone...my fault. The name of the app is "Full Screen Caller ID". It was a link to the market page, but you can just search it in the market, and find it that way also.
yeah i have tried this one(free version) and have even tried to rip out and rework frame work to mimic this on the phones caller id (have yet to make it work)
If you sync your contacts with Google, the problem is that Google Contacts only supports low-res pics. Even if you put a high res pic on a contact on your phone, it will sync it to Google, which will downconvert it, and sync it back as a crappy looking picture. It sucks, and it's infuriating that they haven't fixed this after years of people complaining.
One workaround on a sense ROM is to create a second contact as a "Phone" contact, put the picture on that one, and link the two. That way all the important info is still synced to Google, but it uses a local picture for the phone. Another alternative is to turn off contact syncing altogether, but then you'd need to be sure you have another backup solution in place.
I've been a little disappointed by the camera quality out of the box. The pictures aren't bad but I was expecting more after hearing about how great the camera is. Are you guys using the stock settings or are there things I can tweak to improve quality?
Also, I have problem when sharing a photo via Gmail. I take a picture in portrait mode but it sends it in landscape.
I have downloaded and am using the DSLR Camera app from Samsung Apps and have been getting great results.

How do you get that?
It is available from the Samsung apps. If you registered your phone with Samsung, you have access to apps that are apparently free for those with Samsung phones. You can find it here: http://samsungapps.com/

I'm sorry, I've not experienced that problem. I just emailed myself a couple portrait photos to double check and they were fine. Wish I could help.

Did you view the pics in your Gmail account? Or did you download them and view them in your photo viewer? Maybe the landscape orientation is the only way Gmail allows you view the pic. Could be that it's a problem with Gmail and not my S3 but I'm trying to remember if it did the same thing with pics sent from my Evo 3D. I don't think it did.
Sent them to my wife's yahoo email account and just viewed them from there.
So I just took a picture in portrait mode and sent it to my Yahoo address. When I view it in Yahoo, it's correctly in portrait mode so I guess it's a Gmail issue.

Definitely.
I'm sure this has been answered but the 'search' function on the app sucks. Anyway, the contact photos look horrible when on a call or any time bugger than a thumbnail. Is there anyway to make them better? Not so pixilated?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I personally ask all my friends to send me a good HD picture of them... set it as their contact pic and I'm set .. if anything look thru your friends Facebook pictures and press the menu within the picture ... set as... contact picture... there you go.

Take/use a pic with a higher res....
I feel like I'm missing something terribly obvious to warrant asking a question like this
I'm using fb pics to sync with contacts so maybe that's the problem.

Ok i may be missing something but in the first Note i could of swore there was option to write/draw on the photo and edit it with SPen once you took a picture. On the new Note 2 i can't find how to do it.
Any kind Soul out there can show me how to do it would be appreciate it. Basically take a picture, take the Spen out and start writing/drawing on it.
Thanks in advance!!!
Ok i kind of figured it out but you have to press lots of option to get there after takign a picture here is a tutorial for it hahaha:
1. take a picture
2. navigate to picture
3. press menu and scroll to paper artist ( a pop up should come up giving you option to pick either photo editor or paper artist, obviously click photo editor)
4. Click decoration at bottom right
5. Click drawing
6 . then click pen if you want to change color and style of pen
7. after edit save photo.
This is a long drawn process but it is the easiest way i found so far.
If anyone else has a faster way please let me know. Also bellow is a link to the PHOTO EDITOR from my drobox. I tried downloading from both Play store and Samsung Apps and it would just say device not compatible. i found it searching XDA:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/p18pb7eyth764n7/com.sec.android.mimage.photoretouching-1.apk
Take photo. Press the small preview picture. Press menu. Choose Add note. You can also press the share button at the top and send the picture to Paper Artist or any other installed photo retouching program.
None of the methods mentioned work for me.

Did u installbthe photo 3ditor in my link above. Install it and try the steps again
When I click paper artist, paper artist automatically opens. I don't get an optipn to select photo editor. I downloaded a free app from the market, and it allows you to draw on pictures. It was the first app listed, and it's just called photo editor.

Install the phot editor from my link above then try it thats how I got it to work. That link is to photo editor apk.
I'd like to be able to get into the app the comes up when you take a screen shot with the S-Pen.
I can't figure out how to get a picture into there, or use that app on a screenshot captured with the power+home or palm swipe.

Most of them have demos showing you how to use them. Click on airview or motion in the menu to get to the sub menus. Then click on each feature to get to the demo. It took me awhile to figure this out.

The smart view is the only gimmicky thing for me
Sent From My GSIII
All of them work for me, but kinda limited to certain apps and not functioning to the way I'd hope. The eye scroll was my most anticipated feature, but too bad it sucks really bad and only limited to the stock browser, which I don't use.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
i think as the sg4 is out longer some app devs might support these features. that would make them a lot less gimmicky and more functional if they had widespread adoption from app devs.

For what it's worth, Air View stopped working for e-mail previews, the hover event would occur, I would see an bubble where the preview usually is but it was empty. I tried clearing data for email, etc.. but ended up factory resetting to fix it.

it was good in concept, but they need to work out a few more kinds, the eye detection thing just flat out doesnt work.
As far as Air View, Mine works for the most part, I only have issues with the Messaging app. The feature doesn't work on all my messages, only some of them. Odd.
