How to factory reset with broken screen - LG Optimus G (International)

Hi all, helping out a friend here.
His Optimus G was broken, the screen does not work, he has a replacement but wants to sell the old one for parts but cannot reset it without the touch screen.
Any tips on how to achieve this ?
Thanks.

Turn off the phone, hold volume down + power. Hit power button twice. A

Thanks but it doesn't work, I suspect there is a problem with the power button also

Try the "On Screen Phone" from LG:

Download, install, then plug the phone in and control it from your PC

HELP!!! My MDA3's Power Button is COMPLETELY INOPERATIVE!!!!

Hi,
My MDA3's power button (on/off) stopped working!! Pressing the button does NOTHING!!! I had locked all keys except the power button, since the power button stopped working, the ONLY way i could turn device on was resetting it!!!!
I have tried upgrading ROM etc, but the power button still wont work!
Can anyone please help me with this?
How did you enter bootloader to flash the rom, is the power button not needed on the mda3 to enter bootloader.?
....
interestingly enough i was able to reset the device by just using the reset pinhole, even the hard reset they say by using recorder+power+reset i was able to do with out the power.
It sounds like you have a hardware problem rather than software, I'd send it back & get it swapped before the warranty runs out if I were you.
We've had four units fail with dodgy buttons, you might even find that it's one the other buttons that is stuck in the pressed position thereby preventing use of the power button (try the sound recorder/camera buttons).
..
I was able to fix this problem by opening the phone, cleaning it with compressed air and putting it back together. I suspect this fixed the stuck button somehow.
I had simmilar problem. There must have been garbage in the button, as I noticed that it did not have the same 'click' feel to it when it stopped working. Luckily my phone was still under warranty, and I swapped it out (ugh)

[Q] Boot Problems

Hey guys, wondering if this great site can help me out. Just got a phone off of eBay (White HTC Evo 4G) However when I plug the phone into charger(s) it doesn't light up, display any LEDs whatsoever. furthermore if I try to power on the device it does the usual display of the HTC EVO 4G Logo on the whitebackground but then the screen quickly shuts off.
I then try the power+vol up key to access recovery menu. It will finally display the menu BUT THEN quickly the screen shuts off.
I then try hard reset, holding power button + vol down button. Same thing, menu pops up, as soon as it does the screen shuts off.
Connecting via USB cable of course windows does not detect it, it wont even boot up for that matter period via this method. lol. Any suggestions?
Send it back .... fast.

[Q] LG Optimus G Sprint is stuck on android recovery system, screen is cracked?

My LG Optimus G is stuck on the Android System Recovery screen. I can move up and down with the volume bar but I can select anything because you need to use the soft menu button and my screen is cracked there. Is there anyway to get around this? I've tried holding power and volume down to reset it but it just restarts and goes back to the recovery screen.

The power button should be the select. Press up or down on the volume to navigate and press power when you are where you want it to be.
Is the recovery stock or CWM? The power button should work either way for the select. Hope this helps.
also if you are just trying to restart, try holding down only power for about 20-30 seconds, it should do a hard shut down, then when you press power to turn on again it should go to the system.

I'm not sure if it's stock, it says Android Recovery System e3. It says to hit enter to choose an option but hitting the power button wouldn't select anything. I held down the power down and it shut off and isn't turning back on.
my lg optimus g turned off and now it wont come on or hold a charge
Well where do I start, I love this phone and I have not had a single issue with it until yesterday, took my phone off the charger in the am walked out the door , started my car went to make a phone call and my phone was off , tried to turn it on and to no avail, so i took the battery out of the phone (mind you this was quite an experience taking the back cover off) took care of that unhooked the battery let it sit for 5 minutes and it came back on like a charm , well as the day progressed my battery eventually died , so im thinking no biggie right? wrong tried to turn my phone on and nothing at all , just a solid red light which eventually cuts off but thats only when you put it on a charger and does nothing no blinking lights no power nothing. So ive been online following a bunch of different steps and the only thing i could do was put the phone into download mode when connected to a cpu but the cpu doesnt seem to see the device nor does it have power , im trying to fix this myself if possible, im really not trying to pay for a repalcement phone or wait 14 days to get another one so ill try as hard as i can here first and see if i can get some help.. PLEASE!!!! HELP!!!

Did the battery die? What happens when it is plugged in and you hold down the power? (to attempt to turn back on)

LG Optimus G Pro only had blinking icons

This morning I dropped my LG Optimus G Pro E980. The phone wont turn on now but when I plug it into the charger, the two buttons by the home button blink. Is my phone toast or is there something I can do to fix it?

Can you get it to enter download mode maybe? I've had those buttons blinking before--perhaps like that--when I hardcore boned a ROM install.
When the USB is connected to your system, does ADB recognize it? Check on your system recognize it at all? (If on Windows, check device manager.) If so maybe you can gank some nifty logs to attempt to figure out what the what. Or at least save anything valuable (crown jewels, secret of life, etc.).
Else try:
- Booting into recovery -- hold volume up and power button.
- Enter download mode -- remove battery, hold both volume buttons down, then keep them held down as you plug in usb cable. keep holding until you enter download mode or fail miserably.
- Attempt factory reset -- hold both volume buttons down as you power on -- anything?

HTC 10 unresponsive - screen or on/off button problem?

Hello,
I have a problem with a family member's HTC 10. Today their phone somehow got stuck with a black unresponsive screen, as if the LCD and the touch matrix (sp?) were both dead. It wouldn't restart after pressing on/off + volume button (tried with both volume buttons alternately). When pressing home, the back button and the other one would light up as usual, but it didn't turn on the phone, and neither did the on/off button.
The on/off button seemed kinda stuck halfway, and it usually has a smaller press/unpress "distance" than the one on my own HTC 10, so I'm guessing it was due to a stuck button. Said family member loves taking screenshots and complains that the button works poorly.
Is this a stuck button problem? Is this fixable or should we throw away the phone and buy a new one? The phone started working normally on its own after a few hours, but obviously this is something that needs to be fixed.
Thanks for reading, any help will be much appreciated!
Edit: It was all hardware problems, ended up taking it to the shop and getting parts replaced, works fine now.
