From copy.com's website: "To celebrate Copy's launch, earn 5 GB of extra free storage for yourself and whoever you refer each time you introduce someone new to Copy. This is a limited time opportunity to rack up huge amounts of extra free storage while we build the initial buzz around Copy!"
The cool thing about signing up with this company, is how we get free storage. You get 5GB just for signing up. But if you use someone's referral link, you get 5GB more and so does the person whose link you used. For every person that you refer via link you get 5GB more free.
The additional referral 5GB is only for a limited time, so spread the word to get fast and free upgrades...
Here is my link, you can use my link or any others in this thread as well....just pay it forward my XDA family!!

Site Down
My PPC boot screens site is down. I host it myself and was (up until this point) using a free DNS service from ZoneEdit.com... they have a maximum bandwith of something I thought we would never use for PPCBS. We have exceded the limit of the free account. I can't afford to get it back up unless Donations are made. I don't like asking for money but to get the site back up, I will need about 40 bucks to get it back up and running. Thanks. DONATION LINK
I have a 150GB GoDaddy server itching for ROMs, kernels, themes, etc. Email me at [email protected] and I'll create an FTP account for you. Your path will be something like http://www.heylisten.org/ROM/android/your-xda-username unless you request something different. All that I request in return is that you try to recommend users to my index site, http://www.heylisten.org/ROM, when appropriate. Your ROMs can be included in said index if you tell me where to find them and how to list them (phone name, base). The Inc section is the only one that works right now, but I'm working on expanding the site.
Thanks!
Yeah Im tired of mediafire and rapidshare bull aswell, I have 4 servers 2 home and 2 on godaddy. I can mirror if anyone cares ([email protected])
i offered up space on my webdomain.. it went unheard .. devs like the media sites cause they can monitor clicks.. i monkeywrench em and download files multiple times .. your counts arent true!!!!!
To devs: with a normal FTP server, you can use ROM Manager and QR code downloads, as well as the RM web link thing. C'mon, I didn't get the 150GB plan for nothing, did I?
Mobileunderground offered free ftp space for rom chefs as long as they just mirrored their threads there aswell.
I know alot of rom chefs use it to track their downloads, or to earn some extra cash by using the sharing sites (or extra bandwith to dl other things online).
There have been tons of sites that have mirrored roms and other items, but in the long run, they end up getting shut down either by htc, google, microsoft, or the webhost's request them to go down for using them to host files when it says not to in the TOS...
read the TOS, 99.9% of webhosts will have that in there, once you start getting into tens of gigs of data, they will tell you to remove the file within 2-3days....I know, it happened to MobileUnderground multiple times since I have been a mod over there...

exactly my reason for staying with multiupload.... i have a godaddy account but they have required me to pull my files more than once... its too much of a pain to redo all of that
I have about 3TB of traffic weekly. Been running solid for about 5 months.
I looked over the ToS. As long as I don't go over 150GB I'm good, because I have unlimited bandwith.

The tens of gigs statement was only used because that's when they notice that you are using it to distribute or backup files without paying for a package that allows this. It has happened to TONS of chefs/websites that hold ROMs and other items.
It's been proven time and time again that it does not work...
Maybe if you had a dedicated server, things might be different...But the traffic to the sites that host such roms are retardedly high and the webhosts see that and shut you down....
It does not take very long.
Trust me, I've had to backup the entire ftp of MobileUnderground onto my 2tb external only to upload it to the new server and have the same thing happen to us in about a two month span with three or so webhosts.
Stick around for about 2 years and you'll see it happen to plenty of people.

Hosting Support
There are a good many users on these forums using 4Shared to host ROMs.
Which I understand. There aren't many file hosting sites that allow for the sizes of our ROMs.
However, 4Shared requires you to log in. And linking to a website that requires you to log in is prohibited.
So don't do it.
Here are two websites with 1GB+ upload caps to use for hosting ROMs.
JumboFiles
http://jumbofiles.com/
Billion Uploads
http://billionuploads.com/
Billion Uploads has a 2GB cap, while JumboFiles has a 1GB cap.
Both are supported by HEAVY ads. They are seldom with ad blockers. But that defeats the purpose, and if you have the brains, it shouldn't be a big deal.
-NOTE-
BillionUploads only allows 25GB traffic a day. 30 downloads at 820MB will shut it down.
JumboFIles will delete your stuff after 30 days if you do not log in during that time. Log in once a month and your stuff should remain uploaded.
Given the cap on traffic, I recommend JumboFiles for what we are doing.
Oh yeah.
I forgot,
I have unlimited hosting. No caps, no limits, no throttling.
I am more than happy to host for anyone that sends me a PM. All you have to do is send it to me. I will even accept 4Shared
And for developers, I can even set up FTP for you.
Figured id share this with all of my fellow samsung friends. https://copy.com?r=KsLnGA You start with 15gb free.
This is great. Up to 45 gb free
Very cool cloud storage apk, everything is configurable..

Copy Storage: https://copy.com?r=dWCDkI
In addition to the standard 15GB free cloud storage, you get an additional 5GB for signing following the link above so you get a total of 20GB free cloud storage space.
Compatible with Windows, Mac & Linux as well as Android and even iOS. Being rather new, it's simple, intuitive to use and quite eye-catching design as well.
Allows for public & private sharing and collaborative file editing feature. It is highly secure as all communication with the cloud is SSL-encrypted and further encrypted with AES 256 as well as multiple keys -- Safe to say that your files are safe.
Plus, both you and I get 5GB extra space. Win-win. You raise my happiness quotient, and I yours. Follow that link already!
Cheers...

For those who do not know, Dropbox has a promotion going on with HTC to give an addition 23gb of space for 2 years to people who use Sense 5. EXCEPT for whatever reason people on either Verizon or AT&T are not eligible for this promotion, which essentially means everyone here on the Verizon HTC One will not be able to get the free 25GB, at least that is how Verizon wants it to be.
I say F*** Y** Verizon, even though you do not want to give me the extra space, I am going to trick you into giving it to me and whoever else wants it!!
The workaround method I discovered is all thanks to Newtoroot and the amazing roms he releases!!
To get the 23gb of Dropbox space you will need to download Newts "[ROM] NOS v1.0.2 HTCOneVZW [JB 4.2.2 & Sense 5] 9/5/2013*GSM carrier support" ~*Links are at the bottom*~. There are two versions of the rom, one is to connect with Verizon's network and the GSM one is to connect with GSM networks, to get the dropbox promotion you need to download the GSM one. Even if you are on Verizon, you still want to download the GSM rom and install it. I can assure you that you will have no problems installing Newts GSM rom, the only thing that will not work is anything that requires you to be connected to a carrier network. During the installation of the ROM you will be given a lot of options for what you want installed and what you dont, the only thing you really need to have installed is Dropbox.
After the install, proceed with going through the phone setup, you *HAVE TO* connect to wifi for internet because you will not be able to connect to 3g or 4g. During the phones setup when you come to accounts page with GMail, Exchange, etc etc, you should see an option for Dropbox, click that. After logging in and clicking through the screens that come up such as the Camera Upload feature. Once you get to your list of folders in your Dropbox app, you should have an additional 23 gigs. You will get an email from Dropbox confirming the addition of 23 gigs to your account for 2 years.
After you get you have confirmed you received the additional 23gigs, all that is left to do is restore a nandroid backup or re-install your favorite rom and get back to business as usual with your phone, except now you have
If you do not have a Dropbox Account, use this link to create one - Sign Up for Dropbox- using this link will give you an additional 0.5 gigs of free space. Outside of this promotion, there are other ways to get free space from Dropbox, most of those ways are permanent additions to your account. Referral for example can get you a max of 16 gigs of free space, 0.5 gigs for you and the person you refer.
Here are some links, first is the official promotion website, next is confirmation you will receive after you log in to dropbox with the GSM rom, and the third link is to Newts ROM that makes all this possible, make sure you download the GSM version and hit "Thanks".

I wonder why VZW and AT&T aren't eligible...?
My guess would be because their combined customer base is like 200+ million so a LOT of people would be getting free 25GB and that would cut into Dropbox profits.
Anyway... Awesome! Good info

Guaranteed the workaround isn't actually this hard. My guess is that all you have to do is edit a system file to make Dropbox think the One is another phone. This system file is called the "build.prop", and is found at /system. I don't have either ROM downloaded but I'm pretty sure that if you look at the build.prop from the GSM ROM and the build.prop from the VZW ROM, there is a value that is different probably titled something like ro.product.model in that build.prop file. If you just edit the build.prop on any ROM to what it is on the GSM ROM (or for that matter, any phone that is eligible for this promotion), this workaround should still work.
Again, I haven't tried this, and all of this is me just speculating, but this is how we got access to similar promotions back when I had my Thunderbolt. If someone wants to look for the value in the build.prop for the GSM ROM and post it up here, I bet other people who are unlocked could just do it the easy way.
Thank you. It worked great!
While I have little knowledge of how android roms work, I do want to try and learn how to make something like Papasmurf's idea of editing the build.prop to allow the promotion of work. With any luck I can provide instructions that will allow more roms to receive the Dropbox Promotion. I think it some bureaucratic bull**** that only some carriers support a promotion like this. What could Verizon possibly have to lose by letting their phones be part of a Dropbox promotion?? IF anything serious change came from a promotion like this it would be people using more 3g/4g data because they have more files on Dropbox, maybe even have music, tv shows or a movie on there because 23 gigs could certainly hold and more, the usage of more data simply means people will spend more money on data plans, especially because Unlimited Data is becoming one of those "Back in my day...." myths.
I should add that a couple years ago someone released an edited version of the Dropbox.apk file to give whomever used that apk access to a HTC Sense promotion regardless of what phone was being used. Dropbox found out about this, fixed the exploit and revoked the bonus space of anyone who had gotten it from the hacked apk.
I've gotten free space from Dropbox before through an HTC promotion. When I did it they gave you 50GB. HOWEVER, they will remove this extra space from your account after awhile. They don't tell you this when you get the free space (unless it's hidden in the agreement somewhere), but after 2 years was back tot eh regular old 2GB. I've since moved to Box.net that sometimes does a bonus space promotion, and the explicitly state that the extra space will not expire. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I don't believe you are.. but there are plenty of folks here who have either taken up Sonic on his S-off offer or else beat Verizon to the HTC Dev site. To those people go the spoils.

Why go through the hassle of getting 23GB of space for two years when you can get it for life, with 5GB per additional referral from Copy? I've been using Copy for awhile now and it beats Dropbox hands down. The UI on both the web and mobile devices are more robust (with embeddable links, per user link sharing and the like), it is just as fast if not faster, and the best thing, in my opinion is that shared folders do not fully count against your storage limit the way it does in Dropbox. For example, if there's a 750MB file shared among three people, each person's storage is reduced by only 250MB, not 750MB. The more that file is shared, the less the hit to one's storage as it is spread across the number of people sharing. Android app is awesome.
If interested, I have a referral link in my signature. I really think Copy is going to either kill Dropbox or force it to lower its absurd pricing and referral arrangement.

Check it out and tell me what you think. It really works well. I think Dropbox will have to up their game. Charging $99 for a 100GB a year is absolutely ludicrous. They were able to get away with it because alternatives like Skydrive, Google Drive and others simply didn't offer the same seamless functionality.
