Neat, as you said, but have you read about that it is desktop OS (or at least x86/AMD64 linux based)? Don't know why it is demoed with a phone, but it is a desktop os in base for now.

There is a Sailfish OS forum here.
Thank you,

These Colors.....
simple, smooth, easy on the eyes
I use to not be a fan, but it has grown on me over the years.
Very Nice
Not much of a valuable subject for a thread but since it's here, this is easy on the eyes, very smooth, and does not seek to put it's design above the content. Sorry to disagree, but this forum needs no changes to improve it's information delivery. Maybe others do, this one doesn't. It's easy to ready and find what I want, what more could you ask for?

Yap, I got the same question, please help
Meh I'd hope if you're an xda frequenter you could have figured this out on your own, not sure it merits a walkthrough eh. BUT I want a MHL adapter with the option of still using the USB to go functionality of the phone. I've heard of this being their plans in the future.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I thought about all this back when the EVO 4G and Droid X came out with the built in MicroHDMI ports. Of course, back then neither device supported USB OTG, and I don't think they had great support for USB HID devices, but I'm not 100% sure. All I know is that it's taken too long for these companies to list this PC-like setup as a major feature over the iPhone, or even in general. Granted it's not practical for everyone, but for us geeks, it's certainly a viable option for an instant-on, extremely productive, lightweight, portable PC setup.
Imagine if they could set up internet cafes or or PC labs were you could just bring your compatible Android phone, and hook it up to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and be productive right away. For students who just need to type up a paper, browse the internet, print something, etc etc., this could be a great low cost option for both the student and the university/college/other institution. Of course it might come with tech support nightmares, but it would still be a great idea in theory.

That would require carrying around a separate device which wouldn't be useful to you outside of this setup. Most people always have their phones and most people's (high end) phones have better CPU's and GPU's than a lot of the Android-on-a-stick devices.
This is pretty cool.

[REQ] Jolla Sailfish OS

Saw this on the main forum board of devices. Thought it would be cool to have on our devices as we seem to be picking up steam. I haven't the slightest clue to build anything so just wondering if there are any developers willing to take on a project like this. I'll post a video from YouTube for the OS Demo.

Please look at this link. It is an article from Engadget with hands on video of this OS, and guess what??? It says the source code has been released to DEVS.

It's really cool how they expanded upon Microsoft's idea of live tiles and made it so you can interact with it! Will this be shipping on devices?

You asked what android version does it work for, hence I said it's not android. There is no mention of it running a similar structure to android like firefoxOS, so if the hardware supports it, the android version won't matter at all.
The video says it might be premiered on Nokia first.
Looks like they opened a forum for this on XDA. Jolla Sailfish
To be totally honest with all, some will agree with and some wont, but i dont care how many ways you twist and turn it,ICS,JB and Sense is all the same, stacked side by side(i do mean the UI),all these new roms look the same but have different tweaks or a new theme,im guilty of it also,it continues to look all the same, thats why im gonna do some serious researching into this Sailfish OS and try to drop it on the EVO world,i think its time for a change, for us that have fallin behind.
It hasn't been released yet. There is actually a thread for it on XDA.

My blog post on designing your app

I Thought it might be nice to share my blog post on the design stage of developing an app.

Your welcome.
I Also did a new post this week on design basics, I have written the article specially for developers that want to know a bit more about the basics of typefaces.

My latest blog post is all about measurements. PX, PPI, DPI, EM's, REM's and a special section for Android developers that covers DIP and SP

the market is full of poorly designed applications, and as an user a bad design is the main reason to uninstall an application.

I agree. Alot of the criticism that Android receives from Apple fans is due to the ugly apps that developers make.

Multi windows

Hi guys, I was just curious which ROMs have multi windows. Thanks!!
There is an Xposed module that can do it on rooted stock 4.4.4. I tried it out once but most of the apps I wanted to use crashed in it. It seemed to work OK with Chrome on top and Facebook on the bottom, which is what I used it for the most, but uninstalled it after a few days because it just didn't work as well as I wanted.
Any ROMs? Anyone?! This forum is pretty lame, huh?
