[Q] acro S - LCD Color Temperature - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I have recently purchased the Xperia acro s, and while the display is certainly nice, I have noticed that colors - most notably grays - appear very warm. White areas of the display appear pure, but light grays look yellow or brownish and mid and dark grays have a reddish tint to them - a significant departure from the more neutral tones on my Xperia active and computer monitor. I have attached a photo to illustrate what I am talking about.
I was wondering if fellow owners of this device could tell me if this warm color temperature is a characteristic of the display of the acro S, or an oddity of my particular handset. Thanks in advance

white and black sxs

hi guys..
have you ever compared a black xperia s and a white xperia s?
well, with full brightness and all the display settings being the same, the black one shows deeper and better colors..
and i mean across the entire UI..
does anyone know why?
i have had the liberty to compare 3 white and 2 black ones..
all the three white show same washed out colors and the black ones show the same better color and contrast..
im just being curious..

That's because a human's eye considers white colors to have less contrast than black colors. It's an illusion. In fact, a phone with white body has the same screen contrast with black one. Don't worry, it's just our mind is playing with us LOL
#wind up mode on#
It's because white is for girls
#wind up mode off. Lol#

[Q][Report] Dead Pixel - Touch Panel Problem - Tint/Hue

Hi
because of Aluminum frame thr were lots of reports about problem of touch-screen.
and some experiments to show this problem.
Is there any touch problem on Z1 compact?
-
dead pixel was common issue on 2013 devices.
on LG G2, Nexus5, Xperia Z, ZL, Z1 & etc. (same feature was LCD display)
have u ever test ur Z1 compact for dead-pixel?
-
Z1 compact got white-balance out of box and maybe thr s few issue on a color tint.
but with default configuration, is there any color on screen that annoy ur eyes?!
- - - - -
If these kind of issues reduce it means Sony Triluminos display improved and it will be good news for tech
Thanks for ur answers
:good:
please report ur problems
White balance out of the box is excellent compared to the competition, none of the ridiculous 9000+k blue hue you get on samsung devices.
No dead pixels
Touch panel issues are present on AUO panels - it will recognise an extremely large touch (such as flattening/rolling your thumb on the screen) as a two-finger zoom. Can't really see any reason why this couldn't be resolved in a software update.
Blue tint !
and again different display!
however blue tint is better than yellow hue but it s not real !
have u got any problem!?
source
any issue?
Got an AUO panel...
Dead Pixels = None
Got a yellow tint when I got the device. But now it's gone. I think it's just the glue that got cured between the digitizer and the screen
Touch Problem = None
The poll has no option for people who don't notice any problems! Tint/hue is also very subjective and can't really be measured properly without professional test equipment.

A very bad display

Ever since I got my Xperia M the display has had blueish tint and bad color reproduction but I acknowledged that is a problem with every Xperia M. But beside that, when I look at the display from an angle, on a white background, I can see a gray line appearing from top of the screen and a gray circle in the middle. Again, it is visible as an effect when looking at an angle, cannot see it when looking directly at it. I also have a bright pixel on a black background. Are these also negligible, common issues or along already bad screen I've got a defected screen? I am very disappointed in Sony anyhow.

I'm pretty sure I saw this post somewhere b4... anyway for bluish tint - get the white balance app from @xperiaz2 (Yes, you need root and the bluish tint is due to the colour temperature, its at around 10k+, the norm. being around 6500k) Gray line appearing... pretty sure you're having a defected display and about the bright pixel, display is defected. Yes you got a defected screen (The bluish tint is not a defect though) so just bring it back to where you bought it and they'll replace it for you! (If the warranty is still live)
Well I posted on Xperia support forum trying to get help there, too. Or just an insight of what could that be and what could cause the problem. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures taken with a phone. The camera couldn't get that grey line properly but it appeared as a shadow from the top of the screen probably because as I said it's like an effect when tilting the phone, not a still colour. http://imgur.com/3Ae2rdr http://imgur.com/Nyv2maS
I suggest you to bring it back to the shop, that problem isn't present on mine.

Pink screen

Hey guys, I've got a tianma display with the infamous pink tint from angles. I compared it with a store unit and my unit's display quality is subpar. The brightness, contrast and viewing angles all are bad compared to the store unit which had SHARP panel. Tianma owners, did your unit's pink shift improve? How did HTC respond with your pink shift if you contact them for this problem??

So the pink shift when viewing off angle stays. It's definitely not glue, rather something to do with polarisation or a coating on the display. That being said, the screen on my phone has gotten much better when viewed straight on; it always used to look rather pink when compared to my iPod Touch 6g (which is generally well calibrated) but now just looks a little cooler which is fine since the iPod is slightly warmer than neutral anyway. The screen has not gotten any brighter, viewing angles are better but still slightly pink past ~60-70 degrees, especially in portrait and much less so in landscape. It took around a month to settle down for me, I've had the phone for two months now and really like the display. I do a lot of photography work and know what a well calibrated display looks like and the 10 is pretty spot on. As for brightness, it's not the brightest always visible even in the Australian summer, just make sure power saver isn't on since it caps the max brightness considerably.

[A50] How is your screen uniformity with white/grey backgrounds?

Browsing/reading forums/pages with white/grey backgrounds i notice some mild pink clouding in particular area's of the screen.
Are a lot of A50 screens affected by this or do you have a perfect display?
Thankfully I haven't noticed anything off about the screen so far. Blacks are good as expected of amoled screens and theres no discoloration on the whites or any hues. How long have you had your phone for and did you check if the blue light filter is enabled on your phone? I know the blue light filter makes the screen have some reddish pinkish tone.
Send the first A50 back, couldn't live with the uneven pink hue. Received a new one today which is flawless! Very happy with a win in the amoled lottery.
