Would going back to JMT X4 be a good idea? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I am currently on aokp build 6 and am getting bored of the holo look of the ROMs+bugs and am thinking of going back to JMT X4. I know that this ROM is kinda old and is on ICS so I wanted to ask if it would be a good idea because I heard that it doesn't have Google now and some other stuff that is present in JB ROMs.

eh...if you want. I personally dont care for GoogleNow, and I also prefer the stability of ICS over customization in JB. Up to you man.

Thats what Im running now. It's my "go-to" ROM. VERY stable, great battery life.

I'm running Darkside Evolution v8 right now. While JB is faster and a bit smoother my network reception and the way my phone responds to it is not good at all. On any radio/rom combination my signal just cuts off when it is relatively low.
I'm just waiting on Official Touchwiz JB.

If your looking for a mostly bug free Rom then JMTX4 would be a good bet.. It's further developed and is super fast..
If you want the same bug free experience on JB then you will have to wait a little longer my friend. But it's coming soon!
This thing makes calls too ?

I just came from an aokp nightly by whitehawkx and wanted to try out the JMT jb2.1. For some reason the radio wouldn't work so I flashed stock jb rom via odin, flashed TWRP, and then installed JMT. Radio worked perfectly after that.

I was using JMT X4 as a DD. Upgraded to the 4.1.2 JB as soon as it was out and am now using build JMT JB2 with the Beta kernel and have not had any issues. Very smooth on my end.
Very hard for me to tell the difference in speed compared to JMT X4.

CM10 or AOKP Jelly bean

So whats better? and whats latest in devleopment... im currently running AOKP Jeally Bean 15Aug Build with trinity kernel and i was wondering whats further in development and has the most features and is more stable?
AOKP or CM10?
Everyone has there own opinion but can you please give a reason why you prefer that rom?
Everybody has an opinion. I love CM10, but AOKP is cool too. Try Paradigm though, its been great to me.

Sir, black bean is based heavily on AOKP. It IS AOKP with a little tweaks such as inverted apps and such. For me, AOKP nightly is better, because the updates are much quicker and bug fixes come before black bean.

Jelly Bean ROM?

I'm trying to decide which JB ROM to install onto my E4GT... The candidates are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812078 (AOSP Jelly Bean)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810315&highlight=alpha5 (CM10)
They're both in the alpha development phase, but I want to know which is "smoother" (i.e. which has fewer bugs, and can be better used as a daily driver).
Any help would be appreciated.
I personally like the AOSP jelly bean better
And don't let the Alpha tag fool you.. It surely doesn't run as an alpha
I would recommend to make sure you do a CLEAN wipe and get a gps lock before you flash it though.. Helps makes things a lot smoother

Ive tried all the major ones, and for ICS based ROMS Jedi Mind Trick v7/v8 and TDJ's ROMS have been the best. That said, after a few days on ANY ICS ROM Ive tried I start getting anomalies that make it frustrating, so for now Im back on Darkside Digital Warfare 2.7. That seems to be my go-to ROM and I have never had one issue with it. I sacrifice a little snappiness, but for me its flawless and bulletproof.

I've tried 4-5 roms since i bought my phone 4 weeks ago... and i'm always coming back to my nand backup of my stock rom because there'S always small things i'm not happy with every roms i tried...
Jedi knight 2... One of the best UI with SIII addons but got Launcher freezes 5-6 times a day for 30 seconds...
Clones and Drones... AccuWeather bugs on Lockscreen... ask in Celcius but got temp in Farenheit even with the small C besides and always show wrong city...
Koodo v.4.0.4 v3... this one was almost perfect for me but have poor data speed with Fido on 4G
Jedi mind Tricks V8 ... poor battery life...
But gonna continue to try others and coming back if there's new version of what i already tried...
thanks to all devs for the good work...

CM10 hands down.
I haven't had a single problem. Running 09/25 nightly right now
Been running Casper's aokp for a week now. Had two lockups on different builds but other than that no other issues, no flickering either. Running it with ktonz kernel @ 1809. Battery life is comparable to Free & Wicked's ICS roms. It's based off all the latest cm10 builds but with soo many more customization options such changing the background of your notification tray. I've heard good things about codenameandroid too.

Did you CM10 users changed to the Stock JB Update?

I am having a hard time deciding if I want to go back to TW with stock JB. So far I am really happy with CM10 except for minor bugs here and there but what about you guys, Have you changed from CM10 to JB?
How do you like it?
Is it as fast and snappy'?
I miss the stock camera, the email layout, some gestures (txt to talk, Facebook integrated with contacts) and other lil' things here and there but that is about it.
Let me know.
I switched back. Its nice, smooth and snappy, but I do miss the vanilla aosp that cm10 delivers.....

I like both will use TouchWiz JB when need complete stock everything working 100% and then go to AOSP/AOKP when I want to have more fun with themes and such.
Yep I switched. I had been using all of the JB Leaks and had strangely poor performance but recently was able to attribute that to the "media server" taking up a disproportionate amount of CPU time and I was able to fix that. Everything's good.
I tried out the stock OTA and then switched right back. IMO nothing beats this stable CM 10.0 build.

Except having a camera that can save to SD card, ammirite!!!
Kidding aside, I switched back from CM to stock just a few days before the JB update and am glad I did. I've always used CM ROMs with previous phones, but this was the first time that there were simply too many things that should just work right that simply were not working right. The stock JB is definitely snappy, camera is great, GPS works instantaneously (was another gripe I was having with CM).
