S- off one x - HTC One X

Hello all
I want your help
I have one x and on my country there is no JB yet
Can I s-off via HTCDEV and change the CID to international and then receive update
Thank you all
Sorry for my bad English

Nope

because we have no s-off exploit at the moment.

Conversation with HTC Support

And it is reply from HTC SERVICE? there is currently no soff for one x, and htc does everything what they can to not let people soff their phones. Making sure there is no leakage of valid diag file etc. You can only unlock your bootloader at htcdev, but there is no way to soff one x yet other than sending phone to some shop in Russia

And if they say its for the one X, they mean the HTC One XL ! That one has actually an exploit to make it s-off.

I believe the support guy was talking about Unlocking the bootloader, not s-off. There is no s-off for One X as others said.

Holy crap. How do they let guys who can't see the difference between S-OFF and unlocked bootloader do tech support?? :banghead:

Its probably not even a legit HTC office. I think its a 2cond party company that handles these cases for HTC. Just like call centers that handles complaint calls for a lot of different companies......don't know what they talk about, just give a standard response and that's it.

No Dice.
Whoever sent that message back to you was mistaken. I trawled around for ages to see if there was any S-Off exploit for the One X, maybe even an adaptation of the One XL S-Off (which does exist)... no such luck. All you can do is unlock the bootloader as far as I see. :/

but we maybe have a chance to get s-off maybe in the next weeks or 1-2 months just wait...someone is getting a working diag file etc but problem is, i forgot the name, maybe the javacard or so, to get that is really hard :/

I've got an idea, maybe stupid one but always... Anyway, if they are that dumb, maybe you could ask them to send you a diag file, as you need it to soff? maybe, just maybe, (very little chance) they will do it?

HTC media link dgh 100 incompatible with HTC ONE X

Purchased a HTC DGH 100(good old media link) last week off ebay after checking if its compatible with HTC one X and was under the impression that it is compatible but plays media in a lower resolution.
Received it today and tried pairing it with my Htc one X (i was so excited that I literally wanted to jump) and after trying for nearly an hour, I gave up and called up HTC customer service.
Spoke to a nice lady(sarcasm) over the phone who initially said to me "We are sorry sir, but we do not provide troubleshooting support for HTC Media Link". After a few mins of a heated argument regarding how crappy their customer service is, I finally got to speak to speak to her manager who was very nice(sarcasm again) and told me that htc media link is not compatible with htc one x and after showing them this link
http://www.htcaccessories.com.au/DG_H100.aspx
where "under category and cables" it mentioned htc one x, they agreed that there was a mistake on their website. I have been advised by HTC that they will try getting back to me with a resolution and advised me "we are not promising you anything" like they are warning me.
Will update the post soon with their resolution or any updates on this but just wanted to tell every one pathetic the HTC customer service is.
Crap, and they still havn't fixed the site
their customer service is really bad
i wudnt be surprised if they dont get back to me or fix up their website given how bad they were on the phone.
That's is terrible, HTC should really pull thier fingers out of their backsides and get the accessory released, I've had the dock, media link on order from amazon for 6 weeks now and they have failed to supply them.
I think you have grounds for a refund as it dosent work as advertised, have you contacted the seller?.
Also if it is DLNA can you not try one of the DLNA streaming apps from the marketplace?

I have contacted the seller but can't blame him as he asked me to check with HTC regarding the compatibility before I buy it. I asked if HTC could do anything to fix it or replace it with media link hd, but they said that they won't and after threatening them about taking this on fb,Twitter etc.. they said they will look into it. Lol, funny how I never use fb/Twitter unless I have a complain against some organization

I thought they advertised it originally to allow all hdmi TVs to have DLNA added so you could stream from computers etc - I originally looked at it but got a bluray player instead ( cheaper at the time).
Imediashare lite should find it on your network. Keep us posted

The problem with imediashare is that my tv doesn't have DLNA n the so called media link has a closed software/hardware that doesn't lt the one x connect to media link using any other hardware. They better come up with a resolution or I am going the galaxy way

Your not the first and won't be the last, I'm also thinking of changing, unless htc get s-off and actually release updates to the UK I'm out probo for good. So near yet so far.... The older medialink should be compatible end of there is no excuse for it to be incompatible with future models. Because of this thread I think I will be cancelling my media link as it won't be compatible with future models.

It really is a shame considering I spent $780 on my new phone and media link only to be told that I have to sort things out myself. Oh and I haven't even started talking about screen flickering which hasn't gone away even after swapping the handset.

Update 15 may 2012
HTC calls me and tells me that media link is compatible and when I ask them to help me fix it, they give up and request for more time to come up with a resolution.
On a sidenote, they are yet to fix up their mistake on the website and worse, they have added a few more phones to the list(like sensation, explorer etc) that I think may not be compatible.
Good going HTC(pun intended)!

Update 15 may 2012
Got a call back again and was asked to update the firmware which I did already. I was then asked to give out the imei of my handset to which I denied and then I was told to provide them with the software/firmware version of one x. After telling them that I have one device with 1.29 and the other with 1.26, they came up with a crappy excuse that it only works with 1.28!!!I then told them that it was ridiculous and they had no idea as to what they were talking and were coming up with crappy excuses. They then advised me that they can only help if I gave them the imei number and when I requested them to put that line in writing and email me so that I could use it for legal purposes I was advised that they will call me tomorrow to help me fix the problem.
Luckily Australian laws are consumer friendly and if not resolved in a few days, I am knocking the doors of the consumer affairs.

Getting HTC One X working with Media Link
If you upgrade the firmware on the Media Link, this should work.
Steps:
1. Download the HTC Media Link ROM Update for HTC Desire HD (1.11.0.0)
(You have to search for this, as I don't have the right to post links in the forums yet)
2. Hold the power button on the Media Link and then plug it into your PC using the included USB cable. After 2-3 seconds, it should start flashing orange and green.
3. Open the Media Link ROM Update executable file.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen until the Media Link has been updated to ROM version 1.11.0.0
5. Plug in Media Link to TV and use as normal.

Sending phone to repair service

So, I bought my phone from someone like 5 months ago, and it works fine except for two things. First the camera does not focuses on macro o close up pictures. It just doesn't, no matter what I try.
And secondly, something that started recently, the WiFi drops....even next to the router. I read somewhere here that it was a manufacturer problem. So I called HTC and they told me I am under warranty and that I should send my phone to them. Question is:
Will they give me another phone? Something I want but with the same CID (0_44 here) and, how long will they take to fix this? I know these are kinda weird questions but maybe someone is able to answer them. Thanks.

Girl said she couldn't tell me. It "depends on each case" and that's why I come here. Someone might have sent their phone for similar reasons.

We don't know what country you are in, we don't know what service centre you're referring to, we don't know what stock they have, we don't know what backlog they might have, some of those things change with time, we don't know what other problems they might find. It depends on each case.
I'm not sure how anybody here could be more qualified than HTC repair centre to answer the question.
HTC service in Hong Kong told me typically three business days for the WiFi problem, I don't know if that includes the pick up and delivery days
The girl in the US checked my serial number which would tell her my cellphone is CID_044 right?
She didn't tell me I was gonna pay or that they couldn't fix it cuz it was not bought from USA. Is it safe for me to send it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Well HTC__044 is an asian phone, and the international One X is not sold in the US. I've heard that they can't import new motherboards due to some patent infringement, but that may have changed now.

I have read that too. I find it weird that HTC has a global warranty service center in USA. Meaning that they should fix international phones there...right?

Well, yes, but if it requires importing a component that would go against an import ban, that would mean breaking the law, and I'm sure you can understand why they might be inclined not to do that.

Oh really!!!
They sell S-off chips in China, what they do is replace the S-on chips with the S-off ships [hardware mods]
At least thats how they explained to me...I got an S-off device, same as a s-on locked device but you can flash RUUs....any RUUs
AW: Taiwanise One X - Can I S-OFF ?
Wait. So you say they replace a soldered IC (I guess the radio chip) to give one s-off?! This is kinda ridiculous, isn't it? Not that I don't believe you, but e.g. where should they purchase s-off'd chips? Also, it's very inefficient, at least it does sound so.
Never heard anything like that either.
Sent from my EndeavorU using Tapatalk 2
Okay even though I am pretty sure I will get to nowhere I am trying to put all the pieces together to see what's needed to S-OFF this bad boy, or at least what is supposed to be needed.
What exactly is a Javacard and what role it plays in this case?
I have found two DIAG files somewhere here on the One X forum. How do I determinate whether they are legit and the right ones?
Has anybody tried this guy method http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=10824156715 ?
Looks like it's about $20 to $25, I could certainly give it a try..
I've seen on Chinese xda that a few people have used above method with success.
In regards to diag ect I'd read

Well I looked it up again
The chip is model is KMK2U000VM-B6 04, includes the CPU and flash module
They replace these if you screw up your HOX, some suppliers in China sell already S-offed chips.
There is also a gold/platinum sd-card, which is apparently used to s-off devices....they did not include an s-off method but the cost is pretty steep.
Maybe someone on here with some knowledge can explain....I already have an s-off device
I dont think so you can S-Off.

Infobar A02: Anyone here try to unlock it?

Good morning or afternoon, or night, depend on your timeline. It's 7:44 AM here.
So people, the Infobar A02 had been released by KDDI au for more than a month. I'm very, very, very exciting to get it. The problem here is: I wonder if any Japanese here try to unlock it? So far all I can find is a way to temproot it:
htcsoku.info/htcsokudev/2013device/root-a-locus/ (Sorry:laugh: Still not enough post to actually post a link)
This one is basically a modified version of HTC One X, so someone on 2chan suggest that we should follow the same procedure of unlocking the AT-T HTC One X to unlock this one, after rooting.
Anyone here try anything? Very appreciate any helpings

Unfortunately no. Both phones have few differences on their cases.
But, you can also modify htc one x+ case to fit it for htc one x
I found this video on YouTube. This will show you how you can do this process. It is not that hard:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUOY7t3-_dM
I did this a while ago, its not worth it. Even after modding the One X+ case, it still managed to feel uber cheap, creaking, light leakage, phone occasionally popping out of the housing. Also, wrong forum, this should have been posted to the One X O&A/Troubleshooting section.
