You would think since goggle is fond of amoled technology they would give us an official option to swap to black backgrounds inside their own apps. Calender, gmail and email need this option bad. I am sure many of us use these heavily and battery would benefit greatly from an invert option inside these apps and it isn't there in jellybean. What's up google? Y u no invert?
butter and jelly please...
Yeah its very strange at this point they haven't made most apps dark.
Perhaps it goes against Android Design Guidelines?

By the way, shouldnt the inverted apps be exactly the same no matter what the phone is?
When you download the gapps they're not deevice specific. :-/

Where at?

I've been using the inverted apps from rootzwiki (http://rootzwiki.com/topic/29460-in...ate-8-4-gmail412-contacts-fixed-in-landscape/) for a while now on latest rasjellybean to date + trinity stable 35 and they are working just fine: I've flashed mms, contacts, calendar, talk and installed the gmail inverted app (in order to get the inverted gmail client, you need to deleted the stock gapps gmail.apk from /system/app first and then install the inverted gmail apk file as normal).
I've just been using the black bean ROM, which is quite nice.
here is a good source for just apps.

New update, fixes contacts issue and ringtone issue. No other known bugs except occasional data drop, but I haven't gotten this.
Contacts fix: I changed out the ICS contacts with Go Dialer EX. There are a couple of themes included to choose from.
Ringtone fix: Added Tone Picker. Open this app, select tone picker, then your desired sound. Awesome little app.
I would like to find another way to fix these issues later with more of AOSP but all the Sense stuff is tied in so it may be a while.
Features: Sense mostly removed, left camera alone as IMO it's the best one out. Also, left stock music app. Extremely fast/smooth ROM. Includes Nova Launcher, AOSP JB messenging. Personalize does not work, as that was a part of sense, you will have to edit everything as in AOSP. More free memory, system memory. New blue droid boot animation. Aroma installer to select optional apps and GSM if desired (I have not modified this in any way so I take no credit, info and credit is in Aroma).
Issues: None that I know of.
Credits:
Base Rom = Tazzpatriot and Macrodroid (If you feel like donating, do so to them for their awesome base).
Tools Used = JRummy16 for ROM Toolbox Lite (Must have app). filmaker for The Rom Maker (Check it out here
Apps = All apps I used are available for free on the market and if u like please consider donating to respective developers.
Install Instructions : Get into recovery, format all partitions except sd card, flash the zip, thats it. (note: it takes forever to boot the first time be patient )
Theme Instructions : Flash rom first, boot it up, go back into recovery, flash theme. I recommend wiping cache/dalvik cache before flashing and mounting /system and /data but I have done it without doing those things.
Download: senselessicssucky.zip
Theme Download: theme.zip This is just something I cooked up in kitchen as I'm not done with my theme and having problems so credit goes to UOT Kitchen. Just some blue, nothing too fancy, flash in recovery.

I have removed most sense from this, I left music and camera, quadrant scores around 20000 with 250mb of free ram. Nova launcher, ex dialer, and jb messaging. Used online kitchen, made blue theme. All credit goes to tazz and mac for their great base, which I believe nitsuj contributed to also. Will update this before end of night with dl link, have to compile into flashable zip at home.

Ok's given, feel free to drop the link here any time you want... Also, if you want to continue this, I can add it on the ota list once we get it up and running...? Or we can run it as a script option, I'll leave that choice up to you bud! Btw, thanks for doing this!!

No problem... If you want, for future updates, I can either build a de-sensing script based on what's been removed/added or I can just add it in ota if you've got time to maintain it... Let me know what you want to do and we'll get it setup...

Maybe for some unity you could have the de-sensation as a script in the installer of the normal rom?

fantastic,awesome,perfect,amazing #1 for me...:thumbup::beer:
I'm using Official slim bean 3.1 with lightning zap kernel and I'm getting average 4 hours of screen time. My favorite rom so far!
CM10 Nightlies. I always get the most out of my battery out of it. Yet, the call quality on them kinda suck. People keep saying i'm breaking up while on a call.
Just to add I'm currently running slimstar and its pretty smooth on my end hasn't settled yet though

Depends what you are asking for. If you want performance, usually CM10. If you want battery, I'd also say CM10. For massive amounts of preferences go with PACman ROM.

All Star V7. Oddly enough I had to flash the rotate fix on it but otherwise great. I tend to get between 4-5hrs of screen time (tested on a plane flight from Dulles to Vienna) per battery.
Slim Bean All Star v5 the best so far...
Nighthawk's Tapatalk
Cyanogenmod 10
I am running slim-star! I really like it. new build is 26.1 ... Currently re-flashing though because it wouldn't detect my network o__o so I couldn't call anyone.
ROM from GS2USR
I flashed almost all the ROMs and the best one so far is the "[P?+Aokp+Cm] P.A.Cman True All in 1 ROM[01-03-13]" by GS2USR . Using v 19.0 currently.
Very fast/ snappy, no bloatware, has all the options you can imagine. ANd everything works great. I went to other roms for change, but kept coming back to this for smooth sail experience.
Good luck brother !
Aokp. Its virtually bug free.

Best T989 ROM Setup
Based on the advice of others who posted, I tried Slim Star v1.26, updated OTA today to v1.27. It is the best of all I tried for T989. No call echo, which was the deal breaker on a few JB roms. No WiFi issues, which I had with the latest CM10 nightlies. Here's the whole sequence of what I end up doing, after a lot of trying things
Flashed Slim Star ROM
Flash the Nexus boot anim from here
Flash Walkman.zip forget where I got that one from LOL, it was in the "Extras" or "Add-Ons" section of one of many ROMS I tried
Flashed latest ASD Kernel (probably overkill I know but I have good luck with this flash as far as eliminating Echo)
Bonus that ASD Kernel flash script does a cache wipe and dalvik wipe and reboot for me, so I do it last (3 less things I have to do in CWMR lol)
Wait 10 min (hardest part LOL)
Reboot, wait 1 min
Set up Google Acct but don't restore phone! Once I accidentally didn't uncheck Restore Phone and it won't let you go back! I had to start all over LOL
Slim Star comes with an app called Update Me, full of Awesomeness. I used the Add-ons menu in there to download a Extras.zip and it's own Slim-Gapps, reboot to Recovery and flash both of those
Today Slim Star did an OTA update of itself to 1.27, dirty flashed that, then set default keyboard to Android because I have to have gesture texting! It just never stops getting more Awesome! :good:
Also Holo Launcher that comes with Slim Star did a Play store update of itself to v2.01. Nice launcher that comes with Slim Star, I set as default, has really good solid Settings organization, never "forgets" my settings like some ROMs did, also wrap around Home screens which I missed for awhile. And it doesn't try to be Phablet, which personally for me I didn't like about some ROMs.
I then disable the following Apps that I don't use (don't know if this is a good idea or not, but it seems to work)
Apollo (I use Walkman)
Google Partner Setup
Google Play Music
Music
Picasa Uploader
Picasa Web Albums
Seeder

I found an Apk file for Cyanogenmod's Focal camera and thought I'd share with you guys. Mods, if this is something that shouldn't be shared let me know and I'll remove this post.
Front camera force closes but the options are fun to play with.

Thanks to cyanogenmod team for this great app, really a great job
This seems to force close when stitching PicSphere compositions together. Does this happen for anyone else?
I believe the CM team was already asked about the possibly putting this application into the Play Store but it's not going to happen anytime soon. Focal is still being actively developed as an open source project and integrated with CM10.2 ROMs.
Being open source you shouldn't have a problem posting the APK here, but you may see changes in the application as often as a daily basis. It's also being integrated with CM10.2 so I don't think anyone has been putting in any effort to debug the application to work with other ROMs like the Sense or GE bases.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend using Focal unless you are actually running a CM10.2 nightly build which already has Focal included.
This app doesn't work for me. I have a TMO HTC One, unlocked bootloader, rooter, TWRP, Maximus 7 (4.1.2 Sense Based ROM) , and ElementalX Kernel. Any ideas why it wont load? It just says Focal has stopped, as soon as I open the app.

anyone working on this yet? just asking
No Google now
I had to look up on youtube to see how the dialer functioned. I have used the launcher which I do not care for, and really have not found a great desire for the google now features which seem to be deeply integrated in that dialer.. I think one more generation and I may be interested.
It looks like on the home page of xda that Kitkat is already being worked on by cyanogenmod for certain devices. You may want to check there.
Enjoy!
