It's from the nexus 4 dump ages ago, but it works well enough. Make sure you enable it in language and input settings

looking for good chinese writing keyboard on galaxy nexus !
I was using htc keyboard with chinese writing on my old desire with cm7.1
but i reading some old post told me that htc chinese keyboard can not using on galaxy nexus !
swype beta has pinyin but not handwriting.
You can try TouchPal Keyboard. I use it on my Nexus and it works well. Download the TouchPal Handwriting Pack for Chinese handwriting recognition. Install the Pinyin pack if you need pinyin as well.

Give the "Baidu Input" a try -- you can find it on the marketplace. I think it's pretty good.

PenPower for GENX is already removed from Android market since 15 Apr.....sad......
I use MultiLing, plenty of input options for Chinese and a responsive dev on Google+.

"Baidu Input" have too much simplified chinese !
Does it have also traditional input?
Hi guys.
I had struggle using the stock keyboard and it was a bit of hell looking for an alternative.
So I came across one of my favorite keyboard ever since on my Nexus. The AOSP keyboard but of course, ported from CM10. So credits to the devs of CM10
If you will like to flash it as well. I have it on my drop box
AOSP JB Keyboard
http://db.tt/xbIrWe7h
Installation Steps:
1. Power off your S3 phone
2. Boot into recovery for CWM
3. Navigate to the download folder of your internal memory
4. Flash and reboot.
When you reboot. Don't forget to go into
Settings > Language and input. Click then second option to make AOSP your default keyboard.
Its fast and flawless. In my opinion, uses less RAM too.

Díky mnoho, opravdu ram paměti méně a funkční.
Downloaded OK, flashed OK, rebooted OK.
However, there is still only the Samsung keyboard present in Settings > Language and input!
What am I doing wrong?

Few questions I have,
Dose this replace anything (setting/existing keyboard) or just adds the AOSP's keyboard?
Should it work on all roms? -odexed/deodexed/ICS/JB...
Dose it support all of the stock languages?
And can it be uninstalled?
Sorry if some of the questions are elementary but I'm having some backup issues so I'm double-checking everything I install... (better be noob then sorry)

It doesn't replace your keyboard. It just installs as an extra keyboard so it's up to you to choose which one you want as a default keyboard. Either Aosp key board or Samsung keyboard.
It works on odex and deodexed.
I'm not too sure if it works on ICS, although it should.
It works very well on Jelly bean.
If you want it uninstalled, simply flash you Rom again and it wipes it off.
On the other hand, you can use your file explorer to open the .zip and go to > System> apps>
Install LatinIME.apk just like a normal application.
That way it won't be a system app and you can easily uninstall from your applications manager without having to flash your Rom all over again.

Hey guys. I'm looking for the Android AOSP keyboard with Emojis. I've downloaded multiple 4.2 Android Keyboards and none seem to have Emojis. I'm not rooted as of yet, as I lost my USB cord. I just need a link to a download that would have it. Thanks
The 4.2 keyboard and emoji keyboards are two different keyboards. Once you install them both you can switch between them. You said you already installed multiple 4.w keyboards so keep them installed. Look on the second and third pages of this section there's a thread called 4.2 emoji keyboard and there you can find links and how to install it.
Using my phone so I can't post a direct link to there. But should be easy to find.

You can change it from the emoticons key to enter key, also this isn't a flashable zip, not sure how to do one, but to install this:
1. Delete mms.apk in /system/apps
2. copy and paste new mms.apk in /system/apps
3. Set permissions
4. Reboot
Works great! Thanks!
Worked really well. Thank you!
Also for those wondering you have you enable quick emoji in the settings.

I was thinking about flashing this. Do you have the stock apk available in case anyone wants to flash back, or would I have to reflash the rom?

This entire process needs root, no way around it. Not to mention this site is pretty useless for completely stock devices anyway.

HTC One X here...all good. Amazing
Hmmm, I can't seem to get this to work as I says the app can't load and just closes.
Is there a way to make it work using a theme?
It doesn't show up properly using a theme but works well in stock

This is the only feature I was missing from aosp rom. Pop up on sms is a must. Quick question tho.
Your file is 2.7 and from aokp (cm10.1 for nexus 4) the file size is 3.1. Smaller size than aokp but somehow it lags when i open up the messages from a person. why is that?

I am not sure about the lag but the reason the file is older is because it was pulled from somebody else on this forum, they had one with facebook EMOJI and one with stock emoji. This is the stock one and in cm10 you don't have a quick emoji button option which I like but in AOKP the popup is ugly imo. Thats why the app is older.
Wife hates stock keyboard. I found the one that was posted in themes and apps but it is the old. Need the updated one. Thanks in advance.

Mine was an apk. You didn't have to flash. And the 4.2 keyboard isn't much different than the 4.1. It just has swype features now and better correction.
