Changing Galaxy Note II lock screen - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to change the lock screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, mine is currently the ripple screen with the feather on it, but I want to change it to something else e.g. say a dark screen with red LED writing or what ever.
Thanks

You mean wallpaper? You can do it in display settings.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium

No I mean the lock wallpaper it's the screen where you swype to unlock and you get that ripple effect.

My apologies sorry your correct got it bit pity it does not give me more options to choose my own
Sent from my GT-N7105T using xda premium

Setting - display - wallpaper - lockscreen
Doesn't give you option to select one from own gallery?

Put the pic in internal memory then it should pop up in gallery. Use gallery to use that pic.

You guys clearly do not understand what he is asking, so why give bull**** answers? You don't have any option to pick any pictures to use from any gallery for the lock screen. You can change the wall paper, any idiot knows that on any phone!

A bit rude don't you think? And a bit to many ANYs in your sentence. So many in fact that your sentence doesn't' have ANY sense.
Of course you can change wallpaper for launcher and wallpaper for lock screen separately, is that what he is asking?

Lol wtf guys chill out! The OP is asking for a lockscreen replacement.
If you want to use a different or themed lockscreen just head over google play and download Go Locker EX. Theres tons of themes to look for, and also it has pages like 4.2.2 lockscreen.

Yes that is what he asking. Not changing the ****ing wallpaper ;p I was being sarcastic in saying you can't change it ;p
You absolute ****! ;p Originally he was asking about lock screen specifically. Not the wallpaper. My comment was about how everyone is quick to give their hints and tips without even reading what someone is wanting. What the ****ing use is that? I think thats rude, not the amount and ANYs in my sentance.
Now I do hope this makes some type of sense to you. Stupid time wasting usless turd.

Lol... op.. There is three types of locksreen for us to use.
First is like u mentioned.
Second is pattern lock where u draw a pattern to unlock.
Three is good old pin number
Not sure if there is face unlock where it uses front camera to scan your face. If matches ur face will unlock the phone. This also work by holding your photo in front of the phone to unlock...

you have beastmod 4.0 huh? asked earlier but no one replied. OP of beastmod said he would changed it in the next update though

I use a replacement lock screen app called widget locker. As someone who hates the stock lock screen I can't recommend it highly enough.

I worked around it using the ICS theme. That cleaned it up. Very nice theme by the way. That black font over the white date was pretty ugly.

Actually I own W.L. but removed it a while back. Some of these apps make a simple thing into a complex operation. It just had too many options to keep track of.

feel android ux

damn need this on the gnex. could this be made to work with theme chooser

You can accomplish this UI with the current apps on the playstore... Desktop Visualizer, Widget Locker, Multi Live Wallpaper and a little Gimp/Photoshop to make the wallpaper and some time... boom you have a very basic UI I think sharp isn't going to go anywhere with this.

I don't get why they put icons inside of squares. Its like putting an icon inside an icon which leaves you with a 3 column app tray. Think about all the scrolling you'd have to do.
The lock screen is cool and I'm sure the app store will have something similar soon enough.

its similar, use multi-live-wallpaper and set crop to "Fit to screen" (this is my version of it) if anyone wants it. I personally do not like this UI but I thought i would take a step toward what some ppl want. Ill make the icons 2mrw if you guys want em. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffkbkwgxqvm681a/FEELUI.rar Enjoy!

this is more than just a home screen transition.
nothing out there (that i have seen at least) gives you vertical scrolling on the home screen as well as horizontal scrolling.
also, the lock screen is more than just a widgetlocker theme. the clock wont be on the bottom, and it wont scroll, the lock screen wallpaper wont scroll, you cant slide the lock icon up, and get the options, you dont get the nicer looking missed call/mail/sms pop ups.
this goes MUCH further than just some skin.
I just read an article about this from The Verge and i'm intrigued. The developers created Next interface and seem to be onto something. They feel the desktop is an unnecessary step to get to the app tray. Fair point, why have a bunch of apps then hit a button to get to your other apps? In the quest to be pc-like, Android has a desktop and widgets. Great, but I do see the point being made here. Oh, and notifications were redesigned.

A full port would be amazing. It would become my daily for sure, it's so creative and the design and fonts and everything is so beautiful. I love clean looks.
Would love a port...but its not gonna be out for a while...considering Feel UX phones arent even out yet in Japan.

Very impressed with the slick lockscreen, but not so impressed with the basic UI otherwise. Although I couldn't understand what he was saying, adding lines in between rows of icons is not a feature.

Nexus 7 Wallpaper

While waiting on hold for Google support a few weeks back, I decided to slap together a wallpaper for my Nexus 7 (and its coming replacement)... and I rather liked what I came up with, so I figured I'd share it (them) here. The size is ever so slightly off, but it's close enough that the scaling isn't noticeable.
Lossless PNG versions can be nabbed below (sorry they're not hotlinks; I'm too new to the forum):

I like the pic but can't really figure out how to use it well.
If I go to gallery and choose set as wallpaper it gives me a crazy sliding box system that can never cover the whole pic. Is that what u guys are using?
Edit:it looks pretty small in gallery btw.maybe 1/4 screen
Great one.
Thanks.

You can resize the crazy sliding box. Just grab one of the blue dots on the side and drag outwards to make it bigger.

This is driving me slowly insane.
I cant do it. The box wont get big enough to cover the entire picture so I end up with a stretched image.
This has been the only thing so far on android that seems ridiculously complex. Why cant I just choose the picture I want?

It's really not that complex. The OP stated the size is slightly off, so it will looked a little stretched.

You can use mulitipicture live wallpaper or wallpaper wizardrii to set the wallpaper without cropping it. If you use mulitipicture live, you open the app by long pressing the screen, choosing live wallpaper, and then choosing multi picture live wallpaper.
You can then set a still wallpaper for each home screen or for all home screens, have it scrolling or not scrolling, have it stay put or rotate with the homescreen, etc...

Lock screen wallpaper defects! What the hell is this?

If I set the same wallpaper to home screen and lock screen, the lockscreen one looks so bad. It looks almost like the screen is defective. It has blotches of discolorations mostly on the left side of the screen.
I know screen is perfect cuz whem I open the same image from gallery its perfect. Even on the home screen it looks perfect.
It drives me crazy. Its more visible if you out pure black wallpaper. It looks like you dropped bleach on the left side of screen.
What the hell is this?

Transparent Status Bar/Lockscreen

Maybe I sound like a dummy but I notice that if you put in your own custom wallpaper, the statusbar turns black like on the S3, but if you use the Samsung wallpapers, it is transparent. Is there anyway to make it ALWAYS transparent?
Also, is it possible to have multiple widgets with a PIN? Because I notice once you put a pin in, Samsung disables alot of the things you can do with the 4.2 lockscreen, which is dumb and defeats the purpose...

Nope. You answered your own question. Even without a PIN, they hork a lot of what 4.2 can do stock. Yet another reason why AOSP-based ROMs are superior.
Nova launcher has the option to set transparent notification bar on custom walls.
