YouTube help! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I switched ROMs from AOKP to AOSPTW or whatever its called. YouTube in the market said it couldn't update because the file was signed incorrectly or something. I uninstalled YouTube using titanium backup and now Google play says "incompatible update" or something. When I try to restore my backup it keeps going and never restores. Any help in getting YouTube back without having to flash anything, or reflash anything?

Use a file browser, open up the ROM zip, navigate thru the files until you get to the system/apps, copy the you tube all and paste it into your system/apps. Make sure you fix the permissions. Reboot and you'll have it back. It was purposely signed the way it was to make it work with the ROM. If you read his thread he explains it several times. Or, you can reflash the ROM wiping only dalvic and cache.

Maybe switching ROMs or re-flashing your current ROM will work. Give it a shot, backup your apps of course.

Are they apps that you have ever had installed? Try installing an app that you have never had installed and see if that works. If it does, then use a file explorer (I use astro), and see if there's anything in the folder titled ".android_secure" (without the quotes of course) on your sdcard. I actually had this problem before, and there was some left over app data that was interfering with the installation I guess
geez was hoping this would work but I just checked my astro application and checked android secure and all directories are empty. also this is a problem with applications that I ready have that need to be updated and brand new applications I am downloading from the market... I just get a triangle with an ! in the middle of itfor each application that did not successfully install... and this is a brand new problem haven't done anything different been running the newes t fresh for months now

What is your memory situation?
Froyo apps2sd ? A2sd ?
GO into recovery and clear cache and Dalvick cache.
Try wiping the market data this happened to me couldn't update or install anything and it worked

Did you install your previous apps from the market or did download apk's then install them? Try Settings>Applications>Manage Clear market cache and data that might work like the other person said. Check your memory. What rom are you using? Try backing everything up then go do a factory reset and then setup up your google account that's what I did when that happened to me months back and seemed to work. Hope I helped

YouTube app

Has anyone one on the stock GB ROM (2.3.4) been experiencing problems with YouTube? App version is also 2.3.4 and this just happened 2 nights ago. The story goes: was watching some videos answer after a short while of browsing the app force closed and now everytime I try to launch the app it launches the system settings instead. It does this when I click on it from the home screen or the app tray, I have already uninstalled all updates and prior to doing so I wiped all the app cache. After re-installing all updates it is still experiencing the same issue. The only way I can launch the app is to use my browser and find a video I would like to watch, upon launching said video I have the option to tell it to open in the YouTube app.

Are you rooted? If so uninstall all youtube updates, then use a file explorer to go to /system/app, and delete the youtube apk. Then go to /data/data/ and delete the com.google.android.youtube folder. Reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache and then reboot. Once booted install the youtube app from the market again.
Sure am, I'll give it a shot. I'll post the results. Thanks for the reply!

Had to install root explorer but I got root access and deleted the files. Dinc kept restarting and the files would automatically be restored, didn't get as far as wiping dalvik cache because I wasn't able to get into recovery for some reason until reflashing using rommanager. I did re-install the updates and now it is working again.

How to Re-Install Stock System Apps

I accidentally erased my stock calendar (running Stock FD26 ROM). When I try to re-install the calendar apk (TW and not the Stock ICS calendar that can be found on CM9/AOKP), it will not work.
Many people on xda and other forums have said to copy the apk via root explorer to system/app, check all permissions then reboot.
I copied and pasted the apk to system/app, checked all permissions, and reboot. Nothing happens. This also happened with the voice recording app. Can anyone give me some advice?

I am sure someone can help you but personally to be quick about it shouldnt Odining over a stock build replace all the system apps? Certainly would undo other things you have done. Sfhub one click odin the same version use the no data one.
So i disabled it when I was on FC24. I used sfhubs no data wipe to get FD26. I guess I could try again.

Whenever you flash the FD26 OneClick, it will reinstall all the apps that came with FD26. If you flash the NoData, it'll keep your existing data partition.
Therefore, if you flash the NoData version, the calendar apk should be put back in place.

Flashing gapps

Unrelated to the epic...I rooted my sisters phone while she was visiting over the weekend. She had to leave before I could flash CM7 on her phone so I'm doing it remotely right now. Her phone is old and has no support really so I'm asking here. When I try to boot in CWM it won't. I have figured out why but cannot fix it remotely. Is there a way to get gapps installed without going through CWM? Like download the .apk files individually and install them so she can at least log into her google account until I can fix it?

I think maybe you could download the gapps zip, extract it somewhere, and copy the apk files into the /system/app folder on the root of the phone. You'd have to use a file manager on the phone with root access, I recommend ES File Explorer, if you use this one then you have to tic a couple settings: Up to Root, Root Explorer, and Mount File System. After you copy the files into the system/app folder (ON THE PHONE, NOT ON THE SD CARD) then reboot the phone and should hypothetically be working.
Without having gapps, she will need to install amazon app store to get es file explorer, unless you want to track down the apk for it for her. As long as her browser is working she should be able to download the amazon app store without any trouble.
Thank you! Will give it a try.

Hm it keeps saying copy failed which sounds like there is no root but there is and things can be deleted. Anyone good with adb know if it can be flashed that way?

Weird. It installed googleservicesframework but nothing else. I still can't write anything to the root but I can delete. Its like I have half a rooted device. But I get an "install parse failed no certificates error" when I try anything else.

Alright, i firgure out the problem and how to fix it.
Download the apk you want to install, put the apk file under data/app or system/app. You need es file explorer or root explore to do so. After that go to your twrp or cwm recovery and do fix permission.
Hope this helps!
