That would depend on if you flash a custom ROM. What are you using now?

Ai ai ai... I'm so lost xD
My model is: SGH-T889
Ok, I rooted it using odin, then I used cwm6-root-note2. Then I installed Tweaked1.5.UVALL4.030613. And it worked fine, but I want to un-root it, (I may root it later again) so I did this guide: http://www.andromods.com/unroot-loc...estore-stock-no-root-reset-flash-counter.html but it only put it like in factory settings but I still have some of my old apps (such as: Goomanager, LMT) and the old design, so it it didn't reset it completely... Also I can't still do the updates, on the widget app (update) is a question mark and when I click in software update it doesn't do anything.... I also but a memory of 32 Gb in case I have to put some files in order to format the system or something. So how do I put it like the first time I had it from the store and delete everything rooted?

Keep in mind rooting gives you root level admin rights to the Android OS. Think of it as being an admin on your PC
Think of tweaked as a custom version of Windows. To go back to your original stock ROM I would suggest using the NoteII toolbox to flash the original factory image on your phone.

Sorry, NoteII toolbox? I googled it and it didn't appear. Where can I find it?
I was thinking to do this:
From custom rom : reflash stock image via Odin .reroot by CF auto root, reset counter with Triangle Away App,SuperSU/Setting/Full unroot . Recovery / Factory reset.
Can find stock firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/ search for T889
Would that fix it?

Because I don't know how to install the updates from here or where to find them and I want to know how to do it so in the future when I sell my phone to get the note 3 ( xD ) I can unroot it fast becasue I know
EDIT: Ok, I've already unrooted it and installed the new update.
For those with the same question: What I did was simply this:
From custom rom : reflash stock image via Odin .reroot by CF auto root, reset counter with Triangle Away App,SuperSU/Setting/Full unroot . Recovery / Factory reset.
And I found mine here:

Yes you can, and here's what you need.
First download the stock odin tar that has a rooted system image injected into it:

This one is completely stock, just root-injected.

I followed this guide but substituted the latest version of Odin in place of the suggested version. The key for me was to pull the battery. This most likely will trip your counter but you can use the triangle away app to clear it.
I was just concerned because my Baseband Version is "I747UCLH9" and the download is "I747UCALG1"
If you didn't get it rooted yet go to rootgalaxys3.com for full instructions if u just want to to root and stay on stock that's how it begins I am very new to this but I highly recommend it. doubt after root u would stay on stock he even has his own rom, based off stock nice rom for those who like touchwiz.

This.
I can't find anything on XDA saying that I can flash the UCALG1 over the OTA update that gave us UCLH9 without hassle. I guess no one has the HCLH9 version root injected yet? Or am I missing something here. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great, thank you.
You can flash cwm from Odin reboot into recovery flash su and enjoy . Oh and use triangle away to reset the counter.

This is the best way. Flashing root-injected LG1 requires doing a factory reset and then updating to LH9 again.

Hello, regarding my root. :(

So I have been rooted for a couple months now with no problems at all, I do have the t-mobile note 2 which is model # SGH-T889. And I opened up Superuser and there is an unroot button which was not check but soon became checked I was unaware at the time you can even unroot a phone via a program. Is there a way to reverse this problem, all of my rooted apps no longer allow me to open them up, But for say wallpappers and some other apps I was able to keep them
www(dot)/gyazo(dotcom)/74c27571285f3d19f866b09be020013a
That is what my Titanium backup says above.
I also tried installed the newere SuperSU or whatever that didn't work either.
And even still "Software update" "Your device has been modified.Software updates are not available" Hit OK, I only just found out today there is a program called "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper" Only had I known about this program yesterday none of this would have happened, in the "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper"there should be check marks allow me to uncheck/recheck and there is no huge button for backup/unroot/root. that tells me I'm not rooted I guess.
A buddy of mine actually helped me root via teamviewer And I do not have the proper kit/know how to do it for my model #. If someone can help me in another way besides just rerooting the original way that would help. But if not if you have a known good rootkit for my situation.
I am sorry if this is not in the right section under my phone. I wanted to put it in the dev area but read that they will delete it if you put it there, even though It would seem that is the proper area since this is a rooting situation.
If you guys need any more information about my issue please ask

Are you sure it is rom I need to DL, Don't I need to be rooted first to get the rom on there? My problem is my phone is half rooted, titanium backup says clear busybox and one other app, but every single other app says I need to be rooted, Along with that being weird when I try to do a software update. It tells me that I have a modded device so I cannot do it. In the mean while before I reroot again I would like to get the most recent update.

[Q] S3 i747M ROOT QUESTIONS

I own a i747M Galaxy S3 on the Rogers network, and I'm interested in rooting my device to install CM 10.1 ROM. I would like to clear up my questions and concerns fully before attempting something that if preformed wrong, could damage - or fully brick - my device.
A few of my XDA resources:
SIII ROOT/ROMs/TOOLS
Noobs Guide to Root, Flash, and More
Stock ROM Firmware
Questions &/or Concerns:
In regards to the Firmware downloads: Which download do I choose under the Rogers section in order to get the complete factory image of the Rogers S3?
Is it worth it to do the CWM method that avoids triggering the Flash Counter?
More questions will likely come as I remember.

From one of your links to install rogers firmware pre rooted, you want this firmware which was the first from Rogers section http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23017610006234402
Here is where you can download the 4.1.2 rogers stock un-rooted firmware. The first one labeled RWC is for Rogers Wireless. http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I747M
Personally I do not worry about the flash counter because you can install 'Triangle Away' and reset the counter from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114

Oh, thanks. Should I just use the Samsung link for the stock ROM? In my link it has like 3 different files under the Rogers section. Is that root a good one? I am not sure if there are different roots.
Is flashing a rooted file with oden the best way to root?
The absolutely simplest way for you to get root is to flash this in odin.
http://download.chainfire.eu/269/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-d2can-d2vl-sghi747m.zip
It will give you root access without reinstalling the whole rom. If you want instruction on how to use this file, here is the source link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963790.
After installing this you can download Rom Manager from the play store to install CWM
At this stage don't worry about your flash counter. You can reset it to 0 later.
AT&T GS3 memory problem
I hope I'm putting this in the correct forum on this website. If not will someone guide me to the right place?
After rooting my AT&T GS3 and loading lots of apps and doing backups, I noticed it was running out memory. When viewing the Storage and available space on the phone it indicated the bulk of memory was taken up by "Miscellaneous files". I connected the phone to my computer and with Windows Explorer navigated to my phone. Once there I saw, as I suspected, it appeared the problem with my phone's internal memory being almost all used up was because I had done way too many backups, some with the phone's backup and some with other apps with backup capabilities. Figuring I could take care of that easily enough, I used my computer's Eraser program I erased several of the older backups. After disconnecting the phone, rebooting, etc. I went into the phone's Settings & Storage to see how the memory then looked. The phone shows that I now have Available space of 8.43 GB, because the Miscellaneous files space went down from about 11GB to 2.03GB. Here's my problem... even though the phone Storage indicates I have all kinds of available memory, I get errors when existing apps try to download updates to apps and some new apps telling me there is not enough memory available. Short of restoring the phone to pre-rooting and then having to reload all my apps and re-root, is there a way (using CWM or other) to get the phone to re-recognize the available memory? If someone could give me a link to where to answer is I would be very grateful
If you have successfully installed CWM, try wiping cache, and then wipe dalvic cache. Dalvic cache is in the 'advanced' section under wipe menu. This will force android to reload all the app memory and may fix your issue.

Thanks BCSC for the assistance. I did a wipe on both caches, but after re-boot the phone still gave me memory errors when apps tried to update. But that's OK, because I installed another backup from my external SD card (1 of 4) and it looks like the memory problem went away. I was going to go through a re-install of each of backups to see if I happened to have made a rooted one before the memory filled up. I got lucky because the first backup on the list did the trick. :good:

Yes sir, that is correct. When you click that link you will see the info for it stating that it is the Google apps for 4.2.2 which is CM10.1

Oh, my bad, the auto root includes a custom Odin for the auto root.
I am just wondering, what's the difference between using the auto root and using normal odin such as the method in the noobs root guide? More steps?
As for installing CWM through ROM manager: it prompts me to select my device and the only S3 there is MetroPCS.
Press menu button and you will see 'show all devices.' You will find it in there

I think I am just going to start over. Although, I flashed that stock link you sent me earlier, and I still have superSU.

Update without OTA and Kies

Been searching and I can't figure this out.
I have a rooted S3 and I can't get 4.1.2 OTA.
I also have no access to a PC I can install Kies on.
What is another solution to getting the update on a rooted S3?
Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, you can just flash a debloated stock 4.1.2 ROM from the development section.

Yeah I have CWM recovery.
This shouldn't mess with settings right? the reason I haven't messed with ROMs on this one is because it's all set up like I like it.
EDIT: NV can't flash with Odin. I have a Chromebook. I need a zip to send over Kies air and flash through CWM

I never recommend dirty flashing (flashing one ROM over another, especially when updating to a newer version of android) it eventually just leads to problems and you'll have to start over again sooner or later.
If you do it the right way, you will have to re-setup the ROM again, pictures, music and files like that will be fine but you'll lose all of your settings.
If you do decide to flash ROMs, before you do, search how to backup your imei, you'll be glad you did if you ever lose it.

It's stock rooted is all, don't want to delete everything just for 4.1.2.
I'll keep searching but it would be easiest to find the update zip file, especially since I won't have access to Odin or anything else to back stuff up and flash in an efficient way
EDIT:
Would sending this zip to the sdcard and apply update through CWM work?

That's the firmware for Odin it looks like. If you want you can just download the OTA from my firmware thread. Flash in CWM and it should work and allow you to preserve root. Probably the easiest way to get what you want. If you can use Odin from another computer, root66 is definitely preferred, but there's more than one way to do it.
I agree about the dirty flashing, for the most part. Since you are simply updating the stock firmware, you should be fine. Clean is better of course, but it's up to you. Without starting clean.you do run the risk of having issues down the road, and then you wouldn't even know why.
If you decide to try the OTA, please take a few min to read what I've got there.

s3 brick....

What i did..: I flashed trough kies when im already on 4.3 then i got the yellow triangle after the attemp. since i could go to download mode, i flashed twrp using odin. that helped to get the yellow triangle away and i can now go to recovery....
does any one has a clean zip of the 4.3 rom? i have downloaded lots of the odexed roms but in one way or another the phone freezes or turns off itself.. i have been looking to get the 4.3 rom 100% virgin and then probably root myself....
does any one has it?
i have downloaded the update43.zip file that is around but it gives me anerror when installing.

Apparently Att does not have a 4.3 official firmware, the best thing you can do (if you want a stock rom) is flash a stock-based rom. Make sure that you don't flash anything with a bootloader lower than 4.3 or you're phone will brick.
