that's problem of all CM10 roms you can change theme,it won't solve fully your problem but you can see difference.

JellyKing works perfectly. Even the Nameless CM10. Make sure you're doing wipe data/factory wipe in your recovery to ensure no apps are left making your phone lag. Also, Nova Launcher works best in my opinion.

Our CM10 does not support project butter so it won't be very smooth.

Disable dithering.

+1 for jellyking 2.0. Also oc to min 787mhz or it will lag. And don't use trebuchet launcher. I use Nemus Launcher which is really light weight.

[Q] Stock gingerbread launcher.

Please tell me why people like it? It has 3 non changable icons that stay one color and looks like its out of place compared to the rest of a home screen setup.
Just wondering whats so great about it? Am i missing something?

different strokes for different folks.
It gives more of a stock feeling than ADW. And the trashcan is on the bottom dock, the only reasons I used it, then I moved to ADW for honeybread

I actually think it looks a bit better than adw. It gives more of a clean look.

Because the app drawer is the best app drawer of all of them! Especially with a phone with good graphics!

Isn't the same effect app drawer available on adw and lppro?
Sent from prison
Well gb launcher2 is just so much smoother then adw or lp. Home screen scrolling is buttery smooth, and the transition for opening the app drawer is much nicer then the other two. The app drawer cube effect shows 5 rows in the fold compared to the others. Now that I can use themes in CM7 without adw, I use it.
And in the stock launcher the apps in the drawer "bounce" much smoother than LP, not as laggy
I believe i read somewhere on here that the stock launcher is hardware accelerated. That is why is runs faster and smoother.
I personally prefer anything stock. Stock apps seem, to me at least, to be smaller and faster. Try to keep the fluff to a minimum.
I love stock anything! My Nexus One made me love the 3D app drawer, and on my G2, its only smoother! I can't wait to see how smooth a stock dual core Android 2.4 phone from Google is gonna be! The G2x is a good example, however it will be froyo, meaning not fully dual core compatible like 2.4 will be! My guess....Nexus X by Motorola! I can wish, can't I??

I just love that stock vanilla google experience...same when ICS, Jellybean drop...ill stick to stock...no overlays or launchers for me...BTW is there a zip I can flash for the gingerbread launcher over adw in CM7..? (There was one for NS)
Edit: I know there's a couple in the market but those aren't as smooth as the ones in NS Development...

Hey,
I really didn't have to do anything but flash it. I flashed this over the ILWT cm7 rom and it just worked right out of the box (on 187b as well as 204).
I wouldn't know how to improve the performance of the launcher, except for common guesses such as reflashing/wiping and such.
Maybe it's just a different understanding of what "working really well" means. I never did get it to work perfectly buttery smooth, a very tiny lag always remained (even though it was running a lot better than adw).

[Q] CM 7.2 lag in menu

When i operate with menu with Cyanogenmod 7.2 (by Phiexz) then my menu lags. It has to be like that? It isn't smooth.
No.
Set clock speed higher if possible..
Alsouse less background apls, they eat RAM

My clock speed is 806Mhz and no background apps are running.

your using the adwlauncher that comes with CM7.2?
try rebooting to recovery and clearing cache?
The stock ADWlauncher that comes with CM is laggy. Try any other launcher like Launcher Pro
Yes, I am using the original launcher. I will try something different then.

[Q] Looking for a new Launcher

Hi guys,
I'm looking for some suggestions for a replacement launcher. I've been using CM7.2 on my wildfire for a while, and I love it, but the included ADW launcher is just a bit laggy.
I've tried Launcher Pro, and its almost perfect, except that it keeps giving me FCs, and its not been developed for a while now.
Lightning Launcher is supposed to be smooth and light, but I can't get it to work, just a black screen.
Zeam seems ok, but isn't quite as smooth as Launcher Pro, plus no scrolling widgets.
The things I'm looking for is something smooth and lightweight, and if it can support scrollable widgets, then even better.
Can anyone offer suggestions?
I used ADW... And it was OK then... Check your Over/Underclocking settings (This could make your phone smoother to run... You can use RAM Manager (from PlayStore) also to manage RAM. Cheers.
Buy ADWex or holo launcher is similar.if you search around there is a thread of all launchers.
MokeeOS
ok, as for my overclock / underclock settings, I'm running stock speeds, and using the SmartAssV2 governor. My aim is to make the phone smooth, and get a good battery life from it.
Is ADWex faster than ADW standard?
Try Nova Launcher or Trebuchet, I prefer Trebuchet.
Sweeterhome is also another!
I thought Nova and Trebuchet were for ICS+?

You are right, they're for ICS and up
I prefer launcherpro, It's the fastest with the best customization
It's not FC on my wildfire, I'm using LeWaOS ROM.
It wasn't FC also when i was using CM7.2
Did you try fixing permissions from recovery ??

Nemus launcher serves good as well.

I totally forgot about that, I'll give it a try!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I'm also going to give all these other launchers a try.
Also, I made a mistake earlier. FTL Launcher was the one that I couldn't get to work at all, not Lightning.
Any others worth a go? I found an english translation of 360 Launcher that I'm going to give a try also.

The right settings are the settings that work best for you/ the rom your using/your rom setup and your screen set up! So as you can see......it would be stupid of me to say "these are the right settings " because we all have our own preferences. Just play around until you find your best setup with any launcher you use.

+1 for ADW EX launcher, used to think launcher pro was smoothest but with ADW EX I can get that smoothness with right setting and loads of customization options, where launcher pro falls short.ADW EX is the best launcher IMO!
I only tried preinstalled launchers on roms (aka integrated) and I can say that ADW's the best :good:
LOL now you made me think of readding ADW launcher to LeWaOS ROM

I'd say use either Trebuchet or LauncherPro for ICS
I use Trebuchet and it works relly nice and smooth
Adw ex by far the smoothest for me!

Apex Launcher..laggy?

I've been using nova for a month or so. Pretty nice, but lacks in features. So i stumbled upon apex and it seemed really rich and nice, especially the previews. The only problem.. is that its really lagggy.. and it uses like 80mb ram + How can i make it not lag like in app drawer and going to previews. I have force gpu thingy in developer options enabled. I have aokp jb rom and trinity 1420mhz cpu and 537 gpu kernel
It's just sluggish in general, on stock and nova. If i rapidly scroll through the appdrawer and the widgets. No problem no lag. But with apex it struggles to load the widget icons when scrolling and lags. And it shows in normal use

Yeaaaaaah I had that as well. Just down to coding I believe. So now I switched to codenandsammy using the touchwiz port... honestly is so damn smooth its a joke. Couldn't tell you how to fix the apex lag issue.

holo launcher HD is pretty neat aswell, brings a ton of options. bases on googles original launcher2.
I've been using Nova since I got ICS and I love it. No lag and no complaints. Smooth as butter. Sometimes the CPU governor can cause some lag (like conservative or powersave). Double check to make sure that either of those aren't set.
Apex Launcher has become increasingly laggier recently. I switched over to Nova when it was on sale, and it's been so much smoother for me. Little to no lag or stuttering going through homescreens or when bringing up the app drawer.

[Q] CM10 No transition effects?

Hello,
I've recently updated from cm9 to cm10 and noticed a bunch of options are missing from the launcher, like the transition effects for homescreens and drawer? Are they officially removed?? I still love the cm roms
Trebuchet (the launcher) is updated to 0.2 in CM10; but I don't see the Transition option in CM9 either... Well IDK, use Nova Launcher (or Apex/Holo if you'd like)

I would assume hey will add in the "extra" effects once the core functions and features are completed. It is very impressive on what the team has accomplished so far!
