What model do you have? Carrier? What option did you first choose for a kernel?
You're like the 50th user in here this week with this issue on hyperdrive. It would appear the device type in the build.prop is being is being edited and there is a conflict during the boot process causing this soft brick. Anyone with more knowledge than this please chime in.
If you can still get back into recovery, your options are probably to restore a backup or flash another rom. In download mode you could flash stock stock rooted via odin. If your s3 is not recognized on your pc, there is a flashable stock firmware zip in the link in my signature. In post #2 at the bottom

i'm trying to do is installing the rls 9 and then update see if this help
So the very first time you flashed hyperdrive, you selected at&t and the ziggy kernel and it didn't work? I'm assuming you gave it plenty of time on the first boot up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but hyperdrive is a verizon base, yes? If so, this might be the source of your problem, even though it is a "multi-carrier" rom. You can try wiping data, cache and dalvik in recovery then rebooting. Like i said, though, you will probably have to another route (restore backup or flash new rom). When you successfully boot up next, I would imagine your model is different in about phone

If you're really wanting to get this particular rom going, changing to twrp might help. In my signature there is a link. Near the bottom of post #2 flashable recovery zips are mentioned. Download the twrp one and throw it on your phone. Boot into recovery and flash it. Reboot recovery. Wipe data, cache and try flashing the rom again.

It could take 10 or so minutes for the initial boot. If it takes a lot longer, you can try booting back onto recovery to wipe data and cache again. If this does not work, I would go another route

ok , if not i'll try to flash some other kernels to see if it boots up , i f not i'll just give up on this rom and go back to synergy
When you're back up and running on a rom, go into settings > about phone and tell me what your device is listed as. You may have small issues down the road if your phone has been designated as an SCH-I535 or anything other than SGH-I747. That's an easy build.prop fix, though. Good luck

I can't seem to find this kernel on XDA or google.
Im on my SGH I747M 4.1.1
with kernel 3.0.31-538866 [email protected]#1
Where can I get this kernel to flash?
Reason why I'm asking is i'm trying to flash new kernels and want this as a back up to have it stored so i can restore it.
Unless....TWRP recovery images can recover the kernel when you restore that image?
Thanks!

It's in your ROM zip. Named zimage. Extract that file and you can flash it using Odin.
You can also dirty flash the ROM (without wiping) and it will reflash it.
Btw, reinstalling the kernel doesn't do anything if it's already on your phone. It won't fix anything. If you flashed another kernel though, that's another story.
May we know what you're trying to fix?

I would reflash the rom again clean make sure in aroma you chose full wipe system/data and make sure you don't select S Note and flash again once you do that don't reboot from aroma take check mark off aroma so you don't reboot then in recovery flash your kernel which ever your going to flash after that wipe cache davik then reboot do not set up Google account let it sit for 5 to 10 mins after that reboot one more time then let it sit 5 more min after that then start setting up your google account you should not get that popup or any other issues.

Im sorry if i am posting in the wrong place here. I did try and find my answers though the forums but to no avail so im turning to you guys for help.
I have a UK Samsung galaxy S4. GTI 9505
1- I rooted no problem with Odin3_v3.04 and CF-Auto-Root
2- I used Odin again to install i9505-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.2-4
3- I downloaded and flashed omega rom i9505 v8 this installed no problem and i was happy!
Omega rom was fine everything worked except wifi but i was going to download the modem from omega files and flash that.
What i decided to do was try another rom in the meantime. As im new to roms i wanted to try as many as i can to find what suits so i downloaded WICKED_V4 rom.
(I always wipe cache and dalvik)
The phone reset itself halfway through installing the wicked rom and never finished then it hung at the samsung galaxy boot logo.
So i did a wipe and reverted back to omega rom BUT now that wont even install. i watch it on my screen extracting the files and it gets to a certain file bootsamsung.qmg then the phone resets back to recovery.
Now im stuck. Could anybody advise me on what to do here id really appreciate your kind help
Thanks
Sophia
Use ODIN to revert to stock and start over:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258628
yes, he is correct, ODIN back to stock, and when you get that up and running, you can come over and we will help with the flashing of different roms, thats all we do in my guide thread.
if you need help with odin also, drop by and leave a question there, someone will help.

Good luck.
hello all,
I used Odin to upload a new bootloader to my ATT S3 and that went fine, but where i messed up was my attempt to install gapps. I didnt realize it, but i installed the new 4.3 July 29th versions, which didnt play nice with Cyanogen mod 10. It broke the keyboard before i had a chance to install clock work mod rom manager.
I thought no worries, i will just install the rooted rom through ODIN, but that rom i downloaded wont boot (root66_ATT_I747UCDLK3)
does Odin not format the SD before flashing and thus i still have parts of CM and gapps keeping the stock rom from booting up? does the stock rom take more than 10 minutes to boot the first time?
please help!!!
thanks
stormtrupr
All but one of the att stock ROMS are no wipe flashes. The only 1 that will wipe is LG1. BUT. It will also wrote your internal sd card, which is the same thing that will happen when you factory reset from stock recovery.
I recently rooted my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3 using odin. I loved the features, I flashed the ROM CyanogenMod and had that working just fine. Until just recently I made the mistake of installing a new ROM. I used ROM manager and decided to go with stratatak7 . Now after doing this, my phone has been downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.1 and is not running properly and crashes. So I went back into ROM manager and tried to get CyanogenMod back, but am unable too, every time I try to install I get an error. I am looking for ANY way to fix this. I mainly want to get my phone back to COMPLETE factory settings and Android 4.3. Im currently running Build Number Intergalactic 2.5.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Step #1 - Dont use ROM manger to install roms.
Step #2 - Flash back to stock and start over. If you need help with this there are stickies all over the general and q&a sub forums.

All by itself? Or did you manage to flash back to stock? If so the fix is to boot into recovery and factory reset. Also note it will take a little longer to boot after a stock flash (or wiping the cache) as the cache needs to be rebuilt.
