Hello,
I just want to ask a quick question since im a newbie and I don't know much about rom's, I got a ROM for my phone and today I went into the thread again and he released an update. So I want to ask do I have to wipe everything again or can I just update - flash the rom without wiping on the same rom
Thanks
James

Hi everyone!
I have a question. I installed on my device the RCMixHD v3.0 ROM and I want to put the newer version, 3.5.
Can I update it without wiping all my data?
Not really, 3.5 have a different base. So full wipe recommended.

Well, we can't really know for sure. We'll have to wait when Google releases the ICS source code and see if the devs can cook up something for the Desire. Cyanogenmod team would be a good example.
First of all, this is NOT my work. I was looking for JB Animations for my HOX when I stumbled upon the following thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28464573
Please give thanks to the original creator of the zip.
WARNING: If you're on ARHD, please proceed at your own risk. Some users reported that it's not working on ARHD and some even ended in bootloops. That said, I tested this on ARHD 9.0.0 and it's working fine with no FCs or bootloops. My advice is not to flash the mod in the same session as the ROM if you're doing a fresh install and not to forget Step 4 in instructions. Wiping cache & dalvik also wouldn't hurt though I doubt that's the problem.
Instructions (IMPORTANT):
1. Download the "JB_ANIMS_fixed.zip" from the link above.
2. Copy it to SD card.
3. Reboot into recovery.
4. Go to "Mounts and storage" and "mount /system". (I think we need this 'cause the creator of this mod forgot to mount the system partition in his install script.)
5. Now flash the zip.
6. Reboot and enjoy JB animations!
NOTE: This mod is supposed to work with any ICS ROM. I personally tested it on ViperX 2.0.1 with Sense 4.1. Also, the mod, which I think uses the villain theme system, replaces only select files inside framework-res.apk, not the whole file, so it should work with a modded framework-res.apk too.
JB Animations on SGS III (not my video):
have been looking for this as well! thanks :good:
any problems on your phone after using this?

Did you mount the system partition in recovery? Wiping cache & dalvik might help too.

No need to restore backup. Just re-flash ARHD 9.1 WITHOUT a wipe and it should work again. You will need to re-flash any mods you have though. Sorry for the trouble guys. I'll add a warning.
Will it work on the new 2.17.401.2 stock rom?

Most likely yes but pls make a backup first. I'm using it on ViperX 2.0.1 which is based on 2.17.

Hi Guys,
I am new to flashing. but however i tried my luck at it with my htc one v (gsm).
While installing the rom, the did a factory reset, wipe the cache, delvik cache and the system and then installed the rom "[AOSPA 4.2.2 JDQ39] PARANOIDANDROID 3.1x [beta][08/03/2013]"
After that i booted in boot loader and installed the hellboy kernel. and then installed gaaps.
But now my phone is stuck in boot screen.
Please let me know what i did wrong and how i can fix it.
Regards,
Jerold Vaz
Did you flash the right kernel?

I've not seen that version of Paranoid android ported to this phone, leading me to believe you may have got it for another phone. You need to choose a rom for the HTC One V.

Most stable rom depends on personal opinion. Try them out and see which suits you best. Aside from that, you're not allowed to ask that; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963635
