[MOD] Jelly Bean Transition Animations for HOX (ICS ROMs only) - HTC One X

First of all, this is NOT my work. I was looking for JB Animations for my HOX when I stumbled upon the following thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28464573
Please give thanks to the original creator of the zip.
WARNING: If you're on ARHD, please proceed at your own risk. Some users reported that it's not working on ARHD and some even ended in bootloops. That said, I tested this on ARHD 9.0.0 and it's working fine with no FCs or bootloops. My advice is not to flash the mod in the same session as the ROM if you're doing a fresh install and not to forget Step 4 in instructions. Wiping cache & dalvik also wouldn't hurt though I doubt that's the problem.
Instructions (IMPORTANT):
1. Download the "JB_ANIMS_fixed.zip" from the link above.
2. Copy it to SD card.
3. Reboot into recovery.
4. Go to "Mounts and storage" and "mount /system". (I think we need this 'cause the creator of this mod forgot to mount the system partition in his install script.)
5. Now flash the zip.
6. Reboot and enjoy JB animations!
NOTE: This mod is supposed to work with any ICS ROM. I personally tested it on ViperX 2.0.1 with Sense 4.1. Also, the mod, which I think uses the villain theme system, replaces only select files inside framework-res.apk, not the whole file, so it should work with a modded framework-res.apk too.
JB Animations on SGS III (not my video):

have been looking for this as well! thanks :good:
any problems on your phone after using this?
anyone tried this on 2.17 base roms??

No need to restore backup. Just re-flash ARHD 9.1 WITHOUT a wipe and it should work again. You will need to re-flash any mods you have though. Sorry for the trouble guys. I'll add a warning.

Will it work on the new 2.17.401.2 stock rom?

I am currently running CM10 alpha 4.3 and I am loving it!! Question, when a new build comes out, do i just put it on phone and update it in recovery on top of the previous version, or is it recommend to flash in another manner for it to work properly, also should i wipe data, delvik, cache or anything before flashing a new build?
Keep up the Great work guys !!!!!

[SOLVED] MIUI for JB updated HOX

Hello fellow XDA members,
I was wondering if there are any MIUI ROMs for an HTC One X which has already been updated to the JB ROM (and so has HBoot 1.36). I tried a few one, but none of them worked for me and maybe some of you know a work around.
It's not that I'm too lazy to search, I just want to be sure, since I've just rooted it last week.
Thanks in advance!
Are you flashing the boot.img as well using fastboot?
Apparently this one works on the latest hboot.

Yes I do. I also tried that ROM already, but I thought (I hadn't much time to wait) but I thought it got stuck on the bootscreen.
Thanks for the reply anyway!
The only MIUI ROM that I could get working on newer bases is MIUI.x ROM, but it's still on ICS, but a great ROM nonetheless.

Thanks for the tip. That one worked for me too! Only thing is that I don't like it's theme.
I ended up with MiuiAur, which worked for me! It is ICS Sense based and works flawlessly!

[Q] Why does some ROMs cause the phone to bootloop?

Hi guys,
I'm not very skilled in flashing ROMs, but I do it anyway every other day or so as am curious on what new ROMs can provide. I now longer panic when the phone get stuck at the bootscreen. Now when it occasionally happens I now have time to thinking about the reason for the bootloop - and that's why I start this thread
For some reason there are ROMs that I'm not able in install, like the official nightlies from CM 10 and Liquidsmooth RC9 - but I have no problems installing the "pure" Jellybean 4.2.1 (AOSP), TripNDroid CM 10.1 and Blade v4 (desensed) which I'm currently running.
Can anyone explain why some are able to boot on my HOX and some are not?
For your info, I'm on the Tegra 3 version using HBOOT 1.36 S-ON - Recovery is CWM 5.8.4.0
Thanks in advance.

I always do this - of course I can miss it sometimes. So I always trye reflashing if the phone get stuck in bootloop... But with the above mentiones ROMs I can't install them not matter what I do.
I think it may be caused by your hboot version: 1.36. You may need a special repacked boot.img to run some AOSP/AOKP/CM10 ROMs.
DO you Flash the correct boot.img ???
I always thought the hboot versions was backward compatible?
Regarding the boot.img -> then I alway extrat the boot from the ROM zip - and maybe that's the problem?

That is the problem. For example on official CM10 you need a special boot.img for higher hboots. See post #9308 in CM10 thread.

The fact of the matter is that most of the 4.2.1 based custom rom are compatible with HBOOT 1.28+ on the contrary to 4.1.2 based roms. For second ones U have to flash a special boot.img.

Talking about the boot.img file... Is there a sort of "all-round" boot.img that can be used for all ROMS?

No, such thing doesn't exist. Every ROM has it's own workaround for hboot incompatibilities.
And every ROM uses a different kernel so it would be impossible.

official htc one v miui 3.7.19

Hi,
I found htc one v (miui) was update to be 3.7.19 from official link.

Can I flash this to primo u ? it's a new updated version. Will it's same as Rulling or sk8erboy one ?
I guess that from sk8erboy. May be a thread just not updated. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098740
It is the sk8erboy one. Sk8erboy is the maintainer for HTC One V Miui China. So yes it would be safe to flash. Just remember to use the CM10 Hellboy kernel.

Yep :/.
Sk8's MIUI v5 is the most smooth, I also find his HTC Sense based MIUI V4 smooth as well. Paarthdesai's MIUIv4 CyanogenMod 10 based it pretty smooth as well. But most MIUI ROMs are slow on the One V since it's only a mid-range device :/

The kernel/boot.img is in the rom zip and yes you have to flash it. Not usually with soff but there are very few s-off devices so the Rom's usually don't include the script to flash the boot.img. Do it manually fastboot flash boot boot.img

I'm not on my computer do I can't check what you get with that download. Sounds like you need to flash modules. Till the great Mr Hofs comes back you can try another sense kernel like xm or Alex. Just do a search and flash the boot.img from the kernel you download and then flash the whole kernel.zip in recovery.
