[Q] Windows 8 professional (non-media center) MTP not recognized - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have win8 professional, this does not come with Media center which supports MTP devices out of the box.
So after fresh install, My phone is not recignized by the computer anymore.
Installed drivers numerous times etc.
no go.
My laptop has Win8 premium edition which has media center.
phone connects and shows up as MTP no problem.
I will try installing SDK and see that would make any changes
update: installed samsung drivers and now it's working.

[Q] ADB with Windows XP 64 Bit

I have been searching for several hours, and I am absolutely unable to get ADB to recognize my phone using Windows XP 64 bit. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Unrevoked modified drivers several times to no avail. All I get is "Error: Device Not Found". Does anyone know a trick to getting ADB working on XP 64? I appreciate any and all help.
Thanks!
EVO HW 0003
HBOOT 2.10
MIKFROYO 4.4
Make sure the rom your using has adb functionality included/enabled in the rom.
And make sure usb debugging is enabled under settings/applications
Swyped from a galaxy far far away......
I have connected to the same phone with another computer. All settings are confirmed correct on the phone itself.
I know a trick, but I haven't tried it with the Evo or XP! I bet it works though. I used it to get my hero working with win7 last march, and it worked great.
install PDAnet.
It is a tethering program and has the ADB drivers, should set them up for you.
Also installing HTC sync is supposed to get the drivers working.
Thanks I will give that a shot and report back.
PDANet didn't work but I found an HTC driver for 64 bit windows 7 that did the trick.
Thanks for your help.
Windows sucks and 64 bit XP is a pain in the ass. You need a usb driver or linux.

can u post the driver.?
Here it is. Be sure to uninstall any other drivers. I used USBDeview to uninstall the old drivers. Extract this zip and use the driver inside for Android 1.0 when prompted. It will not show up as Android ADB in Device Manager (showed up as My HTC Phone or something on mine) but ADB connected immediately once I installed this driver.
I doubt that it will work
Works for me!
Been looking at this for two hours now...
Running 64-bit XP - Installed the drivers manually by connecting the device, then selecting not now.... navigated to the drivers, installed BOTH .ini files - not sure if was really two different drivers or not - restarted, reconnected and device showed up.
The name my device function says "Desire" but it seems to work so far (only one sync)

[Q] USB Cant Connect,Code10 ? ? ?

I am having problems with my EPIC 4g Touch and my desktop connecting properly to be able to transfer files and such (Code10).
USB Debugging is on and the latest Epic4g Touch Drivers are installed from the Samsung Site.
Upon Connecting my Phone (Regardless of which port or cable), i get the following
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
If i disable both of the composite devices and then enable them manually, the majority of the time they will work and show up in my computer as drives This doesn't occur on other computers, i am assuming its some sort of driver issue ?
Help would be appreciated.

Have you tried installing Kies?
See this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19443755&postcount=142
The section about changing the location for driver install on 64-bit machines.
It might help.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers and correcting the install path as mentioned for a 64bit os as well as attempting Kies software package.
Similarly both result in...

You can see if there is an package to uninstall under add/remove programs or you can try using system restore to go back to an earlier point before you started installing the drivers.
I've been able to randomly replicate this problem on my epic and have not been able to figure out how to fix it. I ended up setting up a virtualbox VM with 32bit windows and it works fine. When I do a 64bit VM it works sometimes, and others not.
I have Uninstalled all of the Android items in device manager and used control panel add/remove programs to remove the Samsung Drivers with little changes to the behavior.
I am looking for a better way to clean out the driver installs ? ?

Windows 8 - USB Debugging Crash

If I enable USB debugging on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and connect the phone to my Windows 8 machine, the PC crashes.
Has anyone else successfully connected to a win8 pc while in debug mode?
I have problems like this on my win8 too.
Windows 8, while it is in RTM mode, there is still a lot of work to be done on it. I would not recommend upgrading your desktop or notebook, unless you have a touch screen. Win8 is awful in my opinion, with some cool features.

Sadly as an IT admin I don't have the luxury of "Skipping" OS's and must learn them whether I like them or not. I will test this out and get back to you OP.
Thanks. I don't mean for this to turn into the pros/cons of win8, I was curious if others had seen the same behavior.
The system looks like it tries searching for a compatible driver and crashes with a "Bad_Pool_Header" error.
For me windows 8 installed the correct drivers by itself all i had to do is enable it in device manager
Both of my Dell workstations crashed, but my Lenovo ThinkPad didn't. Appears to be hardware/driver related. I'll keep digging.
I also have the same problem and error. Any solutions?
had that problem only once, now it works fine

I resolved the blue screens by installing Samsung Kies which installs the USB drivers for the Galaxy Nexus. Afterwards Windows 8 (Pro RTM 64bit) correctly installs all drivers when using USB Debugging mode, no more blue screens.

That seems to have fixed it! I even uninstalled the Samsung Kies software (but kept the drivers) and everything is working smoothly.
Thanks again.

[Q] HTC ONE M8 + Windows 7 64bit Enterprise usb drivers

Hi There,
HTC ONE M8 Usb is not recognized under windows 7 64-bit enterprise.
tried drivers from HTC sync and tried stand alone drivers.
On a different pc 32bit running windows ultimate it works immidiatly as well as on a VMWARE machine.
any advice please?
Thank you!!!
anyone?!
The latest version of HTC sync drivers should work. However you will have problems with 3rd party drivers on 64bit systems as they are generally not signed and Windows 64 bit will not allow use of these drivers unless you disabled driver signing enforcement

unfortunatly that didnt do any change.
whatever i do windows does not except the driver. I plug in the phone and immidatly it shows with a exclamation mark in the device manager.
tried different ports and different cable, i uninstalled any previous smartphone drivers and software, although it works just fine with another computer running windows 7 (32bit).
any hint on how to troubleshoot?
thank you!!
Solved!
solved by using 3rd party software (wierrrd)
1. install moborobo http://www.moborobo.com/
2. plug the phone with "Usb debugging" ON
3. Accept the "not signed" driver warning
4. It will now automatically install the driver succesfully after which you can uninstall moborobo and the drivers will still work

Worked fine for me when I installed it on my work laptop running the same version of Win 7. I've got admin rights but explicitly ran the downloaded file as administrator and once I had connection confirmed, I deleted the synch manager portion of the installation (hey, great idea - let's make people download and install 130Meg of files just to get Windows device drivers... NOT)
i actually found another way to work with this...
search google for windows xp mode. it will take you to the microsoft website and it will download a pc virtualizer with xp built in. the software is windows xp 32 bit. i just unlocked my bootloader using this and it works great

Thanks for your reply, but drivers are already installed.
When I'm connecting to a different laptop running Windows 10 (where drivers are not installed), there the MTP is working normally.
But not in my laptop running Windows 7.

Uninstall the drivers on the laptop with Win 7 and reboot the laptop, thereafter reinstall the drivers using the tool stated above for MTP . Occasionally the drivers are not installed duly (i.e. Device manager may not indicate the exclamation (We may presume the drivers are appropriately loaded, when in fact the contrary usually occurs) mark or error for the driver) but the transfer of data will be precluded.
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for Win 7 laptop for resolution.
Thank you
