Hello, iam locking for a stock like rom for the desire of my girlfried. The most important thing is stability. Since ive read and expericenced that all gb sense roms crash randomly iam looking for a good froyo rom. Can anyone advise a rom that is still online?

Most GB Roms that I've tried are rock solid. Way better than the stock froyo. Just my 2 cents...

We generally don't allow "best ROM" threads even for old ROMs.

Hi everyone, i'm currently using Leedroid 2.2f and planning to update to 2.3b.
However, i've seen that there's some SenseHD rom in the dev section.
They look really great and i wanted to give one a try... Question is, which one is worth trying and keeping?
Anyone tried some and kept it (at least for more than a week ^^)?
Thanks for your help guys!
I've been using baadnewz's ROM for quite some time with no issues http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861690 I'm not one to flash every new ROM on the block - unless I see a killer new feature somewhere, I'm inclined to leave a working ROM alone.

been using it for a couple of weeks, alot faster and more stable than most of the others.
ReflexTSense 1.4.1 a2sd very nice and fast
I am using Robociks Z Rom v0.5 (came from v0.3), I just love the rotating rosie.
It is fast and without any issue, although people have reported many issues which I can not find on my Desire.
Add another vote for baadnewz's v1.3 - as fast as the stock ROM, no FC's, all fine.
Switched from leedroid to baadnewz too lately. Plan to switch back when leedroid goes hd/new sense/gingerbread.

@Ik Desire: Why? Is it because you find this rom not really great?
Badnews here too.

me too. tried a few others since, but keep coming back to this one.
My vote goes to Alex 1.2HD.
Another vote for badnewz here! I am using an older version but it's working flawlessly
So Baadnewz might be the one i'll try
Thanks.
You guys have made me wanting to try that ROM too...hehehe...

I have tried loads, inc the new leedroid, keep going back to Baadnewz Rom myself, best that I have found so far.
Hey guys I thought it would be interesting to start a poll to find out what are the android versions that people are using on our 2+years old HTC Desire.
For me, I'm running ics.. what about you guys???

Most are using Gingerbread. Some are on ICS. Any user who is still on Froyo at this point probably doesn't have any idea about rooting and or XDA or just wanna be left alone in the past.
No need for a poll or a thread really.

Ye.
Best rom thread with a flavor twist.
I'm on ICS now (miui v4)
MIUI 2.3 working perfectly
ICS too ! With the rom of dk_zero-cool.
Everything runs fast on my old device
would be interesting who is still on 2.1
I think that was the shipping version, right?
Still using xj miui 2.3
Currently on off GB, downloading runnymede's sense 3.5 rom

I'm on Miui ICS... !!! Best ROM ever

I'm using ICS from DK_Zero-Cool (v3.3u1). Most stable one i've experienced until now
MIUI XJ since New year, probably will try with some Sense ROM soon
I'm still using CM7.2 RC1. Very stable and fast.
Could anyone explain to me why everybody is so hyped about ICS? I mean I appreciate what the devs of ICS ROMs do and it's great that they make ICS possible on our old Desires.
I tried Sandvold's ROM and BCM. They're quite good and making good progess, but I always came back to CM7.
I actually don't see a point in switching to ICS (yet) unless you like flashing and testing new ROMs, because CyanogenMod 7 and other 2.3 ROMs seem more stable and faster and they have all the features ICS offers.
Is it the looks of ICS or just that it's new and you want to test it?
I'll probably switch over eventually, but at the moment I'm just curious what you like about ICS.
Hi,
today I got the idea of changing my current ROM to one that is 100% stable, runs very smooth and has a good battery life/low resource use.
I was thinking of a modified Froyo rom like Starburst. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=916417 )
I'm not interested in any extra functionality besides phone-music player. I just need it to do those two things perfectly and to never choke, freeze. (for example my current ROM has frequent freezes of the music app during playback).
What do you think?
Thanks for your time
CyanogenMod7 or MildWild Oxygen, both small, smooth, stable, u wont have any problems. Ul find them both in Desire Android Development. If some1 recommends JB/ICS then just ignore them haha

I think I found CM7 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957344) and I know MildWild and I am using it now. I would like to change it. Overall it's smooth but the music player glitches are getting to me, since I use that several times a day.
CM7 seems incomplete by the looks of some comments. I would like something final.
That being said, thank you for suggesting those two.
You wont find anything more complete than CM7, lol.
Where did you found those "comments" ?
Redux. I think v 2 was the best. Development has long since stopped but it was the most stripped down, battery friendly when I had my desire.
In fact here.......

MokeeOS was really fast and stable for me and gace good battery life. The developer has stopped updates but the current ROM works as good as can be.

Before i was using that, I was using MIUI-XJ which is nice but not that lightweight.
Currently I am trying out Jelly Bean but wi-fi doesn't work for me so I'll probably return to MokeeOS

I too think CM7 would be a good choise, since it is one of the more stable roms i've used

There isn't one
Ask yourself, what is best for you, not what everyone else thinks is best for them.
Or search for 'best Rom' as there are already so many threads...
Install a few, find what YOU like, is always the 'best' way

The last one I liked was LeeDroiD_HD_V3.3.3_GB-R5. That's my default fall back option when an experimental ICS/JB screws up my phone right before a trip.
Or if you need something very basic keep CM7.2.0.1. Always the safest though barebones.
btw..I am on Stock H-boot and all these work great with it.
I recommend trying MildWild Redux 3. It's one of the best roms for the Desire.
Which is the best rom for my Desire? Now I have the Cool Bravo v10 and it's good, but sometimes it seems slow.. Which can I test?
Thanks

Every ROM is different so is every Desire. There is no best ROM that suits all.
Try yourself all of them and settle with what's best for you.

If you want stability and speed, use gingerbread-based ROMs.
But if you want a newer android, jellybean is smoothest than ics.
As JB ROMs, there are many, some with more graphics and some other with more features... but I would suggest CyanoMod007 (best if installed with INT2EXT+ using a class 10 microSD card), which I consider the best one for balance between stability/speed and features/compatibility.
Otherwise, if you can also try SlimROM which is even more fast but contains the minimum of features.
Hope this helps a bit, however the best thing is always wipe and flash until you find the ROM that best suits your needs
Thanks, I've proven the VJ Cyanogenmod, but the camera didn't run and I had problems with some apps..
