CM10 for HTC one V - HTC One V

I an right now using AOKP 4.1.2 primeOu on my device.
I wanted to try CM10 on this.
So what should I do?
Means should flash boot.img again or will it be OK to just boot into recovery and go for the ROM after data and cache wipe.
Another thing is I am having ROM manager on my device. So I want to ask should I do the flashing from ROM manager.
M confused in what to do.

R: CM10 for HTC one V
First rule, never use rom manager,it bricks your phone. And then yep you need to change kernel, just download hellboy for cm10

OK.
Another thing can u just post some link for down hellboy kernel. And also download for the ROM.
As I am bit new to these things right now.

Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1954967 download the latest one, you should see cm10 in the name

Sorry. But I am looking for boot.IMG file. Should I extract it from the ROM.zip or there is some link for that.
If there is it would be great if u can post that to.

kernel=boot.img!
here, www.mediafire.com/download.php?waggdha1ir1lxz0 this should work, just rename it boot.img if it's easier for you, when you use fastboot you can type fastboot flash boot boot.img (if you rename it) or fastboot flash boot nameofkernel.img

Yeah I sort of figured it out.
Anyways than for help. Will try flashing this ROM tomorrow.
my HTC One V.

Gonna give it a try and see what happens. One question though, does it matter which CM10 version I use for the files? I have the latest ParanoidAndroid if that would work... since it IS CM10 on crack..

If I had a file sharing account somewhere I would gladly post the P930 version, but I don't. It's unbelievably easy to make the port though. As someone else mentioned just unzip the SU640 version and also a CM10 version (I used Paranoid Android)... copy boot.img, /system/etc/firmware, and /system/etc/wifi from CM10 folder over to CodeNameAndroid and re-zip.
You could probably also copy the build.prop so that various apps don't think you're on a 640.

About to see how that reacts.
EDIT:
Definitely would recommend replacing the build.prop as well. Everything reads P930 instead of SU640 now.
How can I get my hands on the p930 version?

Hey slg, I made those changes for the P930.. I don't want to just post the link since I really did nothing that anyone else couldn't do, but it would make it a little easier for the P930 users if that version were already done... I guess, if you either want the file to post yourself or would like me to post the link, let me know. Thanks

if you use the current version of cm10(10/5) to make the port wont you have the same issues in the newly created rom as are in cm10? From what ive read the 10/5 nightly has an issue with very low volume wich would render it unusable for me if I used it to port the rom.....Any advice would be greatly appreciated ive been dying for a new rom to flash!
Very good rom, smooth and sensitive. MANY THANKS.

Are there any flash able ROMs using only cwm or twrp?

Yes. All rings are flashable. Ad looking as your using an ICS boot.IMG, you can flash 4.0 roms with no problem.
If your on a JB boot animation, you can flash 4.1+ roms. Just be aware to what kernel your using.

OK I understand the kernel is like telling the phone what bios to use like an emulator. So if I go from stock to amazing sense I'm totally good to go no CPU needed. Am I right?

[HELP]Bootloop on every custom rom?!

So guys i have a problem...
When i install a custom rom like CM9 B4 by arco or MIUI v4 RC2 i got a bootloop...
So if i reflash the stockrom with ODIN, it goes in bootloop but if i do a factory reset and clean cache from stock recovery it boots...
This doesn't work with ANY custom rom...
Any solutions?
(I flash Custom-roms with ClockworkMOD 6.0.1.9 by arco, and stock rom rooted)

Installing Notes apk on Blade ROM

Hello there,
I'm using Blade ROM v5.0 at the moment. Blade comes with much less stock apps, than a stock ROM which is very nice and makes it lighter and faster but I'm really missing the HTC Notes app (I don't like evernote e.g.). So I tried to make a flashable ZIP which failed poorly. noamsch6 (Member of blade Team) took my ZIP and made it flashable.
Unfortunately Notes still does not work. It always has a force close when I want to open the app. The apk was taken from an extracted stock ONE XL rom (4.0.4). Did I take a wrong APK? Please help a noob :good:

Why you post it in general, and not again in the thread? Its a rom specific problem, and when the cookers good like everybody says in their thread they should help

Quite a few people are having issues with updating to 4.2.2...I was on the latest Viper ROM before updating to 4.2.2 (stock)..these are the steps I followed:
1. Downloaded the stock rom from here http://d-h.st/y9S and placed the clockworkmod folder in the root of my device (here are the .img files: http://ul.to/7j745qvb
2. Booted into the fastboot and flashed the stock boot.img
3. Did fastboot erase cache
4. Booted into recovery (CWM), wiped the phone and restored the backup
5. Booted into fastboot, erased cache, and flashed stock recovery.img
6. Relocked the hboot via fastboot oem lock command
7. Rebooted device
8. Did software update
9. Profit, hit the thanks button!
The ota installed fine and my hboot is updated to 1.73..I really don't know why and how people are finding it difficult to update! Oh yeah, I forget step 0 - make sure you are on CID__J15
