Hi, my xperia ion has an annoying battery problem- its battery status is either 100% or 1% only (literally; no 90% or 50% battery status). I have no idea whether how much battery i have because after charging, its 100% but after using it couple times, or just leaving for a while, it suddenly becomes 1%. There were also times that after I charged it (battery full) and turned it off, its battery becomes 1%. I hope someone can help me with this problem. Thanks XDA
Do battery calibration,
Download app called "battery calibration" and open the app it will ask u to charge to 100%, do that and then press Calibrate button.
It will wipe your battery stats and correct battery percentage.
After do that, drain your battery to 0% then charge it to fully 100%, drain it again. Charge again to 100%, drain it again. Charge again to 100% and your battery is calibrated.

It's a 3500mAh extended battery.
I put it on the charger and it doesn't charge, the charging light just flashes and battery monitor widget just shows it discharge until it hits zero and then it charges up to 100% really fast (but it doesn't get a good charge, since reading feeds for 30 min took it down to 60%)
Last time I fixed this by bump charging with the phone off and then it lasted for a week or so pretty good.
Well it did it again last night, so I tried bump charging and resetting battery stats. After reboot it fell to 85% pretty fast.
Another odd thing it's done is it will be at like 65% and then after a reboot it will sit at 1% for the rest of the day until the battery dies. Pulling the battery out and putting it back in fixes this.
Is this just a crappy battery or is something up with the phone's charging circuits?
What rom/kernel are you on?
I have the 3500 battery, too, and I'll go from 100% to 90% pretty quickly. Calibrated twice, too. I figure that's just an issue with the nonlinear (or at least different voltage curve trends from 100%-0%) voltage output of the extended battery.

ACS 1.1.0 don't know if that's related though.
What worries me more is the not charging issue.

Have you tried calibrating it and clearing your batt stats in CWM?
Do you BONSAI?
Tried clearing batt stats a couple times... Now when the phone restarts, it thinks that the % is really low even for the STOCK battery...
Been sitting at 16% for 3 hours with use. (was 55% before reboot)

What were the conditions when you cleared the stats? You need to either fully charge the battery on and external charger or when the phone is off. Then boot into CWM and clear the stats.

I recently had a problem with the battery of my Defy, shows that this charged and stops charging even at 95%. I tried calibrating the battery, with the app and the same from the recovery, and removing the battery.
I can't think what else to do. Help Please!!
Edit, i'm on CM7.1
Have you tried wiping battery stats from recovery??

have been facing the same problem right since the day i upgraded to CM7..but what i have observed is that even though it says that the battery is fully charged @ 95%, it still keeps on charging...check after half and hour and it goes upto 100%..yes, but when u start using the handset after charging, this 5% comes down very fast!
Im having the same problem with the first 10% of the battery disappeared really quickly? Im on standard rom 2.2.2.

Just my observation... In Defy though the hardware is capable of 1% reporting of battery state the software is configured to assume near values. For Example 25% to 34% is considered 30% and 35% to 44% is considered as 40%. Hence when the battery reaches 95% it assumed 100% and reported as fully charged. But if you don't unplug the phone the charging will continue to 100%. In my Defy I don't see any significant difference in drain other than the first 1%. To know the exact charge I use ledefy with LED indication. Ledefy can be configured to change the colour of LED at exact 100%.
yeah, but now it goes up to 100%, i think its solved, but if this persist i'll report the issue to cyanogenmod forums...
thanks for the info pprakash
One thing I found that showed an accurate battery % is Android Circle Battery Widget.
This showed my battery % to 1% accuracy (1% 2% 3% rather than 90, 80, 70, 60 etc)

LEDEFY also have similar notification. It can display the same in the notificatin bar saving space on the screen or if you are having customer rom you can use a different framework-res.apk which can display 1% values ( This is my case for exact values ).
Try clean the battery stat created by older ROM, and use Battery Calibration free app which you can find easily on the market to calibrate ur battery... i think that would help
Hi
I got a 6200mah extended battery
How do I calibrate the battery without rooting? Is there an app for calibration?
Or must I root in order to get accurate percentage reading for my battery?
Thanks
You don't need to calibrate lithium ion/polymer batteries.
Just whack it in, charge it up and go about your normal day

The reading on the phone seems a bit off. It flatlines on usage for 2 hours at 3% seems phone not able to take accurate reading of battery true capacity in percentage
If the readings seem off, you can just charge to full and drain battery to about 1% then recharge. That is all calibrating really is. The concept of providing a low and high point
Those root apps that you see that "calibrate" the battery usually only wipe the phones battery stats which is placebo and has no effect on battery life. That file is essentially wiped everytime you charge to full and unplug.
Is this your first charge with it? If so just do a full charge cycle.

I was on root 4.1.2 and I removed it to upgrade to 4.3
Usually I drain my battery to 10% or so and then turn off my phone to charge it to full at least once a month. This time around it was different, the moment I plug in the charger the battery charge indicator jumps to 50% or so.
I unplugged it and turned on my phone and the % on the battery was 50%.
What was also weird was that the battery lasted as would at 50%
and it has been like that ever since as long as I charge my phone when turned off.
Charging with phone on isn't a problem.

Ok thanks for tip

Hi guys!! I have a problem with my SM-T210's battery or battery meter. With the battery fully charged, the battery drains to 1% in 10min and less. I have used the battery calibration but nothing. I have tried to calibrate manually but the same problem. Some screenshots:
