Hi
I'm new to this rom flashing stuff and I have a question about the pie navigation.
I am using a Spring Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I have just finished rooting the phone and installed the Whompasaurus ROM onto the phone. As i was fiddling with the Pie navigation and customizing it. I soon realized that when the "Show status info" configuration is on, it freezes my phone for about 10 seconds before going back to normal upon activating the pie feature for too long. It shows me the time and the first set of status, but when it animates to show the second set of status the pie navigation freezes.
I was wondering if anyone else was having this trouble, if so how do you fix it? I love the pie navigation its very easy to use and very reliable at times. I would still like to get the full aspects of the pie navigation. Any help would be great!
If you do have a solution please explain it in a simple manner, like I said before I'm new to these kinds of things >.<.

I have a weird problem, a few days ago I could not turn off the morning alarm because the icons in the lower bar (turn off and snooze) just couldn't be pulled up. I thought I was just too sleepy but I later realized that I can't use the lockscreen shortcuts either. The phone registers the touch but the icons just don't move upward. Also can't decline a call because of this.
Everything was fine the day before this happened, there were no system updates, no settings changed. The phone is running on stock rom, Android 4.2.2, Sense 5.0. No matter what settings I change I can't get it to work again, tried searching google and xda and found nothing similar. If I try to use the lockscreen shortcuts multiple times and then go to the app drawer and just scroll up and down sometimes a random app opens, most often messaging or mail, like it registers the lockscreen command only then. This is so annoying, does anyone know what I can try to eliminate this problem? I wouldn't like to try flashing a custom rom because I don't have any experience and am otherwise satisfied with stock system. Please excuse me if my questions are in any way stupid, I'm just a noob
I still can't find a fix for this, is there really nobody else with this problem?
Now I decided to hard reset the phone to fix this...yeah right, the shortcuts still don't work!
Hey guys,
I just got the update to Oreo on Verizon. So far I'm not liking it. I have several missing settings that I actually cannot find, specifically Ambient Display. I can find it in search, but when I click on it, it brings me to Display settings with the Advanced tab already selected but there is no setting for Ambient Display shown. I also can't figure out if its that or the Moto Display (where you approach to wake the device) but that setting is turned off. The phone is seriously waking it self up every couple seconds to show me a clock, the date and a blue ring showing the constantly draining battery percentage. I'm also very sad about the new emoji. I miss the blobby guys. Can I downgrade? how does someone do that anymore. Rooting seems very different now than in the pre 4.1 era I was used to on my previous phone. With my Moto Z Play, I haven't bothered to root or anything as it's worked right off the bat.
Thanks guys for your help.
First, this is a Moto z play or -02 forum, where what I think you have is a Droid or -01. So I may not be able to help much! - I have 8.0 where the ambient appears whenever the phone is touched or moved in any way. It only appears for about 3 seconds - i actually doubt this will have much effect on your battery, though if your phone is in constant motion , I suppose it could. The ambient display for me is a partial circle indicating % of battery charge, with %, time and date. I see no way to modify this. I suppose a custom ROM might change things but that would not be avail for the Droid as I know of no way to root it. I suppose you could always bug Verizon... Good luck with it!!! I generally like Oreo so far, but that is a problem with version updates - things change and we're pretty much stuck with it unless we can find and flash a different ROM...
Hi, my phone is running stock global version number 9.6.1.0 and today something odd happened. I turned the phone after 25 hours it was off and many of my settings was changed- the order of the settings in the notification bar was changed, it showed the clock at am-pm style but it was on 24h mode before, vibration on button was set on but didn't worked and the symbols of the notifications at the status bar are gone, only "..." is shown (i had 3 notifications so it should have shown them). So did it happened to anyone else? Is someone messed with my phone remotely? Is it a bug? Is xiaomi messing with the setting like google? I would like to know what you think.

I had same situation, after that i factory reset it and some was fixed some was not, and that was trigger to go on LOS15.1, best thing happend to me as smartphone user ?, forget on miui it sucks period! Frankly i miss floating ball and few othere things, but i for sure dont miss lag, bugs and othere sh***! So i couldn't fix notification and all those things, but i could unlock bootloader and flesh los magisk and evrtyhing else. So try it.if you need aome help contact me...
Running lineageOS 17 on a xiaomi mi 9 lite, loving it, but i made a mistake.
I have my phone rooted and have been messing around with edxposed and magisk and i was trying to see if i could enable some sort of face unlock feature through a mod. found one called hidden settings and i started poking around, and i tried to change the value of this one called "lockscreen.options=enable_facelock" through the terminal, hoping it would enable a face recognition header in the settings somewhere, but instead, it had a very strange effect. first, that string no longer exists in android secure settings on my phone, and second, now my phone will not lock through normal means. using the power button, waiting for timeout, nothing, as soon as i wake the screen, the padlock icon is already open and the screen swipes itself up and goes to my unlocked home screen as though it had recognized my face and unlocked itself...only it didn't, because even trying this with my thumb over the camera has the same result.
anyway, i don't know what to do, but i need my phone to lock. so far the only thing ive tried that works is to use the lockdown mode button in my power menu, but that's a hassle. anyway, any help would be appreciated, my goal is to avoid a factory reset as well.
thanks in advance
Sorry, unofficial lineageOS 17 and magisk and edexposed. That is a highly experimental setup. You should be aware, there you have to start from scratch at some point. Be happy, if it's enough to wipe system and data. Others flash stock ROM to fix things.

actually it was simpler than I thought...turns out nothing was broken at all. in fact one element was functioning better than i expected it to. a while back i was messing around on my previous phone, a rooted oneplus 5 running resurrection remix, and i started fiddling with tasker...anyway, at some point i had issues with the native smart lock features so i set a profile in tasker to unlock the phone when the screen turns on as long as i am connected to my home wifi network. apparently when i restored all my apps to the new phone through my google account it saved a ghost of that profile...i didn't catch it because it wasn't listed in the tasker interface, so i assumed none of my old automations had transferred. i figured it out when other old profiles started to activate, and eventually i remembered that i hadn't set any of that stuff up on this phone yet :victory::laugh:
in any case, thank you for the input...to be honest i would rather have a less experimental setup, but the mi 9 lite doesn't have much development yet so i'm choosing the best from what is available.
My T-Mo was on the national ROM and now it's back on the TMO ROM.
On both ROMs, within a week or two of flashing, my recents button stops working.
I use the three-button navigation bar.
In the beginning, I'd click the Recents button and a list of apps would pop up.
Now, nothing happens.
I disabled my Xposed mods.
I wiped data on the navigation bar.
No change in problem. Anyone else getting this behavior?
Geez I hate the new forum's search functionality.
EDIT:
Resolved, see post 3
Another weird thing is my timer no longer wakes the screen when it goes off.
It's the built in Google timer. Set it for 18 minutes and after 18 minutes the alarm goes off but the screen doesn't wake up for me to stop it.

This guy recommended updating WebView:

Mine was already up to date, so I uninstalled it and then installed the "Beta" version of WebView.
And also updated a few other apps at the same time.
Then, rebooted and now my Recents button is working again.
For the clock issue, I tried wiping Google Clock data and reboot but that didn't help.
Then, I uninstalled it, rebooted and reinstalled it and now it works.
