Flashing ringtone zip file - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Can I flash a ringtone zip file so they'll be in my ringtones?

As long as the .zip is made properly. Its probably just as easy to manually move them with a file.explorer. /system/media/audio then pick a folder, alarms, notifications or ringtones. A simple copy/paste then reboot.

What did "managing" them actually do?
Well now when I try to select a ringtone it just brings up all my songs on the card rather than the list of ringtones I think its something to do with astro manager I uninstalled it and still nothing I would like to just return it to the stock setting

Have you tried creating a new folder on sdcard named Ringtones then copying and pasting all ringtones to that folder then do the same with songs and name folder Music...should recognize each individual folder and keep tones and music separate when accessing them...let me know if this helps prob.

How to extract system app from one rom and put it in another

Hi,
I am currently running: Jelly "Beans" Custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221268
I am a large fan of the sms app that they have, but would like to switch roms. I like the way it looks and the custom colors that were placed within the system SMS app. Is there a way to create a flashable .zip file of this messageing app to flash onto a different new rom?
I've searched to check if there is a flashable.zip file available for this customized SMS app and can't seem to find it, if someone has a link to the SMS flashable zip already, that would work also.
Thanks

Works well. Flash it.in recovery and you might need to do it a few times before you find one with working mms.
Also in the future to push apps to system just a file explorer with root access and copy any app you want and then paste is it the system/app folder. Make sure the folder is R/W and change permissions to rw-r-r

[Q] How do I create a cwm zip for ringtones?

I have several ring tones and alarm tones I use, and every time I flash a rom, they need to be recopied over. I'd like to learn how to make a cwm zip so I can just add them in to the system/media/ folder easily and quickly.
Thanks!
Why don't you leave them in a folder called ringtones on your ext SD card? That way they are always there??

They are there...but they need to be copied to the system folder to be recognized. Then you need to reset the alarm and sounds to see them.

Custom ringtone

Maybe I'm missing something but I can't seem to choose my own custom ringtone - only one from the list in audio profiles.
I just tried the Ringdroid app and it broke my settings. Now when I try and change the tone, settings crashes. Looks like I'll have to factory reset
If u want your custome ringtones then you have to make a folder in internal sdcard .. Which sholud be named "media" inside it create another folder naming "audio" n inside it "ringtones" .
Name exactly as it has been quoted .. The ringtone you want u can save it in ringtone folder ...
Reboot and you are done ..

Android does file scan after reboot, possibly later updates it's list if you put/delete a file.
If you put .nomedia into certain directory - it will be ignored during scan (or display or both, I am not sure).
Download root Explorer or Explorer (blue) and create file .nomedia
When you Reboot you not see this files in video Players/music Players and gallery/album where nomedia is.
