Hi, does anyone have a working method for creating ext3 partition on SD card for app2sd on SLCD Desire? The following methods do not work for one reason or another on mine SLCD Desire with 0.83Hboot and 2.5.0.1. modified Clockwork recovery:
1. Via Rom Manager .. does not work because installing the standard Clockwork recovery is required for this and that one just "turns off" your screen.
2. Via Amon Ra recovery .. because it does not support the SLCD Desire AFAIK
3. Via ADB console .. I get "Not found" message when trying to run parted
I was wondering, if it is really necessary to perform the partitioning with the SDcard in the phone, I would prefer to use a USB reader and some partitioning software, but I am not able to find a normal description of needed partition specifics (if there are any).
If I understand the requirements correctly, I need to create three separate partitions (to be safe with the roms that use also the swap one) .. FAT32 first, ext3 second and linux-swap third.
Does anyone have an idea how to create these and maybe a tip for a suitable software that can to this (most of the freeware partition managers do not support non-windows filesystems )
I did mine via Rom manager no problems and I have an SLCD. I installed what it said didn't change anything.

hmm I tried it with the newest ROM manager and it works

do you have a cd burner on your pc/laptop and a space audio cd? if so visit here http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download, download the unbuntu live cd, burn it, boot it and use the native partition manager to make whatever partitions you want
I'm not clear on what I should download and burn from that page...
Edit : I'm on a cap data plan - cant afford to download 700mb
Then download GParted Live. Does the same job but only 124MB.
Just download and burn the .iso to CD then boot it up with the memory card plugged into the pc.

EDIT: I reformatted the partition and reflashed the CM10 ROM fixing the problem. Yay!
I have set up dual boot (following the instructions precisely on the FFF dual-boot thread) and am successfully booting into both modaco (as alt) and CM-10 linaro (twa_priv). However, it appears that my partitions did not set up correctly. Everything is working with modaco but with CM-10 I was having problems with Google Play and installing apps. The sd card files appear to be identical to what I see when running Modaco which made me think the partitions did not set up correctly (unless I misunderstand how the sd card is split between roms).
Anyway, I reformatted trying to fix it and now can't push the rom back onto the device. The device is recognized and listed as android composite - but I cannot do any of the adb or fastboot functions.
Anyone able to help?
Hi, I'm Nicola, from Italy.
Sorry for my english....
I have a problem.
My acer A101 has a stock ROM type ACER AV041_A101_1.014.00_WW_GEN1.
I downloaded the Acer_A101_2.518.01_041.103.02_COM_GEN1H which I think is more recent.
Reading various guides online I'm able to install this stock rom.
I'm using TWRP 2.2.1 as recovery and I know that our tab recognizes the internal memory as SDCARD and the micro sd as EXTERNAL_SD ( in my case is a Sandisk 32GB class 4 (first 5GB Ext2 partition , FAT32 second 26 Gb FAT32 ).
- I did copy and paste 1000 times between SD and EXT_SD, including root and so on.
- I unpacked the archive with the name mentioned above in order to find 3 files: update.zip; Amss.zip; Acer_A101_2.518.01_041.103.02_COM_GEN1H.txt (empty text).
- I tried to decrypt the update.Zip with classic tool by THOR but does not work (it says corrupted archive). Tried also with the java terminal (as described here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php? P = 14204276 # post14204276 but archive damaged).
When I go into recovery for flashing ROM the message always returns : STATUS 7 (flashing error ..... "various path" / update.zip).
Who can help me?
Thank you!
Use stock recovery to install stock Roms or you get those issues.

I got myself in a deep hole - installed latest omni 4.4 and have no access to external sdcard. rebooted, wiped, proceeded to install cm11 only to find it out it's a corrupt file. Installation aborted
Now I don't have access to external
Only CWM is bootable
How do I access internal card ??
I tried SDK android but running as administrator briefly blinks cmd screen and the whole thing disappears. I'm on win8.
