[Q] Acer Iconia A101 Stock Rom (problem) - Acer Iconia Tab A100

Hi, I'm Nicola, from Italy.
Sorry for my english....
I have a problem.
My acer A101 has a stock ROM type ACER AV041_A101_1.014.00_WW_GEN1.
I downloaded the Acer_A101_2.518.01_041.103.02_COM_GEN1H which I think is more recent.
Reading various guides online I'm able to install this stock rom.
I'm using TWRP 2.2.1 as recovery and I know that our tab recognizes the internal memory as SDCARD and the micro sd as EXTERNAL_SD ( in my case is a Sandisk 32GB class 4 (first 5GB Ext2 partition , FAT32 second 26 Gb FAT32 ).
- I did copy and paste 1000 times between SD and EXT_SD, including root and so on.
- I unpacked the archive with the name mentioned above in order to find 3 files: update.zip; Amss.zip; Acer_A101_2.518.01_041.103.02_COM_GEN1H.txt (empty text).
- I tried to decrypt the update.Zip with classic tool by THOR but does not work (it says corrupted archive). Tried also with the java terminal (as described here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php? P = 14204276 # post14204276 but archive damaged).
When I go into recovery for flashing ROM the message always returns : STATUS 7 (flashing error ..... "various path" / update.zip).
Who can help me?
Thank you!

Use stock recovery to install stock Roms or you get those issues.

[Q] SDcard partition not in place anymore

I tried to flash a custom 2.2 ROM yesterday onto my unlocked, unbranded and rooted Desire yesterday but it failed and the SDcard no seem not to be receiving files download either images or applications. Then I flashed the original 2.1 ROM back to restore the Device but the SDcard still displays 3.66GB as total space and available space even when I download apps. What can I do to restore the SDcard to the way it used to respond to downloads?it seems to be installing onto Phone's memory instead
Hi there,
I installed a custom rom yesterday.
Prior to installing I prepared my SDcard in the following manner.
I started up an Ubuntu LiveCD session then used gparted to format my SDcard.
1. Format the whole card as FAT32.
2. Shrink the FAT32 partition by 512MB to leave 512MB at "END" of SDcard.
3. Make new EXT3 partition in the spare 512MB at end of card.
I then put all the necessary files for the custom rom on to the SDcard and installed the rom.
Everything seems to be working great as applications are being installed to SDcard.

[Q] Big problem "E : Can't mount /sdcard"

Hi,
I have installed SupeROM HD V1.0 on my desire and it worked well. I took the D2ext.
My sdcard was just in FAT and one ext.
I saw that it was better to have Fat + Ext4 + Ext4 + Swap (fat+1GB+0.3GB+0.1GB).
So i used Gparted and i did those parts.
Then I wanted to reinstall the ROM to have something proper so I have put the .zip on the FAT part from my computer and I put the SDcard in my desire.
I went in the recovery and when I click on "install zip from SD" I have this message : "E : Can't mount /sdcard"
And when I try to do a normal start I can enter my sim code but after I have this message : "Loading, this can take several minutes".
It is like this since 1 hour...
Did someone can help me?
ps : excuse my english but I am french
after waiting 3 hours my phone is started but there is no widget and no apps, there is nothing on it.
Redo your partitions with the card in a card reader or while in recovery. You also might want to check your card for errors.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
i already done it, with (fat32 / ext4 / ext4 / swap) the phone start in 3 hours but with only (FAT32 / ext) there is the bootanimation who run always (from SupeROM HD V1.0)
i tried to put this file : PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip
in the sdcard and rename it in PB99IMG.zip but when i start the phone with power + vol down the file is detected but nothing happened

[Q] CWM not mounting SDcard (any SDcard)

OK. So I need some serious help.
I have thrashed the web and found similar issues but the fixes there do not work for me.
Today I followed the instructions on the t-mod site (t-mod.org) to install T-Mod LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3 Port R5 A2SD (Australian version of Leedroid). I had to apply the Telstra froyo RUU first to update my Hboot. The root process and s-off seemed to go fine. I installed the radio Radio_32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 and then T-mod.
On the first boot it went past the s-off ‘Why so serious’ screen and I thought I had it made but then the keep looping through the same boot animation screen. The last line reads “Detecting phone storage…”
I went back to recovery and found the CWM could not mount my sdcard.
CWM-AlphaRev Recovery v2.5.1.8
E:Can’t mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(no such file or directory)
Error mounting SDCARD:!
Since then I have tried a number of things.
- Tried to format card from CWM. Failed
- Tried to format card in Windows 7, which worked. But did not help.
- Tried a different sdcard. No difference.
- Tried to reapply the Telstra RUU. Successfully detected the device but would not complete.
- Hit the panic button.
Other people have reported similar issues with CWM not mounting the sdcard but this is generally fixed by either formatting the card or using a different card. The card in the phone was a brand new Lexar 16GB class 6 and then I tried the original 2GB Sandisk.
Please help.

Wow. I look at that but not well enough. I thought it was for only when your pc would not detect your phone but it is so much more. thanks
It really is much easier than it looks. Just get Android Flasher from the link I provided in the other thread and run that command and that should re-enable your SD card on your phone.
This happened to my Desire once and I was stuck for hours, in the end found this to fix it, just plug your phone up via Fastboot and give this a go:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
Same thing happened to me just now. Fastboot says OKAY but still sd cant be mounted. Is there any other way? I used ADB, I'll also try Android Flasher.
EDIT : I formatted SD via CWM now it works
EDIT2 :Formerly I formatted with gparted in Linux, still wondering why it went wrong
please delete me
Hey Guys, i have the same problem. But i dont know what i should do with the Android Flasher ... Just go to /data an execute the files?? I have the Galaxy S2!
When i click on external_sd/ it says No files found. And how can you re flash the ROM, without having the sd card working. (because all the people say after re flashing it worked again:/)

Cannot change Ext 2-3 or 3-4 after reformat....

Okay, so I've partitioned the SD card, but when I went to do this step.... (I'm following an XDA beginner's guide)
"Once the process is complete, select Upgrade EXT 2 to EXT 3. Do not use EXT 4 On Sense ROMS. DEFINITELY use EXT4 on newer AOSP ROMS. Your SD Card is now partitioned and you’re ready to restore your backup and flash your custom ROM so back out, go to USB-MS Toggle, select it and copy everything from the EVO Backup folder on your computer, back to your SD Card."
It didn't work... This is the error message I get... "Oops... Something went wrong! Please check the recovery log."
I think default partitions to Ext 2 and then you can upgrade. Please advise if there is something I am not doing correct.
I am using an AOSP ROM, so how to I upgrade to Ext 4?
It seems like once this is done, I am ready to carryover the backup files from my PC, wipe, and install the new ROM.
So I am reading that it is possible that my current Kernel and / or SD Card may not support going to Ext 2,3, or 4.
I'm running Android 2.3.3 (hence why I desperately need an upgrade)
Kernel Version:
2.6.35.10-g13578ee
[email protected] #1
(dated) 2011
My SD Card:
Samsung 8 GB MicroSD
Class 2
Shows 6.54 space available after Reformat and Partition with 1024 (1GB) selected for EXT2
Could either of these cause a problem for why I can't upgrade my EXT? I'm a total Noob, so I need some help with this. Thanks.

I just plugged in the phone and opened my SD folder on the computer and don't see anything in there.
Is there a way to get to the log file on the phone, in Recovery mode, per se? If not, please help!

Are your display settings on your computer set so all files, including protected system ones, will show? It may be that the file is there, but just that your explorer is not showing it.

I need help Please. HTC one m8

Hello,
I need someone to help me make my phone work again.
here are all the steps I did before:
1- I downloaded HTC all in one kit
2- I unlocked my bootloader
3- I installed TWRP from HTC all in one kit
4- I downloaded this ROM : htc_m8_generic/da67a982c7dbf1dd45f8e34735eb591ac8d56b11.OTA_M8_UL_M60_STOCK_UI_MR_Google_WWE_5.07.1700.6-4.04.1700.10_release_454832.zip
first of all, when I booted to my current OS and I connect my phone to computer, the Internal storage not 16 GB anymore !! it's 10 GB and not a single folder inside, and I can't write anything there..!!
anyway I copied that ROM to my SD card and booted to TWRP recovery, I press Install and choose my zip file from my SD card and swipe to install ..I get this error:
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata at /data: Device or resource busy unkown command
I wiped everything and now I can't boot to my OS it's not there..so I want to install the ROM I mentioned above.
Few doubts :
1- does it or doesn't matter to be rooted to install that ROM through TWRP ?
2- does it matter to be S-OFF ?
3- does it matter if the zip file on SD Card or internal storage ?
4- does it matter if I'm not using the last TWRP version ?
I need help correct me if I'm wrong..
