I'm seeing many users notice different little bugs with the phone (me included) and instead of having multiple threads about it, maybe we can all post it in one place where later the devs can see it and work on them once the phone is rooted etc.. Good idea/bad idea? I come from an Evo 4g with Sense rom so I wonder how many of these might not really be "bugs" but just a different user experience.
I'll start..
Accu weather app not updating location automatically
apk files downloaded from the computer and then transferred to phone are not showing up (unknown sources, usb debugging checked)
No function when touching the clock widget. It does not launch me to alarm, world clock, time etc menu. Maybe this is just a touchwiz thing as I mentioned above, I come from a sense rom.
So far those are the ones on top of my head. As I use the phone more, I'm sure I'll spot more (hope not!).
Anyone else?
Phone dialer issues
I have to reboot my phone from time to time to make a call.
It just says call ended when i try to call out.
When i reboot it works fine for a few hours.
Mentioned above plus the following so far (except reboot for calling issue):
No landscape mode using TW (auto-rotate enabled)
Red LED only available notification color (REALLY?!)
Skype video calling is upside down when using in portrait mode.
Also, phone call is automatically in Speaker mode when calling after making a Skype video call.
*Occasional phone FREEZES. As in, one minute it is okay, and the next minute, you have to do a battery pull. Happened twice since I got it on launch day.
*Browser closing for no reason. Happened 4 times since launch day.
*When plugged in with Samsung charger, phone's screen will act real glitchy
*SWYPE does not work properly, no matter the settings. Have to type normally.
That's all the software bugs I've experienced. Hardware-wise, there are reports of problems with data, 3G, 4G, and WIFI....I haven't seen any word on Bluetooth yet.

Actually, other's have experienced auto-closing apps and freezing. It's in a thread around here or at sprintusers.com, I forget which.
For the first three days I couldn't get data while roaming though the proper settings were checked. Sprint customer care reset my phone and after an hour of waiting it works.
All else its great (except for the above oddities with Touch Wiz) though I haven't checked GPS after encrypting the device.

Can you elaborate on this issue?
Also, anyone else having similar issues, please chime in.
Are you seeing a circle with a slash through it (no service) when this happens?
Can you receive calls when this happens?
Do you lose 4G or WiFi? Or is it just Voice/3G?
Does it seem to happen sometime after making a call/text (~30min), or any other pattern you've noticed?
Are you rooted?
If yes, what kernel (zedomax or tanimn/shabbypenguin - trying to narrow down an issue with one of the current root kernels)?
Exchange Appt. Notification Bug
I have had multiple reminders pop up for from my Exchange calendar and i can't seem to dismiss or snooze them from the notification bar. The snooze and dismiss buttons are available but are non responsive. The only way I can get rid of the notification is with the "Clear" button which is for all notifications. Has anyone else noticed this?

I know this may sound silly, and you may have already checked this, but check your language settings. I've read about some owners that were having problems with Swype discovered that their language was set to Spanish.
Also, on the LED notifications only being Red, I've been playing with an App called Light Flow. I've at least been able to change the notification colors to Blue using this App. Also, the App lets you use "White" as a color, which still shows a Red light, but blinks very fast if some of you prefer a faster blinking light.
I have had the roaming data issue as well. It does eventually work for me though, but on once occasion it took 10 minutes before data turned on after the roaming started. I will try calling Sprint as well.
Wifi signal is bad.. but speedtest says otherwise. I think the issue is with the amount of bars displayed and not the actual signal. I was standing 5 fee fromt he router and still didn't have full bars.
Ive been having problems today with dropping data connection. Toggling 4G off and on seems to restore it even in no 4G areas. I guess it resets the radio or something?

Just got this phone friday. So far the only bugs I am experiencing are roaming in places my evo got coverage and the security draw pattern having a mind of its own making it very hard to unlock the screen. Also the wifi reception is noticeably weaker than my evo

Ive done that already and it didnt help. Thanks, tho.
Luckily, no freezes or crashes here (knock on wood).
what i HAVE noticed is the rotate bug, for instance
when rotating the phone for texting or browsing, you have to kind of
bring it up to your chest @ about a 90 degree angle in order for it to rotate.
calibrated it all correctly & i still have to do that.
this is my first phone from the Epic/Galaxy company so im not sure if that was a problem in the original Epic 4g (non-touch) but it sure is kind of annoying :/
hopefully the dev's can tweak the gyro or SOMETHING.
Poor Wifi/3g Signal
Noticed lower bars on both wifi and 3g...when in same spot on my Evo 4g I had more...might be just how many bars its displaying and not the actual signal...but not for sure...actually went into roaming a few times when with my Evo 4g I never did (even with roaming was set to automatic...now I have it set to sprint only)
Hello. Has anyone tried updating through Kies? I tried and it says that this version of software cannot be updated. I just got my phone today. I did have problems installing the drivers. After I let it install say one or two drivers, one would error out. Once I unplugged it a few times and then plugged it back it, all of the drivers installed.
I hope this doesn't mean that Samsung is not going to upgrade to ICS or else I am taking this back. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" and it won't allow updating with rooting. Thanks for any input and have a great day/night!

I noticed this too.
you have to check the check boxes next to the calender item. This is deceptive because the boxes have checks in them. But they should be green and not grey.
hope that helps
Hi,
I recently bought a Galaxy Nexus and rooted it right then and there. A couple of weeks later it went into the bootloop (disease) and I had to restore my phone from scratch (loosing all my SD card stuff as well ). So I decided to go with AOKP M4.
Again a couple of weeks later AOKP just freezes while I was trying to access Maps. No buttons work and the screen stays ON. Had to pull out the battery to bring the phone back to life.
This time I said, let's go for ARHD 3.0... all works fine and I flash to ARHD 4.0 with complete superwipe. Then last night it freezes again when I was trying to access GTalk. Same thing, had to pull the battery out to bring it back to life.
Now I'm wondering if there's a problem with the GAPPS on the GNex? Or there's something else brewing in the background while I carry on my daily tasks. The phone is great, but this freezing is making me go crazy.
If you guys have had similar issues before, and have found any solutions to those, I'd appreciate your help in that.
Thanks.
could be one of your apps
I had a few lockups on stock 4.0.1 when I first got my phone, but after it updated to 4.0.4, and my subsequent move to custom ROMs I haven't had any issues with my phone freezing.

This. Were there any shared circumstances between your lockups? I noticed that my phone lockups on 4.0.1 all occurred under the following circumstances: I was listening to music and writing a text message when a new message was received. Every time.
I definitely haven't had any freezes like that so far for the life of my 3 months. It certainly sounds like something unique with your setup is following you around. An app most likely.
Hmmm ... thanks for your help. I have seen the phone freeze twice in two days. Battery pull restores it every time however.
I don't have anything installed which plays around with my settings (ex: setcpu etc.) Except Tasker!
I can try disabling the app for a week to root cause it!
Thanks.

Ever since I put Jelly Bean on my VZW Galaxy Nexus, if I connect to WiFi and let the screen go to sleep, after a while (ranges from a couple minutes to an hour or so) my WiFi icon will turn grey. It stays this way after I wake up the screen and I won't have Internet connectivity.
I only experience this issue on my home WiFi network. It does not happen on mobile data or my workplace WiFi (which is using WPA2 security like my home network). This issue also has occurred on every Jelly Bean ROM I've tried (stock rooted JB, a couple early CM10 hybrids, Bugless Beast, AOKP build 1 and now CM10 nightlies).
I wanted to test some bare-bones scenarios so I did a clean install of the 8/22/12 CM10 nightly build last night (wipe data / factory reset, format system, wipe dalvik cache, flash CM10, flash gapps, boot). On first boot I connected to WiFi but did not sign in to my Google account or set anything else up. I hooked it up to my computer and ran an adb logcat all night, but the icon stayed blue when I checked this morning.
Since I had no issues in this scenario, I then added my Google account and updated the Gmail app when prompted. Other than that, no change, still haven't even launched an app. Ran another adb logcat and within 10 minutes I started noticing connectivity issues in my logcat so I turned on the screen to check, and sure enough, my WiFi icon was grey.
Attached is the log from the bare bones CM10 after I signed into my Google account and let the screen fall asleep with a blue WiFi icon.
If anyone has any troubleshooting ideas from here, I'd really appreciate the help!
EDIT: Ran a new logcat showing the actual connection process, although this time after noticing the connection issues in the log and turning my screen on, the icon only stayed grey for a few seconds and then turned blue. This is adb-log-2.txt attached.
I assume you already messed with the WiFi sleep settings, right? Also, I read another post explaining that the bars turn from blue to gray when you are not connected to any google services. Not sure if that's true or not.
Anyway, I see the same behavior on my phone at times and although it never bothered me, now I want to know what cause it as well...
Same problem on CM10.
Hi guys,
I have this problem too, in Cyanogen Mod 10. Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi here.
After deep sleep (5+ minutes) WiFi locks it self off, i cant turn it back on because its grey d out.
Reboot so far, seems the only solution, a bit annoying have to reboot every time it goes to sleep, but oh well, this rom is still amazing.
Any solutions yet? I wonder trying a diferent Kernel, eve that most users posted it as useless as it keeps locking itself off. :
Cheers!
I'm also unsure of this issue but sometimes it does happen. Turn on airplane mode and then turn it off a few minutes later or reboot.
Sometimes turning off wifi will fix the issue.
To make sure just go into advanced and turn off avoid low signal thing in wifi if you haven't already.
Also unfortunately some routers are picky on our WiFi drivers as with other phones. It is also ROM related too.
I had a droid incredible and on sense 3.5 it always lost WiFi and signal every 50 minutes to an hour.

I know that Verizon has been getting some flak for the 2.3.4 update having a push notifications bug, but it seems the problem might be extending a bit further.
I'm running Android 2.3.3 on my rooted R800x from Verizon, and it too is having push notification problems.
I've had the problem off and on for the past week or two, where my wifi and data connection bars will turn from green to white, and I'll stop receiving notifications for things like facebook, twitter, and email. Every few days it will turn back on, and I'll get tons of notifications all at once.
I can't even update the OS either OTA, or with the PC Companion tool (it keeps telling me it needs to be updated, but can't find the update, even though I downloaded it fresh from the Sony site) and my bootloader isn't unlocked, so I'm not sure if flashtool would work.
I have CWM installed using X-Parts from the market, so I was working a bit with it, and found out that if I clear the cache, and Dalvik cache, that the connection bars will turn green briefly when it boots up, but after a few minutes, will go back to white.
I really love this phone, and I'd rather not have to buy a new one. I'd also like to keep my data, but if it comes down to it, I'll do a factory reset.

White 3G/WiFi/Signal Bars indicates google services have been interrupted. If you have really bad service in your area that may be the cause. 2.3.4 broke Gtalk so all push notifications will no longer work. I would occasionally come across this problem on 2.3.3 from time to time, usually in not so good areas, I fixed it by turning air plane mode on and then off. But that is just a temporary fix. I've been using Cola rom for quiet some time now and I've yet to get white 3G/WiFi/Signal, the only time these are white is when I'm completely out of service (areas @ work) so this leads me to believe that 2.3.3 Verizon Stock ROM is flawed.
I'd suggest Cola.

The problem is that I've been having this problem even at home, on wifi. Getting full bars on both wifi and data, and they're still white.
I'd LOVE to use a different rom, like Cola, or Cyanogen, but how would I do that with a locked bootloaded? Or is there some way to unlock it now? I haven't really been up to date, but the last time I searched, I found a solution that you needed to pay for to unlock it.

The unlocking method just became free, don't ask me how to do it because I payed to get mine unlocked, cola does not require you to have an unlocked bootloader that is (one of the reasons) why I recommend it.

Ah, thank you so much, I'll look into unlocking soon.
Though, I WOULD like to point out that I think I fixed the problem.
I've been getting the "Low Storage" notification ever since this problem started, so I moved a few apps to the SD card, uninstalled some, and now it's back up, connected, and syncing my emails and stuff now.
Don't really know why storage would matter...but I guess it does.

I've never got that notification before...
I'm running CM10.2.1 and I use the phone, WiFi only. I've been using it fine for 4 months and haven't made any changes to my WiFi. Starting the day before yesterday my WiFi signal would go gray for a few minutes every hour or so, now it appears almost permanently gray. Everything works except I don't get notifications(I think play store might not either). I've searched the internet for two straight days and tried everything short of starting from scratch. The only thing that worked(for about 5 minutes) was changing the date/time to something random, so as of now, I have tasker doing that every 5 minutes. But even that doesn't work 100%. Please help. TIA

AFAIK the gray notification icons are the new flat color, to make it more cohesive across android systems. My icon is gray running CM 10.2.1 and my wifi works

But I only get notifications when my WiFi is blue. I'm assuming it's some sort of time mismatch issue with the Google servers, but I could be wrong. It's odd though, my date and time are not set to automatic, but when I change the date/time with tasker it jumps right back.
