Hey,
my phone has been running fine fine this morning until the moment i decided to play a game on it (Super Stickman Golf), the phone got really hot so i decided to exit the game. At that moment my phone's battery was at 38% percent and baout 2-4 minutes later at 28% percent, it got me worried but i ignored it. And now comes the problem; when I responded to a text message i noticed that the sending icon was on for an abnormally long time. I thought that it was just a graphical bug but to make sure I sent myself a message and realised that it wasnt just a bug, the message never arrived. I left my phone to charge and to cool down and then i retried sending myself a message, this time it took the message 2 minutes to be sent(full signal). What can I do to fix this? Is it even fixable or will i have to send it for repairs?
I'm running an HT23 HOX if it helps (from what I've read the HT23 ones are problematic)
UPDATE:
-Sense launcher is behaving abnormally. I pressed the home button and all the folders I have on my screen were missing for 3-4 seconds and then re-appeared (when the folders appeared it showed nothing in them but then the app icons also appeared). Also, my wallpaper was enlarged. I sent myself a message for a third time, it again took 2 minutes for it to be sent and received. Weirdly enough, I sent the message at 17:54 but the time sent now says 17:56 and the time received says 17:55 (???).
-I restarted my phone several times and also removed the sim card, nothing helps
-My phone seems to be getting hot easier than before and there are also more processes open that Ive never seen open before (they eat up almost all my phone's ram)

Has anybody noticed occasional and pretty annoying lags with the phone? I have owned the phone from Saturday and haven't noticed any issues in the past couple of days. But this morning, noticed lag on several occasions, many for 10+ seconds.
Noticed lag:
- When trying to update gas price in the Gas buddy app: The whole phone froze and didn't come back up for 20+ seconds. Restarted the phone and everything went back to normal.
- When receiving a call when the phone was asleep: First, I couldn't swipe the 'answer' button. I tried the swipe action, but nothing was happening. After few tries, the answer button went to the right of the screen, but the call still didn't start. It was few seconds of agony before the call connected and I was able to talk.
- When trying to send a text message: Started typing the recipient's name, got list of names from the drop down and selected the recipient. The phone froze for 15 seconds at least. Tried to press the home button frantically did nothing for several seconds. Finally I was able to get to the home page.
- At this point, I killed all the apps and services from the task manager.
- Tried to send the text message and was able to reproduce the lag.
- Restarted the phone, no lags.
Earlier this morning, I enabled flash on a website for the first time and visited a flash intensive website. Not sure whether that has anything to do with the lags.
I tried evo 3d couple of times before giving up on it for good because of build issues in both the phones. I'm desperate to like this phone because I dread going back to TP2. Hope this is not a recurring issue.
ive never experienced ANY lag with this phone. And I consider myself a power user
I have experienced this on two occasions. I've had the phone since Friday. Once was before I rooted, the other after I rooted. I didn't have to reboot either time, just waited for about 30 seconds. Hasn't happened enough to see a pattern. But, the one after I rooted occurred while using Gas Buddy. Hmmm.
Its happened twice that i can remember now.
This morning in bed I grabbed the phone, deleted some emails, opened the browser and the screen went blank with the sound of a slight crackle. It then instantly revooted (google logo popped up etc).
Im concerned the phone is faulty. Is it likely just one of those things or does it sound more sinister?
Hope somebody can advise.
Mine rebooted once the other day. I don't necessarily think that the phone is faulty, it just has bugs that need ironing out.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
it's just the apps
it can happen with any android device
just keep an eye on which app is causing it
you can pull out the logs and scan through it
I've been having the same thing as the OP. I get "Android is Upgrading" when it restarts, too.
In additiona I've seen (several times now) that when I press the power button to turn the screen on, it wont accept any input. After 30 minutes or so it spontaneously restarts and goes to the "Android is Upgrading" message when it restarts.
I'm on the verge of RMI'ing the thing as some of the other guys in the office who have it have not had the same problems.
I'm running vanilla sim free version, no operator tat installed.

Are you running a totally unmodified stock rom or have you flashed a custom rom/kernel/radio to it? Kernels are still being worked on and arent perfect yet.
Also Android 4 is still very new and alot of apps are not fully compatable and subject to crashing or crashing the system.
Everything will be ironed out in time
Mark.
I did not have that problem for a long time, it only recently happened. In the morning the device 'froze' for the first time and did not react to any input without the screen turning on.
I took out the battery to restart and everything seemed fine. But later on it happened while I was using the device, certain pixels moved out of place (like a green pixel distortion) and the device froze. Screen turned off soon after. Taking out the battery was the only option.
Now, this is either battery or some other hardware flaw. After restart the battery had been hit with a 20% drop.
Might the device act up by some charging problems? When I am charging the device, I can feel the electric 'buzz' from the docking connectors (the three golden circles).
Also, when it is not charging, I cannot detect it myself, but if I take a strand of hair, the end of it 'sticks' lightly to the screen (and to the docking connector) if I put it close there. I fear like there's some manufacturing flaw there that broke loose.
The device has not dropped once, nor has had any other physical damage happen to it.
Has anyone else had the same symptoms happen?
Sounds like you've hit the same (or similar) issue to others (including me)

I found this issue (or one very much like it) at code.google.com here:

Thank you. I thought it was different from Sleep of Death since the initial symptoms were different from weeks ago when I read that thread, but now reading it this seems correct. This thread can be merged or removed, I'll post in the other thread. Thanks again!
I've had that too, couple days ago using Facebook everything just froze. The keyboard went all buggy and green pixels everywhere. The back of the phone started to warm up phone wouldn't respond in any way.
Tried everything I could try, only option was to pull the battery, once that happened phone wouldn't turn back on!
I gave the phone 5 mins to rest before putting battery back in then it turned on.
My heart was pounding I thought my phone had died!
Thankfully it hasn't happened since
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
It's happened to me multiple times. Less since I turned off the EQ in the Music app, but it's still happening.
Once it happened with the device just sitting there with Tapatalk displaying a list of posts. I wasn't even interacting with it.
I think it's a OS or driver problem and will be fixed in an OTA.
happened to me once, although when it happened I was already pretty low on battery, about 20% left, maybe less.
I was in a settings menu for some app, I can't remember which. But I had the keyboard up, and the green pixels hit, froze, unfroze, green pixels again, froze, and then shut off.
it would not turn on via the power button, so I quickly pulled the batt and put it back after 30 secs or so and powered it up. Batt did not drop any lower than it was, and it worked fine. Plugged it in, recharged overnight, and has been fine ever since.
I'm running 4.0.1 and I don't have anything but apps made by Google on the phone at the moment.
never rooted or unlocked bootloader.
Hopefully 4.0.2 or 4.0.3 fixes this
i realize now that there's no support for 720P AC3 .MKV files on the Nexus yet, but every time i tried the phone would lock up and i'd have to do a battery pull. other then that, i notice if i have Google Music running and attempt to do something else(multi-task) the phone will also lock up.. but then it will reboot on it's own. i also get lag regularly switching views/menus or going from portait/landscape. additionally, the browser(regardless of which one i use) will occasionally just freeze & close by itself.. usually if i try to do a secure login on a site. i will also sometimes get FC's(have seen them for launcher pro & android keyboard)

A couple of days ago i received a new G2.
As soon as i rooted it i installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605016
Everything completed and the phone would operate normally. I let it fully charge during the night. Next morning i installed some apps from the market (skype fb and a weather widget), then i let it charge again for 20 minutes or so. When i got back to see if it charge, the screen was dimmed like in power saving mode, it wouldn't go back no matter what and the phone hanged there.
I got the battery out and upon rebooting the screen was still dimmed.
I got back to 2.3.3 stock which i had backed up to SD from clockwork, but the problem continued.
I contacted the seller and said they would ship a new one as soon as i sent them the shipping back notice. The thing is i don't want to wait half a month or even more to get the new phone.
I've attached a video of the problem.
I played with the brightness levels on 4.2, you will notice that if i put it on 100% the screen goes completely black.
Also when i put it in standby with the power button and push it again the screen starts flickering for some seconds before it gets stabilized again.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Sounds to me like it is really a hardware issue... while it's understandable that you don't want to wait for a new phone to arrive, it is better than ending up with a dead backlight...
It really was a hardware issue, took another one back after a month and it works great.
Thanks for your help guys
I bought a second hand At&T HTC Desire HD/Inspire 4g a month ago . But because of my exams I decided not to use the playstore or insert my sim. It doesn't even have an SD card. I was just browsing the internet from my phone for a month. The problem occured when I signed up on playstore a few days ago. I downloaded 5 apps now and then , and then deleted 3 of them. Yesterday when I was checking out the play store the phone started getting stuck while scrolling , only slightly. But when I typed on the search bar the phone got badly stuck and would enter the letter that I had clicked 5 seconds later, and after doing that for a bit it got completely stuck. It timed out so the light went off and it would do nothing so I turned it off, opened up again. I thought this was because of low memory as the phone only has 1gb free memory. But when I was scrolling through applications today it again started getting slightly stuck just as before, so I didn't go further and closed the playstore. I know this msg is very detailed but I'm really worried so just making sure you know everything. Thank you in advance.
