not too keen on 3rd party banking apps
It is not he question of keen or eagerness however it is the options and convenience without at the cost of security that matters so i made this app.

Would it be possible for a developer to port this windows mobile app to bada
its a facebook app, as we all know the bada fb app is useless
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9779193
its open source and i have asked the creator and they said we can give it a try
i would try my self but i have no experience atall with any developing, im currently teaching my self basic development but nothing to serious
facebook mobile is better than bada facebook app and only thing is it doesnt have chat option. as you said some developer needs to show love to bada..
@Sturgie
I think some usefull third party facebook apps will be available after bada 2.0 release because nowadays we developers have no access to the internal pusch services and no multitasking is supported, that means you could only use this app if you wont to be notified for changes.
With multitasking and third-party sns integration it would be something easyier to offer a nice app to the users.
My older sister has asked me about programs to block adult sites. The phone is rooted and s-off. I found this
Just wondering if anyone has used it before or has any other ideas

I use ROM toolbox and it has an option to block pornography.
Doesn't seem to be working. I'm on miui 12.9 build

This is a problem with Android, and it depends on how much the owner of the device knows about this operating system to say what it takes to make these "safe". I'm currently using mobifilter.com they sell you info how to use their filtered server and then its implemented through opera mobile (can customize the settings to use only three server of your choice). This has worked well for me.
Another option is to use an app: smart app protector free, protect the apps that you would consider harmful (market, browser, including the installer program) and give the password to someone you trust. This is the best way but also the most restrictive.
afo.com and cleaninternet.com are both working on Android programs, but I don't know that they are released yet.
Hope this helps
Edit, I discovered I'm behind times...Mobifilter.net has a app in play store. The app is free but you will still need to purchase a subscription and set up an account with them. Well worth the cost in my mind!

Hello, I'm trying to download this app from the market using both market enabler and/or modded google play store on my rooted galaxy s2, but it wont let me get it. The app is for the UK only, but I'm a sky subscriber in neighbouring country and would love to be able to use this app. I can schedule remote record on sky's website, but the app seems much more user friendly for phones.
Is there anyone that could assist me on this, or even download it and send it to me?
- It's a free app, but with country restrictions that seem to be bulletproof.
Hello All...How have you been..!!
This might seem to be a duplicate post, but I thought of sharing the information to collate all the processes to save APKs from the market place as well as to get access to wide range of applications on the play store to which we ACE user don't have access..
Well found two processes...
1. For Custom Rom lovers, it is a regular heck to download all the application from market place after each format.. or get the apks from some third party site... So why not back up all the APKs from Play Store itself...
For that I found an awesome application on XDA called REAL APK LEECHER... which allows one to save the apks straight away to their PC and also scan for any updates..
The steps to do so can be found here..
But now there is a loop hole ... you can only download the apps compatible to your device model (corresponding to the Device ID)..
Now the trick though a stupid one...
Simpler way :: Ask your friend having a high end model to add your gmail ID to his/her device... and then access Play Store for at least once.. Take his/her Device id (using *#*#8255#*#*) You are done.. Remove the account... Register the device id/gmail Acc on APK leecher and access most of the apps..
But your friend might not allow to share his/her device ID, what to do now...
Harder way :: Google for some Random Device ID ... Use some app on the play store to change your device ID... Download at least one app from play store... You can again access all the apks using the above process..
2. Well found another application... This is the best.. though it is not free... is the Device Spoofer app...
Spoof you device to any given model... Download as many apps possible..
These helped me... I guess might help some one else too...
I download apps & each time they get updated, I send them to my another phone using bluetooth file transfer & then save them to pc. Much easier right ?

The process seems to be useful for users like me who have slow & limited data usage plans.. Moreover updates done over PC..
Rest the Device Spoofer is an awesome app.. Now i have access to almost all the apps on play store...

It's nice that you can be linked to apps that your device doesn't support remotely but the process seems to be quite complicated and not everyone has a friend willing to share their gmail stuff...

Thats true enough... But the APK Leecher rocks...
N i would suggest everyone to try out the device snoofer... Simply awesome and easy 2 use...
Let's face it, we all know that Google has a monopoly with its set of apps in the US. Why? Because all the popular manufacturers have made a contract with Google to include all of the gapps in their phones. What does that mean? It means that every phone you buy will include Google Play as the default appstore to buy all the software on your phone. There are no other alternatives installed by default. The good thing about Android is that it gives you freedom and with it comes option. These options are four alternatives you can install on your phone or tablet, where you can download all the apps you need.
f-droid
It is appstore that includes a repositorie of only free and open source (FOSS) apps. Does not need an account to work.
Amazon appstore
Amazon's own alternative to Google Play. Needs an Amazon account to work. Offers free and paid apps. There is also free paid app offer each day.
Yandex.store
Yandex known as the Google of Russia launched its own appstore to compete in select markets. Does not need an account to download free apps. For paid apps, you may need an account.
While the number of all these stores combined pales in comparison to Google's own. They are quite good alternatives for those who want to different options and do not want to depend only on Google.
+aptoide store
no registration needed
Awesome thanks cuatr0, I will have to give these a try .
Cheers

THe issue is there are other app sites as well . But they come and go. Say you buy a bunch of apps from one of them . They useally do not track your apps and allow you to reinstall all with one push. And say you buy a 10.00 app then the site closes..
I think google and Amazon are only two i would trust at this time
wheres the 4th alternative?
Because of government rules and regulations, Google Play Store is not working in China. Therefore, there are many Chinese APP Stores such as Baidu phone helper, wandoujia and XX market as a substitution of Play Store. And some of these APP Stores such as Anzhi market may provide paied apps to you. Chinese is also a better option if you are less concerned about your privacy.
i often use the store on androidpit, but i still prefer the easy access to google play
