SKY+ app - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hello, I'm trying to download this app from the market using both market enabler and/or modded google play store on my rooted galaxy s2, but it wont let me get it. The app is for the UK only, but I'm a sky subscriber in neighbouring country and would love to be able to use this app. I can schedule remote record on sky's website, but the app seems much more user friendly for phones.
Is there anyone that could assist me on this, or even download it and send it to me?
- It's a free app, but with country restrictions that seem to be bulletproof.

Market paid apps

Hello.
I just got my Desire and been trying to buy some app, but it seems like I have access only to the free apps, I cannot see any paid app.
Even upgrade (free -> paid) doesn't work. For example, I have tapatalk installed, tried to reply to a thread and the app told me that can be done only if the app is paid. So I choosed to pay, but it brought me to a page which namely doesn't exists.
Anyone having this issue?
Download MarketEnabler or MarketAccess and set it to fake your carrier. This requires root though.
Can you please give me a link to a thread where are instructions how to install MarketEnabler or MarketAccess? I searched the forums, but those terms are used in so many of them :/
Link to MarketAccess: http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
I prefer the former over MarketEnabler because of the cleaner interface and because it's ad-free.

[Q] Xperia PLAY App - Non-Verizon

Can anyone provide me with a unmodified Xperia PLAY app from any of the non-Verizon system images (v2.3.3 or newer)? Thanks.
Correction: I need the market based com.sonyericsson.androidapp.storefront.apk instead of the Verizon version. The semcsuite.apk works fine.
Edit 2: It appears that replacing both apks & deleting the VZ Apps apk doesn't change how the PLAY app accesses the market. I think I need more insight as to how it all works together.
I've always been curious on this too, VCast could not be any more useless.
Just as a side note on this, NEVER buy games from the Vcast store. Any of the ones marked "subscription" even if you pay for the full version, require a data connection to play so they can "verify" you actually paid for them with your account. Means airplane mode or a low/no service area you can't play games you paid your hard earned money for. I contacted Verizon on this and they refunded me for a game and I let them know this is a complete BS policy.

[Q] Market Question

I am unable to purchase SetCPU (or any other program) from the marketplace I think it is because of my location (Kazakhstan).
I wish to purchase... how can i do this? Please help!!! I have given all of my credit card details to my google account.. but still i cannot buy
Please help me....
SetCPU ? Isn't it free in xda-dev for us xda-dev users ? Or you can try "no-frills", it's free from the market.
Anyway, have you tried "Market Enabler" ? Set your operator to T-Mobile - USA then maybe you can purchase apps from Market.

Absolutely true its free for us, but i am unable to buy any apps.. i have tried "Market Enabler" from the market and it (apparently) fakes the sim to T-Mobile USA, but still i am unable to purchase as it says that "your devise is incompatible"... it says this even when i access the market from the internet :-(

1. when using market enabler, you should set to "fake on boot" so everytime you boot up your phone, you set your phone for the US market (or whatever market you want, really)
2. after having set market enabler, erase data from market app as well as uninstall market updates
3. reboot device and open market - paid apps should now work
4. (dont know if that one still applies, but i would think it does): you need a credit card registered in the country you set for market enabler - means as much as: if you want to purchase an app using the US market, you need an US credit card
5. PC browser uses the countries market your pc is in, unless you use a VPN (or proxy) to access another market! so if the country you sit in doesnt support paid apps, you can't purchase them from your PC

[Q] Google Wallet & Play Store

Could anyone please explain why the google wallet is now on the play store but from what I have a CDMA Verizon Galaxy Nexus is not allowed to download but other phones are?
I also know that you can get an APK for google wallet and install it just the same but im curious as to google's reasoning behind why we can actually download it off the store.
Use Chrome to Phone, visit the Google Wallet page in the Play store on your computer and send the link to your phone. Open the link you sent with market and install it. You can then update the app (or should be able to) via the market when there are updates.
As for why you can't directly install it on your phone, talk to Verizon. I'd guess it has to due with Google Wallet competing with their mobile payment initiative, ISIS or whatever it is called.

Thanks for the work around but it doesn't let me saying it isn't available by my carrier or country.

Because Verizon is being dickheaded (and also violating the terms of their Auction 73 spectrum acquisition), and Google isn't telling them to shove it.

How I got it working
So I was messing around with my Galaxy Nexus and my buddy who has AT&T added his account to my phone. He then went into the Play store, searched for and installed Google Wallet. With his account still on the device, I registered for Wallet and afterward, removed his account. Haven't had the chance to test if it works in a real setting but I will tomorrow with my morning coffee.
There wasn't any need to install an apk from some random source, it was straight from the play store on the phone. The only drawback is that it doesn't show up under my apps.
Could someone else verify this works for them?

Books / Movies / Magazines to non-US residents

\Hello,
My parents were in the US for a while, so they bought me a Nexus 7.
They also bought one for each of them and theirs were activated while in america, so they have magazines, movies and books working when they got back.
For me the only thing working is Play Music but, since it works, made me wonder if it is possible to get movies/books/magazines working...
It has to be possible..
Have anyone done that already?
If so, how?
Thank you!
In the UK?

Music is still a grey area but should work, no problem with books or movies, magazines not so much.
I use a vpn for this and switch off the gps and location services......works 99% of the time.....im in ireland
How does it work out in terms of billing? Does it go through all right?

I use Zinio. It has a much better magazine selection and is available worldwide, I think. It does work in Canada.

I set up my nexus 7 this way, put irish credit card on it and got the play credit on my google account.
I was wondering the same thing i heardu can unlock them but u cant buy anything, atleast not in Canada.

I also recommend Zinio. Usually have some good special on magazine subscriptions too.
I got the Books to work using a VPN. I was able to download a couple of free ones. Didn't try buying any but I presume it would work if you get the US Play Store working through a VPN.
Using DroidVPN and Market Enabler you can access the US Play Store, but without a US credit card you cannot purchase anything from movies/books/magazines/music (even if it's free!) So maybe if you can get a prepaid US credit card it will work but I'm not sure..
Great ideas.
Thank you, guys.
I used this method to buy stuff from Google Play: http://goo.gl/mHhY8
In short, use VPN to access the Google Play, either through the web or the app. I personally use Hide My Ass! and Super Free VPN to buy books and music.
Once I bought them I can access the contents without VPN.
