Hi -- I'm having a tough time finding an MHL-to-HDMI Adapter for the Galaxy Nexus around New York City, but there's an HTC-branded one that's widely available (for the Sensation) at T-Mobile shops. It _looks_ like it should work for the Galaxy Nexus. Does anyone know if it will?

Try going into a Verizon store they sell them and it will work with a GSM model

I just bought the Samsung MHL-HDMI adapter from Amazon for $15 bucks. Works great. Says its for the Galaxy S2 but it works great on our phone too. And matches it pretty well.

no works perfectly. I only bought it temporarily to test out HDMI mirroring and to wait for the one I bought for $10 on ebay to arrive.
Funny thing is that the sales guys said it would only work on the Sensation (since the package said it), but I knew better. When I returned it, the lady said "let me guess you tried this on the Galaxy nexus?" I said "Yes, but it worked perfectly, I just dont want it anymore"
Thanks for all the information, everyone. I ended up trying both Verizon's Galaxy Nexus adapter and T Mobile's Sensation one for my HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus. Verizon's worked initially but then only intermittently; whereas T Mobile's works great despite officially only being for the HTC Sensation.

someone offered to trade me a white unlocked galaxy nexus i9250 + $150 for my black At&t Note......tempted....what to do , what to do.....
like the note...but want ics....and sometimes would like a smaller phone....but not sure....
Do it, if you don't like the nexus sell it soon after and buy another note. Instant profit.
Trade it. You'll like it way more.
If you don't have to have the huge screen + stylus, get the Nexus.
so much biased post going on here. if you posted the same thread in the galaxy note forum, people would say stick with it.
go to a verizon store or something and TRY the phone out. Compare how it feels in the hand to your galaxy note. Watch youtube videos / reviews etc etc.
go to that person and TRY comparing the phone to yours. if you like what you see, or if you don't then conclude but don't conclude off of these posts in the forum.
The note, neither a tablet nor a smartphone, doesn't fit in a pocket, and still no official ics support, y would anyone even consider buying it.. Anyways, get the gnex and enjoy vanilla android.

Maybe because people actually like its size and the possibilities that come with incorporating a stylus?

it's a matter of taste guys, OP clearly says "like the note...but want ics....and sometimes would like a smaller phone" , so clearly he is one of those (including me) who think that holding a 5.3" piece of plastic to ur ear just looks ridiculous.

If I had a choice of Note or the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, I would easily take the Note. I dislike AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in my area, so the Note isn't an option for me.
The Note fits in half of the pockets in my wardrobe, and I can make phone calls one handed comfortably. The way I use my phone, I find the note more suitable for my needs.
A Nexus Note would be ideal for me. 5.7in screen, Jelly Bean, 3k mah battery+
Edit: oops, totally wrong post :banghead:

Hi guys, I have the S3 i9300 right now and was looking at the Note 2. Can someone else who has made the jump comment on it? Do you regret it at all?

Regrets? Hell no.
Theres so many amazing things about the note 2 but I dont feel like writing for years. But the S3 is also great so either way youre in good position.

I changed my S III for Note 2 also. The only feature that i am missing in S III now is the smaller more handy size against the punch of stylus & new features is not comparable to the S III. It is all about your needs!
I have both the s3 and Note2 in front of me right now, I will be keeping both for the forseeable future, not sure if I will use the s3 much now, but I like to have the option.

Why
Sorry for the thread jack.
To the guys who've upgraded.
What do you like more about the Note compared to the S3
I've currently got the OG Note and can get the Note 2 or S3 tomorrow, but I'm not sure if there is such a big difference compared to the S3 as there was with the OG note and the S2?

I'm sure Apple fanboy will say otherwise, but I'm not one. The question is why the US get it so late. This is what we get to have a kimchi company making a better phone. But yea the screen will be significantly better, a non-pentile AMOLED. I'm glad I waited instead of trying to get GS3 earlier.

Yes.
The battery on Note II is huge! You can easily get 15 hours with very heavy use!
Been using both for the last week its not the same phone note II is a much more creative phone but it is to me a little too big!
The battery is a little bit better but not that much better maybe it will improve with custom rom and kernel

If you can handle the size and forking out more cash then yes otherwise no.
The only major criticism I have against the note 2 is the screen sharpness, the text just doesnt look as crisp as it doescon the S3.
Everything else is better, faster and smoother on the note 2.
So im going to buy a new phone which one do you guys think is better to purchase
T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III or Google Nexus 4
The Nexus 4. The N4 has much better specs than the US S3. Also, if you are going to buy the phone off-contract, the N4 is around half the price of the Galaxy S3.

Yep do this. Is the S4 coming out?.. sorry if it sounds stupid but I read that the Koreans are gonna announce it February and release it on March. Sounds crazy but that's kinda the only reason why I decided not to upgrade to S3.
I would choose S3 over the N4. N4 doesn't have an external storage and the most it has I think is 16gb. I'm using a 34gb card with my S2 and on the S3 I'll be using a 64(I think it's 64?...)gb card on it. Plus N4 had no LTE.. if your sticking with T-Mobile then LTE compatibility shouldn't matter. Screen is smaller.. I dunno there was a bunch of other stuff. Google it.

That would be my number one reason as well. I save all the important stuff from my phone on the micro sd (before it goes on the hard drive) and if the phone dies, my precious data will not.
N4
I think a benefit of the N4 would be the android updates would come first to it since its Google's new flagship phone. The specs are good on both and would work flawlessly.
One of the factors that I would look at is the expandable memory cuz u never know if ur gonna need. Both r good phones but on the n4 I think u well run out of space faster and surprise !! no extra memory. Went through this on my n7 it is nice having the vanilla flaver though.
on my t989 enjoying sith3, thank u to all

Can anyone help me out here?
I am looking at getting a Galaxy S2 for my little bro with T-mobile. He is not really big on apps and doesn't care much about Specs really. Just something that has reasonably good call quality, he can text on and download apps on when needed.
It is either this Galaxy S2(which is like 2 years old) or the new Galaxy S Light that is a midrange T-mobile phone that just came out.
IS this still a good buy? It's currently going for free on T-mobile so i was just curious.
Are there any glaring issues with the Galaxy S2?
