How to Kill App via Back Button ?!?!?!? i saw it in some roms but how to apply it to stock 587 rom ?
As I know, that's a custom developer feature and cannot be enabled on a stock 587 ROM, I repeat AS FAR AS I KNOW.
you must unfortunately for now install a custom rom which supports it such as miui or hybrid ics.
I have never seen any rom supporting this function without being a modified one.
I think it's in development

I am looking for a good rom for my xperia arc. Currently stock ICS 4.04 is installed(not rooted) and i am looking for a rom which provide better performance and better RAM management. I have checked various threads and realized that most of custom rom out there are buggy some of them does not support HDMI some having issues with WIFI etc . So, please suggest me a ram which is best in terms of performance without having these major bugs. I want bravia engine, Xloud, Mega Bass etc phone features which improve its audio/display quality and i donot want all those bloat ware timescape, integrated facebook etc which slows down the phone. Considering this please suggest the best rom. If possible please refer a link/complete guide how to root/unlock bootloader(if required) to install that ram. Any help would be appriciated.

CM9 if you want ICS
CM10 if you want JB (some stuff still doesn't work as it supposed to)
But in my opinion, other than those two I mentioned above, the best custom ROM is debloatwared-supercharged-updated adreno libs-minimally init.d tweaked STOCK ROM with your favorite custom kernel.
Look at my sig for my stock ROM mix and match in general. I also use aeon's lockscreen and smallapps port, custom systemui.apk, cybershot mod, and acid audio engine mod. Stock ROM with that config is more than enough for me. Fast and stable

Kernel and Rom are 2 diff things. The kernel doesnt change wen u flash a rom. The main thing here is that, if u r flashing ics based rom den u shud hav ics based kernel. That means u r now on stock kernel and ultimate hd v2 rom.
If u wanna flash adv stock kernel, there is a link on the ultimate hd thread. You ll hav to use fastboot for flashing kernels.
About lucky patcher, in ultimate v2 there is some prob with it. The dev is going to fix it in ultimate v3.
Hello peers, I am on Xperia V right now but also have an Xperia Arc in my closet. So I wanted to make it come to life again with a nice ROM. But there are so many ROMs now in the forum so I can't make a decision since I have been away for long time here and only hanging around in the Xperia V (LT25i) forum.
I need help in finding a ROM for my unlocked bootloader Arc (LT15i) that dosen't have to be flashed with Arc S (LT18i) firmware first.
I want just the basics-, nothing fancy and ICS with some minor tweaks and added performance boost etc (On-screen-buttons would be nice too).
Please help me find a ROM, and kindly provide a link to the developer thread.
I thank you much in advance.
For the beginning i would recommend one of the following ROMs : Viper Xperia and UHD 3.0.2. I would Choose Viper Xperia (PDroid ) but this is only my opinion.
Hi datagubben,
You can flash LT18i .ftf first just so you have 420MB in /system partition, instead of 380MB of LT15i. Other than that there's no differences.
If you want a nice ICS ROM with on screen buttons I would suggest Pureness ROM by ThilinaC.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788701
He's not developing it anymore, but it is the best looking one out there, in my opinion at least.

I've know that
- 2011 devices are arc, Ray, Play, Neo, Pro
- They have officilal ICS ROMs.
- But only Play doesn't have.
It is right?
Actually I want official ICS ROM,
not custom rom.
Although its perfomence isn't good.
I just want to flash.
So...
there is any ICS ROM ported official ROM of other devices?
As similar as possible official ROM.
Thanks.

Ics beta for play,its official
http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/2c02/hwa6wevxht5aumsfg.jpg?size_id=5
Well, Neo L have (exactly) same hardware as Play (minus touchpads and physicly reversed camera) and it has official ICS. Few roms are based on that ics:
TrueAncestor, ICS Original+, Neo2Play, or you can just flash Neo L firmware if you want the "true taste" of (bloated ) ICS.
There are also Xplaystation ROM and Johnnzy's ROM based on ics beta for Play, fully working.
Working good on any kernel for Play (doomlords, lupus or turbo kernel).

I know it can be confusing, so it is best to flash kernel recommended by rom owner.
But, i can try to explain:
There are two (2) type of roms:
-Stock (based on sony's firmware)
-Aosp (or aokp, cm or miui)
So, you have Stock gb and ics, but no Stock jb.
For Aosp based roms, you have cm7 as gb based, cm9 as ics based and cm10 as jb based (i don't know what is miui based on)
To be able to boot rom, you need kernel that match type of rom you want to install.
Some version of kernels can boot dual type roms:
Example:
1: ics/gb Stock - can boot ics and gb roms based on Stock firmware
2: ics/gb cm - can boot ics and gb based on aosp ics gb roms
3:lupus v8 jb can boot Aosp jb and Aosp ics roms, and MAYBE that's the
kernel you are searching.
The best way is to search in kernels thread based on rom you want to install

dude, that makes a lot of sense, ever since i installed the kernel that i mentioned earlier i have been having random issues with some custom roms
usun lupus ics v12 720 on verizon xperia play
Gin2jelly bean rom is not recognized by my computer and wom was amazing but i dont like when developers put too much apps in it . i guess the problem was the kernel i am using
ICE CREAM PURENESS : laggiest thing ever, dont know why
[ROM][GSM] Gamer 4 [Ultimate Sony experience], this rom i wanted to install because it has on screen softkey buttons. so i could use those instead of the hardware one, but have to uninstall because the didnt appear on screen and has lots of apps.
SLIMBEAN: WELL I COULDNT INSTALL IT AND KERNEL KEPT ON BOOTING LIKE CRAZY.
NOW I AM BACK WITH THE BEST ICS ROM IN MY OPINION THE TRUE ANCESTOR FINAL EDITION, WHICH I LOVE BUT IT DOESNT HAVE THE SOFTKEY BUTTONS
but now that you clarify this i might try to flash a jelly bean kernel since google claims that jellybean is the one to beat lag.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR REPLYING.

Well, just to add, if you want gaming perfomance, use gb roms. Ics is stable these days, but little slower then gb in gaming. Jb is only Aosp based, it's good in gaming, but some things are still "work in progress".
Ps: we where all noobs at some point
Ask whatever you want (just do not ask for ETA)

Eta is asking when something will come out. Neo2play is the Rom that he made and its in his Signature that's why you see it in all his posts. That rom doesn't haven't screen buttons but it does give you lots of choice in what you use to fully customize your phone through aroma installer. It should work if you have an ics kernel but it has to be a stock ics kernel not aosp. If your using true ancestor then that means neo2play should work on the sane kernel
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
True ancestor rom, as my rom also, is based on Stock ics for Neo L (since that phone have exactly same hardware as play, minus touchpafs). My rom came out later, but i modded it more, and put aroma installer with bunch of rom options (gamers like less things installed, casual gamers sacrifice ram for the sake of extra stuff).
Some roms have osb (on screen buttons), but you'll have to search for it.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
If you really want osb then you can use markphytons nxt ics revolution rom. He removed it from xda but you can probably find a link for it somewhere in q&a section
