Coming back to this, Sensation is a great phone. I love Htc sebse but might choose Galaxy S2 over it.
But i'll have to wait for a minimum of 6 months.
My phone changing has been very different to others
Some old sony erikson phone than nokia e63 than Iphone 3GS than nokia e 63 than wildfire.

I got the sensation XE after my wild fire and i never looked back. Specs wise it is a brilliant phone with full s-off and a great dev section. Only let down was htcs lack of updates. But with xda we are rocking 4.2.2 stable

mine will probably be htc evo 3d or sgs2. i don't want to switch into samsung because.i am htc fanboy but sgs2 is faster unfortunately ); maybe because of sense on htc );

Its really nice to hear that people are getting new phones but believe me without wildfire, you wouldn't know much about internal memory, gpu's importance, partition sdcard etc.
And getting a better phone than this would feel like heaven. Atleast with this, u guyz tried FROYO and GB which you wouldnt have tried with a better phone
Still i'm happy with this.

yup. i expect it can be as fast as sgs2 with modded rom. i would like to play ganes such like modern combat 3 or 4. ipod 4g handled with 3rd part but it was little bit laggy. probably because of 256 ram & 800 mhz

Sgs2 has handled every game I've thrown at it nicely (even when underclocked) the only problem with it is the sound chip and hwcomposer which made it tricky to port jb in the beginning so when klp is released we might be a bit slow at getting it. Overall though it's still a beast, still has great development and a huge choice of custom roms and can still fight it out with the best of them....

i love S galaxy s2 my mom has it, but its too expensive for me second hand 200 euro i have maximum 130-135
And the Sensation fits every need
-cheap(120-135eu)
-good development
-1.2 ghz
-dual core
-better and bigger screen than sgs2
960x540px vs 800x480
4,3'' vs 4,27''
but the s2 is faster

I will probably get my new device in november or december this year, gonna spend max 650€ on it Hope that there will be a Nexus 5 ♥

i don't trust sony. maybe because of my ps3. when it was on warranty time i sent it to authorised service of sony in poland and they told me that they can't replace part hardware part which is broken and they asked me to send it to general sony service in france for only 200 euro haha.

Another good thing about Samsung is they are a lot more open to the idea of what happens here at xda, they are simple to unlock, customize and return to stock. And they also take input from some of the top devs here. None of the others do....

Compare arc S to U.... U wins by miles. It has a lot faster processor and a lot faster GPU.
Compare One V to arc S - One V wins by miles. One V has beautiful display + decent processor (it is 1ghz but in reality, it was underclocked by htc from 1.4 to 1ghz because of the casing).
Compare One V to U - Xperia U wins by miles IF you are interested only in playing games, running apps faster and you are not interested in any kind of deving, not even root.
Xperia comes with a powerful GPU, the MALI 400 - the one that you can find in Galaxy S2, and a dual core processor Cortex A9 - 1ghz - again - the same processor that comes with Galaxy S2.
So IF you want only playing games, multimedia and such... 100% go for Xperia U.
Have a nice day!

That's a very informtive response and i thank you for it but are you sure those are the specs of the xperia U? I think you may have mixed them up with the specs of the xperia P.
Also, woudn't the arc S be superior due to it's faster processor (than the one V). You say it wins by miles but why?

Think I may go for the one V after all. Dont think the others are worth the £80 more or so and they are somewhat past the price range. Thanks for all the help!

exactly. if u like modifications then choose dhd. if u want to try something new then buy hd7. imo better will be dhd because you can modify this phone in almost every way which fit to you and also you have much more available apps than windows has

Well, the Nexus S still has a pretty good dev community.
Even though Google dropped it from the official 4.2 update list, there's already custom ROMs for it.
Overall, I'd recommend this over the DHD or HD7
im on the sensation XE and i am pretty happy. full s-off, decent rom development. free sim unlock and fully running jellybean.
I think u shouldn't buy something from HTC (One V same hardware as DHD and its actually 3 years old) and because of the miserable build quality of htc phones im really pissed off from my Htc one X
Why the Nexus S not the GNex? in germany the galaxy Nexus cost just 20 bucks more i think u should buy this phone it's really great!
I personally switch to the Nexus 4
Same I would go for the Nexus 4. In the UK the Nexus 4 is £279 for the 16 gb. For the specs that is a big deal!
Thank you guys all of yo,as a matter of fact i got the best offer for nokia lumia 710 which is WP phone so i will be selling my wildfire for sure and buying lumia
Thanks again
Cheers
One thing you should keep on mind that wp7 devices will not be updated to wp8 whereas android phones van be updated to latest version even if the manufacturer stops updating so if you want to buy windows phone then buy only wp8 else you will be stuck forever.

Re: What is your next phone after HOX and NO A-OFF
To be honest my first android phone was HTC ,I had all the phones with all the problems you mentioned ,I think I need to get away to Samsung phones and see the performance ,get accustomed with rooting and all with Samsung and then decide if its worth it ,cause honestly I couldn't care less about sense and built quality if performance and battery life is good ,the end of the day phone life is 2 years.im Sure a plastic Samsung will last 2 years rather than good built quality with component deffects and all the crap that HTC is doing now
htc one x
htc again
Me too. I like sense but feed up of HTC and their antics. I'm going to move to xperia z

i had the htc tytn then desire and now one x ,next phone will be samsung, there so much easier to mod ,cant htc see thats why samsung have a huge customer base,
My OneX stopped working due to water damage. Not stocked anymore so insurance gave me a GS3 32g.
Had one when released and hated it.
New one on jellybean is good though.
Still miss the one x but Samsung aren't really that bad. Stock vs stock goes to HTC with Sense.

No more HTC i'm done with them. I might go for Xperia XL or any other device .. Maybe the next MIUI device rumored with T4.
I dont know yet, i have hox and sg3, so i guess no one this year, no more HTC for sure... No soff, so, by htc. Gonna break for sure, at least phones. Will keep building only windows phones, so i predict competition with nokia only.
So the only brand is Sony and Samy, Sony will see no updates as it should, son maybe ending with Samsung.
Thanks for everything Htc, great phone, tegra is great on gaming but battery sucks in JB. Uncontrolled ota, ruu encrypted.. And more.. But well, hox still a great phone but .won't buy an htc phone anymore. Even if they give us SOFF.
And i dont lie.

If S4 has awesome design then I ll go for it. Otherwise HOX until sth nice pops up!

Unless HTC goes back to its glory days, this November I am getting a GS4 or the GNote 3.
I'm done with HTC. If I want to have a expensive peace of crap I will buy a IPhone. Because of there strategie to keep the devices locked within the future they should keep this trash!
I'm waiting for my Note2.

I have worked with a lot of devices on xda ,and to be honest HOX has the least attention
I own a newly bought HTC Sensation XE and it has the twice the support that HOX has though its a years older than One X
beside the HTC One X hasnt been lucky with Tegra Chip inside since this chip isnt popular at all and it doesnt has any kind of support
,,lol
another point Samsung Galaxy S2 even has more support than both of these devices together
SO when it comes to your question ? I think our device here is dying fast when it comes to support

nexus 1 is more popular than this mighty HOX . and yes NEXUS 1 has a KITKAT ROM running on it

Take a look at the legendary HD2 it's support beats the one x in every way that's due to the chip and s-off... And yes nexus devices support is way better duo to its price what broke the one x is the ****ty Tegra chip nvidia is known at writing bad drivers for Linux kernels so i wouldn't be surprised... When i bought the one x i knew that the support won't be amazing but i thought we will have s-off because that didn't happen the support is very bad so mhhh.. Let's see if the next htc gets the 805 snapdragon chip this would be really interesting if not the N5 will always be there

That's what I decided after this HTC experience as well. It was my first Android phone, and now I know that Nexus is the way to go.
Even HTC Desire has better support than HOX at the moment.
Lesson learnt, only buy Qualcomm chipset based phones
