You have a very old h-boot so you need to upgrade it first!!
So you need to flash the stock rom for your hboot or the ruu of your hboot and then when the hboot is 1.36 or 1.39 are the two best, you can flash a rom without problems!!
You dont have to unlock bootloader because is unlocked!

6: you install a new rom by
Flashing the boot.img with fastboot commands, make a FULL wipe in recovery and install a new rom.
The easiest way to get you upgraded is to get you to full stock and update via official HTC ota
Can you perform a fastboot command :
Fastboot getvar version-main

Here is a simple tutorial on how to unlock bootloader and root your Htc One V.
Do this AT YOUR OWN RISK and I don't guarantee it will work on all Htc One V (but successfully done on my Htc One V (PrimoU)).
First: Credits go to:
1) paulobrien for his tools & guide
2) bagofcrap24 for the stolen unlocking bootloader tutorial..
Second: It is good to have official RUU for your Htc One V version. You can find the official RUU HERE(credit : JMZ) & HTCSync in case you something goes wrong and you need to revive your One V.
Or make a nandroid backup after you successfully unlock the bootloader. How ? Read further below. So read fully before you attempt to unlock bootloader and rooting.
Third: the tutorial
Unlocking Your Bootloader
Note: After doing unlocking bootloader, all your data/apps are gone so make a backup to your PC first.
You will need to run the initial setup again.
1. Go Here "http://www.htcdev.com/" and create yourself an account on HTCDEV.
2. Download These Fastboot Files
3. Make a new folder on your C: drive called fastboot.
4. Extract The Zip downloaded in step 2 to the new folder
5. Go Here http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ and select "All Other Supported Models" and "then begin unlock bootloader"
6. Yes, Tick both Boxes, Proceed
7. Skip up to step 8 as we have all we need for the first 7 steps
8. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
9. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
10. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
11. plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt.
(windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK
(Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter)
12. cd to your folder where we put fastboot files cd c:\fastboot
13. type this into your command prompt window fastboot oem get_identifier_token
14. select & copy the text as per step 9 on the HTCDev website
15. paste your identifier token into the box at the bottom and submit
You Will Very Shortly Receive an email from HTCDev with a link to the second part of the instructions and your "Unlock_code.bin" attached
16. download the "Unlock_code.bin" from the email and save it to the same folder that we extracted fastboot files to in step 2
17. type this into your command prompt window fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
18. The Display Will change on your phone, press Vol + to accept and power to confirm.
Congratulations You Have Successfully Unlocked Your Bootloader
UPDATE: Read the IMPORTANT note added below
Rooting with Superboot for GSM Device (Primo U)
1. Download r1-primo-superboot.zip to your computer and extract in any directory.
2. Download the modded boot.superboot.img
3. Replace the boot.superboot.img in the folder that you extracted just now (r1-primo-superboot).
Or download one of the Superboot that relevant to your device HERE
4. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
5. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
6. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
7. Connect your phone to PC
8. Double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’
Rooting with Superboot for CDMA Device (Primo C)
1. Download r1-primo-cdma-superboot.zip to your computer and extract in any directory.
2. Power off your phone by holding the power button down for 5-7 seconds (the three keys will flash a few times then it will power off)
3. Hold volume down button, the device will boot to HBOOT
4. Select Fastboot With Volume+or- then press Power once (you'll be in fastboot mode)
5. Connect your phone to PC
6. Double click ‘install-superboot-windows.bat’
Once it complete, the phone will reboot on its own. In app drawer you will see a SuperSU icon, click on it and update SU binary then you are done with rooting your Htc One V.
You can try any app with root access to confirm it is working.

IMPORTANT
As some people forget to make a nandroid backup for their stock ROM, after they successfully unlocked their device,
when a soft brick happens, it will be a big problem to be back on stock when they are unable to find the official RUU for their device.
So make sure, after successfully unlocked your device, don't do anything else yet, flash the CWM recovery and make a nandroid, make nandroid and nandroid of your stock ROM.
Download the Recovery for GSM Device:
CWM 5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28153112
Direct download link : http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.8.4.5-primou.img
CWM 6 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871243 (the latest version as at 05 Sep 2012)
Download the Recovery for CDMA Device:
CWM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749798
How to make a nandroid backup ?
Once the CWM recovery installed:
Press power once (to go to hboot)
press volume down/up to navigate the menu to RECOVERY, press POWER once
Once in the RECOVERY menu:
click backup and restore
click backup
the backup process is running. It will be a few minutes to complete.
once complete, check whether the backup is successful
click backup and restore
click restore
you will see your backup files, e.g: 2012-06-12.0.13.04
click Go Back or use the back button
click reboot system now to boot your device
once fully booted, mount your sdcard to PC, browse to \clockworkmod\backup and copy the 2012-06-12.0.13.04 folder to your PC as a second backup in case something is wrong with your sdcard.
2012-06-12.0.13.04 is an example only, you will get a different no.
Alternatively, you also can use TWRP recovery:
GSM version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721749
CDMA version - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764183
Now you are ready to do the rooting process.
Once your device is rooted, you are free to do whatever you want to do with your device, to flash a custom ROM, a custom kernel... whatever.
If soft brick happens and there is no official RUU, a stock nandroid backup may helps you
It doesn't work !!!!
It stucks at -waiting for device- in
11. type this into your command prompt window fastboot oem get_identifier_token
It works perfectly when s off and root. But why cant i gain root access when i already have SU app?

I don't see why rooting is a development issue. Development is for, well, software development like ROMs and recoveries, etc. Rooting is required to develop, but isn't development per-se.

I just give a basic explanation:
S-Off - security off - you can change everything including hboot partition layout, radio, system, data & recovery
S-On - opposite of the above, all cannot be change (which normally with a locked bootloader)
S-On + unlocked bootloader - you can change only system, data & recovery
RUU - ROM Update Utility - and exe file which consist all the OS files to be installed to the phone.

We have to wait until a developer finds an exploit.
To root, it is mandatory to have S-OFF?
Can I just make the root without the S-OFF?
Im here again:
How can I make S-OFF in my HTC One V, the HTCDev teaches seeks to remove the battery, but the HTC One V has internal battery (you can not remove)?
Someone who has made S-OFF on your HTC One V, could you help me?

You cannot do restore factory settings when you moved some system apks out from nand.
In order to flash a RUU:
1) you need an official RUU for your device.
2) you have htc usb drivers installed on PC.
3) relock the bootloader
in fastboot mode type fastboot oem lock
4) flash RUU
Do you have some kind of note of your actual software version number ?

Find the ruu for Europe (1.56.401.1)
You cannot downgrade..
Sent from my HTC One V using XDA
Before you start, you will need to set up your computer to properly recognize the phone. You probably did this when rooting originally, but just in case... Install SDK tools for Android, Java runtime, and HTC Sync.
About HTC Sync: The only reason you need HTC Sync installed is for the USB drivers that come with it. But the program itself has been known to cause conflicts. Make sure that HTC Sync is not running in the background by opening Task Manager in Windows and killing it if you find it lurking in there.
Here we go:
1. Download the correct RUU (ROM Update Utility) for your device from androidfiles.org. Make sure you download a Primo_C RUU for a CDMA device (no sim card) or a Primo_U RUU for a GSM device (uses a sim card)!! Also make sure you get the correct RUU for your carrier.
2. Charge the battery above 50% or for at least one hour. If the battery dies during the flashing process, you could hard brick the phone!
3. Run the RUU until the wizard comes up. While the RUU wizard is open, find the temporary folder it created. (Open Explorer in Windows and type %temp% in the navigation bar.) There will be two folders with long encrypted names. In one of them you will find ROM.zip. Open it with 7zip and extract recovery.img or recovery_signed.img. Put it in the location were you've installed Android SDK tools. This is the stock HTC Recovery and it is needed to run the RUU.
4. Boot the phone into bootloader (power off, hold down volume and press power) and highlight FASTBOOT using the volume rocker and pressing power. Then connect the USB cable. You should see FASTBOOT USB.
5. Open a command prompt in Windows and navigate to the folder where you installed Android SDK tools. Flash the stock recovery extracted in step 3 above using the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
or
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
6. Relock the bootloader using the following command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
7. Re-run the RUU. It will restore the device to it's original condition, locked (though *** RELOCKED ***) and unrooted.
Once the install is done you'll have unlock the bootloader again using the token you already have from the first time, reflash CWM Recovery and re-root. All this will be 10x easier than the first time.
If you do re-root your phone, be 100% you backup the stock ROM in ClockworkMod Recovery before making changes!
Hi
Thanks for that perfect decsription exactly when I needed it
I just had a weired effect with my new windows 7 laptop that I want to share.
I installed the USB drivers and "fastboot devices" showed my HTC fine
but even flashing the stock recovery image was not working.
So it was stucking in the "Sending" part and never continued.
I then moved to my old laptop with Vista did exactly the same things
and there it worked without problems.
I disabled virus scanner, checked for htsync and used the original USB cable
without success.
But now I know why I normally never touch Windows and only
work on linux

"Waiting for Device" at fastboot usually related to bootloader driver. You need Android USB Driver

Now I've tested some roms and I wanted to revert back to stock rom.
I've downloaded RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_HTC_Europe_2.08.401.2_Radio_20.72.30.0833U_3831.17.00.18_M_release_263376_signed, and got recovery_signed and boot_signed images. Then I've went to fastboot, did flash recovery and boot partitions, and oem locked bootloader. Afterwards I booted my phone and entered PIN. Then I fired up RUU*.exe file, and I have 155 error. What the heck? Something I missed?

Flashing RUU to revert to stock
- you must have the correct RUU for your device.
- if you are not sure, download CID Getter from Play Store and run it, it will show your CID.
- with your CID, you may be able to find a correct RUU for your device
then (even though some people may not agree with this, but this will bring no harm and it is noob-proof) do this:
1- flash a stock recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
2- flash a stock boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
3- re-lock bootloader
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
4- flash RUU
NOTE: There is no boot/reboot and enter pin in between.

Here we go:
1. Download the correct RUU for your device from Football's Primo Shipped ROM Collection.
4. Boot the phone into bootloader (power off, hold down volume and press power) and highlight FASTBOOT/B] using the volume rocker and pressing power.
If you do re-root your phone, be 100% you backup the stock ROM in ClockworkMod Recovery before making changes!

hello,
I want to unroot my WFS if possible.
I got Android 2.3.5 and clockworkk recovery, which I want to 'delete'.
So to make a long story short, I want it back as I bought it, if possible .
stbe.
relock your bootloader first
then flash stock ruu
you will be unrooted
to flash stock recovery, extract recovery.img from stock ruu and place it in c:\
connect your phone to pc in fastboot mode (you should have android sdk installed)
open cmd and type "cd c:\" without quotes
type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
now you should have stock recovery

first of all for fully unroot you need stock ruu (like if your wfs model is european brand your stock ruu is eu 2.26.401.3 )
you can find it in android dev thread>marvel/marvelc stock ruu thread by jmztaylor
then run it on computer..(you can see now update wizard, dont close it)
now open task manager see processes you will see process named ARUwizard (something) right click and select open location.
now you will see temp folder is opened..you will find rom.zip in that folder..copy that zip file (its our stock ruu)
now you can close that update wizard because we got our rom.zip
now renamed rom.zip to PG76IMG.zip
now go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530864
and download bootloader control tool.
flash it from cwm recovery..
A Menu-type will appear. It will show you 4 options:
Unlock Bootloader
Lock Bootloader (Guarantee Mode)
Lock Bootloader (Relocked State)
Supervision
Now, choose 2 or 3 option.
Then say "NO" to reboot. Go back to the main menu of CWM.
It'll reboot the recovery and get you the main menu again.
then flash that tool again now choose supervision and reboot..
now time to make gold card.
go here,
http://www.mediafire.com/?hdxoe6e5km434tb
download it and put phone in debugging mode and select mmc00 mmc01 (try one by one till ones give u cid)
then put cid in given website and you will hv now goldcard.img
put it phone in usb mounting mode, and put that PG76IMG.zip on it and patch with goldcard.img
now just put that sdcard on your phone and wait...phone will detect zip and it ll asked for confirmation..say yes with volume up and you will be unrooted after sometimes(this process takes upto 5-10 min)
good luck
IMP NOTE :
AS GOLDCARD CREATION WEBSITE IS PROBABLY CLOSED,FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL TO CREATE BOO.IMG AND THEN PATCH IT WITH GOLDCARDCREATOR
1) download this and extract it.
http://d-h.st/UGV
2) Start CMD as administrator.
3)Type, then press ENTER after each command:
Code:
cd c:\gcard
gcard.exe -r -c [COLOR="Indigo"]enteryourmmccode[/COLOR] -o Chiffinske.img
4) now rename chiffinske.img to boot.img and patch it with goldcard creator utility.
( thanks a lot to genepool to create this script so we can create boot.img without that website )

As I want only the ROM back. But staying Unlocked and Rooted (for things like Int2Ext) can I just flash the Rom.zip/PG76IMG.zip as a nomal ROM. Meaning "Install from SD" at the recovery mode.

You're on a custom ROM mate!

You just got this phone, so presumably you have not unlocked the bootloader, or obtained root access, right? It could be that your provider just hasn't gotten around to getting the update to it's users yet (as is the case currently for some providers in NZ, but not all). Your android version is the lastest iteration of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) just before Jelly Bean http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_version_history#Android_4.0.3-4.0.4_Ice_Cream_Sandwich_.28API_level_15.29
Didn't even notice the custom ROM, DOH!
Titanium backup your apps and data, save onto PC, flash back to stock ROM, flash back to stock recovery, update software, flash custom recovery, create nandroid backup of new stock setup, check for custom ROM that supports the new JB and flash it (if you screw this up you'll appreciate the nandroid backup), see if you can use your Titanium backup to restore your apps and data.
Do these fastboot commands
Fastboot oem readcid
Fastboot getvar version-main
Lets see what we can do !

If you follow us the chance of breaking things are very . . very small
Oke install the HTC drivers
http://db.tt/gXVxa3Dp
Download these fastboot files
http://db.tt/ldx3qOOU
Put the fastboot files in a folder like this
C;\fastboot\fastboot files from my link
Now hold the power button and the volume - button together untill it restarts into the bootloader. Don't let go of the two buttons untill you are in it !
Connect the phone to the pc and check if you see on the phone
FASTBOOT USB
then open a command prompt inside the fastboot folder on the pc (right click in the folder and open command prompt here)
Type this
Fastboot devices
If your serial pops up its good and then you also do the 2 other commands i gave you a post earlier
Edit: the chance of damage is so small because there is no s-off for our devices. Practically the only way to brick the device is if you flash stuff that is not ment for out HTC one x !
yes i performed all 3 commands but first tell me how to reopen my cell from fastboot usb
You can type
Fastboot reboot
Or unplug the cable and navigate with the volume buttons to REBOOT .... maybe you have to press HBOOT once to see the REBOOT option on screen
Confirm with the power button the action you choose
What was the outcome of the commands
ok what i get
fastboot devices
ht241w125067 fastboot
oem
<bootloader> debug: cid: htc__001
okay <0.016s>
finished. total time .016s

should i perform again ???
Download this RUU
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
charge the batt to 100% before you start this
Put the phone in fastboot usb mode and open the fastboot prompt on the pc, relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
Keep the phone in fastboot usb mode with the locked bootloader and right click the RUU.exe file on the pc and select
Run with administrator permissions (or a similar option)
It will flash your phone to completely stock ICS android. Then you can manually check for the JB update and install that too !
Note : it will wipe the entire phone. Do backup things if you need it !!!!
1. i accidentally wiped my internal SD and have no ROM on my phone
