4.1.2 broke tethering - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I can't get the solution from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121897 to work. Anyone have better luck? I'm about to go back to 4.1.1

Wait a few days and upgrade your account, the new plans should all have tethering except the unlimited, that requires extra money for tethering.

They haven't updated the business pricing yet. We have about 9 lines and some of my techs have tethering but the rest of us do not since we use it so infrequently.

Free Wirless tether?

Is it going to be possible on the VZW Nexus?
Dude read. This thread has been made like 3 times today already.
No, its not free by default. Gonna have to root and remove VZW's tracking software, or load a custom ROM.
Sorry I am a Newb. So how would I remove the tracking software after root?
Thanks for the help I think

[Q] How can I enable tethering on Stock ROM

I like the stock ROM, and I'm trying to figure out how to root it now (browsing threads looking for the easiest to follow method) but I'd like to know, once rooted, how can I enable tethering? I have unlimited data, and don't want to switch. I rarely use tethering, but I like the option. Thanks
Your signature suggests you are using a Verizon S3. Do you also have an at&t model? If not, check out the Verizon S3 boards for better support and the correct firmware and mods.
Ah derp. I have AT&T now using a plan that was grandfathered. I'll fix that

Which ROM unlocks mobile hotspot? I still get the tmobile login page. Prepaid.

Just flashed to Jedi Master and it still tries to get me to login. I'm on prepaid so I don't get mobile hotspot for free.
I'm on Jedi master 13 and the hotspot works fine.

I'm on pre-paid and I get it for free, no problems here, like in the past. I'm using the stock rom.
You don't get the tmobile login page when you try to get online with other devices?
How are you guys accessing it. Just using the pink icon? Well, either way it doesn't work.
Also, prepaid isn't supposed to have tmobile hotspot with paying the extra $20. You need the $50 post-paid plans.
Kernel version is 3.0.75-saberkernel_22.4
build number: jedi master 13
Trying to access web directs to tmobile's login site and you can't login because it's so slow.

I have no issues with hotspoting on the $30/month plan, did a couple of gigs while hotspoting earlier this week. I'm using N7105 firmware, latest TMobile modem and Saber Kernel 23.

Listen to this I called tmobile the other day for a billing question and was offered tethering of 500mb for 1 dollar extra on my plan....kinda nice. I never even use more than 500mb for tethering because if and when I use it it's just opening up websites

Can we use N7105 firmware on this SGH T889? If so any leads how to do that?
Won't that brick the phone?

[Q] Native Tethering

I enjoyed the native tethering on the custom roms for the S3, do you guys think we'll have it for the S4 down the road?
Just curious everyone's thoughts.

Try the link below works for me I am on a stock ROM and it is working fine as it did on S3, I don't know if T-Mobile can detect this but I am sure they will if a large amount of data was used, do it on your own risk.

I told folks on xda beginning of this year that AT&T would hold off the release til after the S7 to push Note users into upgrading for marshmallow. People said I was being too negative. Now it's almost Memorial Day.
