I like the stock ROM, and I'm trying to figure out how to root it now (browsing threads looking for the easiest to follow method) but I'd like to know, once rooted, how can I enable tethering? I have unlimited data, and don't want to switch. I rarely use tethering, but I like the option. Thanks
Your signature suggests you are using a Verizon S3. Do you also have an at&t model? If not, check out the Verizon S3 boards for better support and the correct firmware and mods.
Ah derp. I have AT&T now using a plan that was grandfathered. I'll fix that

You don't search or read that's what!!
I'm talking about native wifi tether. I'll work on getting it unlocked if no one else ha done it so far. I'm not talking about using Foxfi or any other third party crap. I have not found a thread or room in the att section with native wifi tether unlocked.
Why don't you be useless and tell me to search again....

I thought foxfi don't work right now unless somebody modified from xda or they came up with ics fix ???
I want to root and enable native tether or not root and use foxfi
I don't want to use custom rom since I may break my device

He doesn't know that foxfi unlocks the native tethering but has its own GUI it uses for settings and sets its own name as the hotspot. Or for everybody's info that's how it works lol.

ROM's don't break devices...People break devices.
I've never had a rom ruin my device but I have seen where people have bricked their device because they didn't know what they were doing . I have even heard of people flashing roms for different phones on to their own... Ya, it does get comical around here. lol

correct rom don't break your device but people do. but changing rom makes you break device if something goes wrong. i had captivate and i used to load rom easily without issue using clockwordmod recovery. one day i loaded cyangenmod rom and try to load other rom after that and my device never boot up and keep rebooting . cyangenmod changed my boot logo from samsung to cyangenmod and i cant even goto change my device out under warranty.
Foxfi does work now with 1.95 version i guess fix is out and as long as it unlocks native tethering in background then i dont need anything now. i m happy.:laugh:
That sounds like a simple boot-loop, if the phone appears to be continually rebooting and not loading the OS. Maybe not bricked at all...

For anyone having issues reading this, here's the English translation:
AT&T ROMs work on T-Mobile phones
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987023
I flashed this AT&T ROM, and it works. You just need the T-Mobile modem. If you want to use JellyBean "gap," just look for and install it. My Internet is too slow; it doesn't let me search for it to include the link. Sorry guys. Just letting you know that AT&T ROMs work on our phone. Be safe and back up first.
Now, as far as this post goes, I'm not sure why it was posted in the first place, seeing as the same ROM is available natively on the T889.
1. Lmao
2. Thank you for that.
3. Is this really the case? I thought I read that several of the Roms for the AT&T note were not compatible with the T889.

Well actually to be fair, the OP posted this before that ROM was available in the T889 forums (and it's actually not native for the T889, it's the same exact rom that was first posted in the AT&T section and it's from an AT&T build)
But yes it does work on our T889's fine! I'm using it now, it's flyin

Hi could someone guide me for the late stock tmobile, that have wifi calling, mutiview, with tether hack:good:
Thx for your time
There are tons of Touchwiz based ROM threads all over the forums that offer all the features you're requesting and more. Just need to look and read. Need a small boost in navigation? No problem. Just start under the "T-Mobile Galaxy S3 Android Development" forum. You'll find most of them there. They're impossible to miss. Just be sure to read more as you go on bud. Google is also a great source for searching on topics you're having trouble trying to find answers to
Good luck.

I was not correcting you, because your information was accurate. I was simply stating that he will not be able to get everything he requested in one rom.

As far as I know we don't have a rom with all that working.. If I remember correctly I was told that the only way for us yo get multi window working is with a port which means WiFi calling wouldn't be working since that's a T-Mobile only feature.
Thats what I believe I saw earlier this month. Correct me if I'm wrong
