For some reason I can't install DT A2SD on 4 kornerz OC"d jb rom. After I flash the Rom I flash gapps, then a2sd script. Then I download the a2sdgui and it says it couldn't be activated because of the following: Your device isn't rooted, 2: a2sd scripts couldn't be found, 3: no ext partition could be found. Now I updated my sd card all the way to ext4. I'm using smelkus recovery. Ago far this is the only Rom I've had a problem installing a2sd on. This is also my first time trying out JB

I had the same problem. In the rom thread aheeejd used jmztalor's a2sd zip to get his to work. Which I used and it worked fine for me. Try the dtapps2sd zip here.
Still doesn't work

Did you try to run in terminal? If not. Open terminal.Type su. Then a2sd install. See if that works.
Says a2sd not installed
Not sure why it's not working. My sd card is partition to ext4 as well. This is what I did. Made a nand of my current setup. I wiped everything but sd card. Flashed the rom. Then flash gapps. Rebooted. I set up my google account. Let it sit a bit. Then booted back into recover. Wiped cache and dalvik and then flashed a2sd zip. Reboot. Then did the install in terminal. And was working fine. Hope that helps.

I saw a thread that someone said you can infact flash Data2SD on a stock rom. I tried doing it by reinstalling 2.3.5, installing custom recovery and then flashing Data2SD with app2SD remover, but it didn't work. Can someone please help me out with getting Data2SD working on a stock rom? I'd rather not use a custom rom if I can help it.
Hi, you can force apps to install to SD without rooting phone. You need adb shell. Run cmd as admin and run adb shell. Type pm setInstallLocation 2 and press enter. Everything you install will be moved to SD
This works, but not quite what I was looking for. I typically use App2SD for that. What I want to do is partition my SD card and use it as my internal memory.

The stock rom won't support an Ext4 partition if that's what you are using.
The kernel will support an Ext2 partition though.
Hope that helped.
So if I manually partition it using ext2, it will work? Would I have to reinstall the stock rom over again and then apply data2sd for it to work?
I tried making a ext2 partition, wiping the phone clean and then applying jikantaru's Data2SD w/ App2SD Remover but it did not change the internal memory. How can I make a stock rom have more internal memory by using Data2SD if possible?
anyone has something to add?...
Noob question. I'm currently running Express 3.4.1. It supports a2sd but when i check my internal storage it keeps going up after every app install. I did partition my sd card and can check it many different ways. SO what gives?
You can go into a terminal program, run:
su
a2sd check
a2sd reinstall
and that will move all your apps to the SD Card
This is interesting. Version 2.7.5.2, which is older. The check indicates that apps are going to sd. But when I try to to do the reinstall I get an error, something about a2sd not running on boot.

Yes, you need to flash the script again for a new rom.
Even when it says it's baked into the ROM, I still flash A2SD in the same recovery session as the ROM
Once u flashed the a2sd zip file open your emulator and do the following comands
su
a2sd cachesd
Phone well reboot
Now erase the emulator and re download because it well stop working after u run the command but re download it and open it again now type the next set of commands
su
a2sd datasd
Phone well reboot
And thats it u should have all the free memory you need just make sure u have your sd partioned before doing this or it wont work

Hi, I recently partitioned my SD card and moved all my apps to it.
Now I want to flash a new rom, but when I boot the new rom and use link2sd, my apps aren't there.
They are on the SD EXT partition and link2sd shows their MBs.
How can I restore my SDEXT to my new rom without wiping SDEXT and restoring and relinking from TiBu?
Thanks.

Make sure the Rom you have installed has app2sd installed and you have the right ext for your Rom version
new rom must support a2sd. if it does but isnt pre installed you may have to flash dt's a3sd when you load the rom... then after you flash the new rom open terminal emulator and type: su(enter) a2sd reinstall(enter) you will see a2sd do its thing and then your phone will reboot. you will need to also use tibackup and do a batch restore of your apps and data. This is how i do it. You may also want to download from the market, apps2sd gui. its really not that hard or time consuming.
when you partitioned did you upgrade your sdext2 partition to sdext3?

Thanks for the reply.
My partition is Ext2, I have not upgraded it.
I have been using the app Link2sd ( http://anonym.to/?https://market.android.com/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD )
Any idea on how to restore with that?
sorry bro. no clue. i recommend darktremors a2sd. most roms support it and have it preinstalled just incase here is the link to it.

Love this rom, but having a problem.
I installed the a2sd script and now when I download certain apps it reboots and stays on boot loop.
I have to pull the battery and go into recovery to restore but the zip is no longer there, it is wiping the zip from the SD card so I have to reinstall it !!!!!
I tried installing the rom without the script but then run into low memory problems.
Any ideas please

What hboot are you on? Which Sandvold did you install 0.7 or 0.8? What install options did you choose?
On stock hboot:
Do a full wipe (not SD), flash again , choose either stock (a2sd (typical install) or amarullz (custom install)). If you chose a2sd then after install open terminal and type:
su
a2sd install
Yes on move Dalvik-cache
No on move App-data
Yes to reboot
The stock a2sd and the amarullz have been tested stable on stock hboot, there seem to be more issues with CM7r2 hboots.

What is this particular a2sd script? I am assuming your already created a partition FAT32 (Primary) followed by 1/2 gb ext4 partition beforehand.
Also I never seen anything that deletes the rom in the sd card. Perhaps you are formatting the sd card in recovery.
I would advise to change hboot to stock, do full wipe(wipe/factory reset, wipe cache+dalvik, system, data and sd ext). If you choose custom install, and got sd card class 4 or above, then I recommend you don't go for the stock a2sd, you are much better with Amarullz.
Some things to check :
- check your partitions' alignment (from recovery)
- did you reply 'n' when a2sd script asked you about moving data to sd ?
- did you change your governor to conservative (assuming you're on stock or tobby_d's kernel ?)
I met that kind of behavior usually just after a fresh install when I forgot about 2 last steps mentionned above.
Thanks so much guys for your help.
I was on version 0.7, and with Y to app-data to SD. I have installed version 0.8 and followed all your instructions and all seems well.
Thank you again very much
Hi all!
I just created an sd-ext partition (ext4) on my sd-card and flashed the INT2EXT4+ script, but it doesn't seem to work.
What I did:
- Go into recovery
- Mount /system
- Installed the INT2EXT4+ script from my sd-card
- Formatted the sd-ext partition
- Rebooted my phone
I've done this a couple of times, but I still have the same amount of internal memory as before I flashed the script. (Before using this script, I tried using Link2SD but that had the same problem..)
And yes, I have init.d enabled and busybox installed and the script is located in the init.d folder.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Btw, I'm using Maclaw's AOSP ICS Final 2.

Try partitioning in CWM. I got S2E to work on CM7 in this way.

I tried the script/app without repartitioning my SD-card via CWM (I did it via Minitool Partition Wizard, so I didn't have to format my sd-card first) and it still doesn't work.. Should repartitioning via CWM fix the problem?
And btw, in the app description it says "Works on Cyanogenmod........". Since I'm not using Cyanogenmod, this app shouldn't even work, right?
Sorry if I'm being dumb now... :/
Sorry but I don't know if it works on CM rom. Others may know the answer.
I also tried Minitool Partition Wizard but the phone didn't relaize the partition. Then, I tried CWM and it worked.
