Hi All,
I am hoping someone can help me out. I installed the mymiui 3.1.25 ROM on my Telus Galaxy Note 2 but I the home button doesn't work and I can't figure out how to fix it. Can anyone assist?
Thanks
You probably installed gapps right after installing the ROM. The instructions say to flash the rom, then su, then reboot. After you've booted into the rom and set it up then go back to recovery and flash gapps. Make sure you're using the ones from the op of the thread.

hello,
can someone please provide the procedure to install Virtuous Quattro on desire HD or a link to it ? is there a need to install any specific Radio /kernel? my HD is on default Radio, but custom MIUI ROM
How to:
Hi as you have a custom rom already it makes it simple as you are already rooted.
1 - Download the ROM and place it on the root of your microSD - Link for the Virtuos Quattro thread
2 - Also Download the Kernel to correct WIFI issues - Link and place it on the root of your microSD
3 - Power down your device and enter on recovery mode by holding volume down and power button at the same time. As soon as it prompt press volume up in 5 sec.
4 - Before flashing the ROM you will have to, for safety, make a backup of your existing ROM. You will find the option in the Recoverymode;
5 - After the backup do a FULL WIPE and it is very important to do in all data, cache and Dalvik (found in advanced options);
6 - Now install zip from MicroSD and look for the ROM.
7 - After installing the rom reboot the system - After rebooting power down into recovery mode again.
8 - Install the Kernel you download following the same procedure of item 6;
9 -Once again Reboot and enjoy.
I am not sure but I would try to avoid using any kind of app and data backup. Start from screch (I did it and had absolutely no problem).
If you like the instructions just click on the thanks button
Turner!
hi Turner,
thanks for the instructions,
apart from installation of the fix for the wifi, is it needed to install any other kernel for this ROM to work? If so, at what stage the kernel (not the wifi fix) should be installed ? also, is it again like step 6 for the installation of the kernel?
As far as I am concerned you wouldn't need any kernel prior for the rom.. I came from stock to android revolution to cm 7.1 and then virtuous. I didn't install any specific kernel prior to flashing virtuos rom and it worked great.
Try flashing and then comeback here telling us the results.
A quick question: did you flash any kernel before the miui rom you have?
i haven't flashed any kernel or radio before, but have been flashing different ROMs. was bit confused when i read somewhere that for virtuous ROM you need to flash a kernel. Anyway, thanks for your feedback. Let me try as per the steps mentioned by you and see the results..
User30 if you're like me and uncounter a little problem with the Wifi not working or the sound not working either, here's a little trick;
1. go get the .zip here : dev-host.org/k8rsgpxf5o2y/lordmodUEv8.8-ICS-BFS-b7.zip
It's lord kernel, really nice and work fine.
2. Put it on your SD card, *don't extract it*
3. you'll need to clear the cache when you're in the clockwork on ace hack.
4. Install the .zip using the same way that you install your ROMs
if it didn't work here's the modification
1. get the .zip of the Kernel and the one of the ROM
2. Put them on the SD card
3. Make a FULL wipe and be sure to Wipe the cache too
4. Install the ROM.
5. Install the Kernel
6. Everything should work perfectly
I had some problem with some Kernel, no idea why. The one I just gave the link to is working perfectly and didn't had any problem with it. p.S if working with Virtuous Quattro, install the RC1 for now. There is a bug on the wifi on the RC2 and I think they are currently working on it.
Sorry for my bad english btw.
Radio update utility is present in ARHD 6.3.1 thread....hope this will help you to update the radio...i updated with it without any issues..

Hello
1-Why is the picture quality of the Contact, is down?
2-No setting For Gallery ... Why?
Are you speaking about the Virtuous RC1 or RC2. Since it's a RC version and not the complet version it's normal that some stuff ain't working or are bugging.
But as we speak there's more likely some people of the Virtuous working on the rom itself so I guess some of those will be fixed. If you want to keep information about the dev go in the thread about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428047 you'll see all the update you need to follow
So I went and used the app from twistedumbrella here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192064
Got everything to work other then the gapps for the 2nd boot after trying both the live install and a flash from recovery and using the app twice to write the .zip
So my question is what if anything am I doing wrong to not get the google apps or gapps to install to the 2nd rom/boot
I am using xylon latest official 2.2.1 and the latest cm 10.1 official nightly for today can boot into my normal xylon and fully working boot to cm10 works but nothing but native apps.
So if some one could either point out my mistake or point me in the right direction I would much appreciate it.
Also using the kernel

Update since I cant post again until others post..
I was able to poke around and ask a great person for some help. After a pm he sent me a link to a gapps he had working I downloaded it flashed and booted into the 2nd rom and it works so i am posting here incase any one else ran into this issue
Here is the gapps:

Awesome man, was having the same issue, I'll have to try these Gapps
Whenever I try to flash CM 10.1 RC2 or CM 10 stable they flash correctly, but when I try to flash their corresponding Gapps, it fails to open them during the flashing and aborts, so I can't finish the flashing of CyanogenMod until they work. Any info on why this is happening or a solution to help me finish the process? PLEASE REPLY!!! I really need help thanks if anybody can help me though

Since no one else has offered info yet I'll try to help. First off, have you looked for similar problems within the official thread? CM10.1 Q&A >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138101
I regularly flash rom's and boot up without gapps to test drive first, then once I'm ready to do so I reboot into recovery and then flash the gapps package. What recovery are you using to install everything (TWRP or CWM)? Are you certain it's the corresponding gapps package (Jellybean vs ICS)? Are you following wipe procedures (cache/delvik)? Check out the thread in the link above and search through it ... good luck!
I figured it out now, but thanks anyway I really appreciate that you were willing to help. It was simple really. The Gapps didn't download completely, for some reason it would only download about 10mb out of the 91, probably because of the Internet connection.
Hello! I have managed to root my phone, but I got the set up wizard message and the gapps error. After a google search it told me I had the wrong version of gapps. However, when I go to the official gapps page, the download for cm 10.1 only works with 4.2.2 and not 4.1.2. The one for cm 10.0 is for 4.1.2, but on the hercules downloads page, the 10.1 stable release is already out (that's the one I used!). Does this mean I have to run 10.1 without gapps, or downgrade to 10.0 if I want gapps?
Trust me, I have searched for this. Any help would be appreciated.
if you are on 10.1 grab the first one on the page http://goo.im/gapps also double check make sure you have no market installed if you do then you dont need any gapps install everything from the market
Alright
Ok, I'm gonna try that. +1 thanks for you. Man, I'm such a noob. :crying: :crying:

It's circling now...it's been at it for about 5 minutes now...the wait is unbearable!
Circling
It appears to have no end to the blue circling boot screen. I tried clearing cache and factory reset using CWM, no cigar still. Any fixes for this?
The CM version is the 10.1 stable release for hercules.
The gapps version is the 20130301 version.
which link did you flash for the CM what thread point in the right direction where you flashed from ? if you booted up the first flash and gapps were incorrect it shouldnt matter when you update the gapps it wipes the old files just make sure to wipe dalvik/cache and reboot
My Idiocy
I am retarded. I decided to go and unroot the phone and flash a stock rom and try again. I then flashed twrp via odin (which I prefer now) with no problems. But for some reason, no matter how many times I clear everything and try different kernels, the device will just not root. I have tried the superuser zips from the official site, I have tried the superuser from CWM's site, nothing works. Gah. Now what? Am I stuck stock forever?

Just use TWRP to flash whatever (Hercules) ROM you want. Make sure you wipe dalvik, cache, system and data.
Alright, I will try a wipe again, and then flash a custom ROM. If it doesn't root me I will report back with the situation. Thank you for all your help!
Um, just another question before I proceed with wipe and rom...if the ROM is based off of JB 4.2.2, such as Cyanogen mod, will my phone just run 4.2.2 as part of the rom, or will it be incompatible?
EDIT: Never mind...
I love you all forever. It works, and I have gapps running and root access. Thank you so much...I really don't know what to say.
I recently rooted my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3 using odin. I loved the features, I flashed the ROM CyanogenMod and had that working just fine. Until just recently I made the mistake of installing a new ROM. I used ROM manager and decided to go with stratatak7 . Now after doing this, my phone has been downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1.1 and is not running properly and crashes. So I went back into ROM manager and tried to get CyanogenMod back, but am unable too, every time I try to install I get an error. I am looking for ANY way to fix this. I mainly want to get my phone back to COMPLETE factory settings and Android 4.3. Im currently running Build Number Intergalactic 2.5.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Step #1 - Dont use ROM manger to install roms.
Step #2 - Flash back to stock and start over. If you need help with this there are stickies all over the general and q&a sub forums.

All by itself? Or did you manage to flash back to stock? If so the fix is to boot into recovery and factory reset. Also note it will take a little longer to boot after a stock flash (or wiping the cache) as the cache needs to be rebuilt.
