Very bad data - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am rooted using tweaked 1.5 perseus kernel and twrp. Have always had great speed speed with everything ive done on my note2 however after flashing some of the themes that are compatible with tweaked rom all of a sudden cant download anything at all including playstore apps. Wifi works perfect. Now im not saying the themes are the issue just a coincidence. I'm in the ann arbor michigan area. My imei and all settings seem intact. Ive reset my mobile data and all the basic crap. Has anyone got any insight on any settings I might have overlooked that may be causing these issues. Web pages load but no downloads whatsoever. Thanks in advance

How are phone calls? Bill paid?

Unlimited....just cant find the problem

Does the download status bar in notification just not work. I'm nit sure what rom or anything it was I don't remember but I was having issue where I thought I couldn't download but it was just the download status bar looking that way. My downloads were actually working fine if I used a file explorer I could see they were actually working.

When everything else fails, factory reset/wipe caches/reflash rom(or find updated version)/etc/etc/etc
Try to start over clean, if you haven't already.

I thought about doing a complete reset back to stock ,triangle away to get rid of modified status. Now that includes factory reset with stock recovery. Wont that wipe my phone completely including my backups and titanium app backups? Thanks again. When I try and download the download bar does the whole squiggly line thing never a percentage going up notification. Again I'm on tweaked 1.5 with the perseus kernel and twrp recovery.

Rooted, Now Shutdown Gets Stuck at Pink Goodbye Screen.

Hi all!
A few days ago I rooted my stock T989(ICS) using the galaxys2root method and everything went well. The only issue I ran into though, when I turn off my phone normally (hold power then shutdown), it will get stuck at the pink goodbye screen (as did about 3 others in the comment section of the GS2Root website). When I was unrooted, turning off the device normally, it would hangup a bit at the pink goodbye screen as well, only for about 30 seconds at the most though. In this current state, I've ran this over 5 minutes and it still stays at the pink goodbye screen.
I didn't see this to be too much of an issue since I use notification toggle, which has a a restart and power off toggle that I can access in the notification bar for rooted users. But last night I didn't charge my phone so it was dead when I woke up. The thing is, it was hot. So I'm thinking it got hung up on the pink goodbye screen until the very last drop of battery left. So it just worry's me in the long run if it happens again here and there of affecting the battery. It showed 0% when I plugged in to charge and did take a while to go past that number.
Some background:
-Completely stock rom and kernels (know nothing about flashing/intimidating to do for me as I don't want to ruin anything)-slowly looking into it though
-Only rooted because I wanted to save some game data.
-I've already done factory reset but it didn't fix the issue.
Hopefully any input will help out others with the same problem as well!

Darkside Cache Wipe always fixes my issues. It's said not to use CWM fix permissions or cache wipes. Using the Darkside also aligns your card.

Thanks guys! So DarkSide it is then.
So in order to do this, it's essentially just like rooting, right?
This is how I'm thinking of it based on GS2Root's video:
-Boot into clockwork mod recovery
-Install zip from sd card
-Choose zip from sd card
-Find DarkSide Cache Wipe in where ever folder I put it in (which I finally found the download link and hoping this is the right one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955)
-Choose the zip and apply.
-Done?
Are these the right steps? Or is there anything special after and/or before that I need to do? Don't have to install the DarkSide rom beforehand?
Also, would I ever need to uninstall this for an update? I just read somewhere on my drippler app that t mobile or samsung will provide a future update for bug fixes, but not jelly bean.
That's correct steps then just reboot. It's a script that does what cwm should do plus more. It will wipe both cache partitions then properly fix permissions. It's not installing anything so it won't effect any future updates. Also doesn't matter what Rom your on, it's not specific. Just a fix for cwm not working correctly.

I was having the issue with the phone hanging on goodbye screen and not shutting off. I ran the darkside wipe now hung on start screen. I'm fairly new can anyone help please.
darkside wipe deleted your rom and its data... thats what its designed to do.... do you cant go past the start screen because there is nothing to boot too... reflash your rom or get a different rom.

Did you run the superwipe as you are directed to do? it is a pretty simple process and it will not wipe your ROM.

Superwipe will in fact wipe your ROM. Cache wipe will not wipe your ROM, and will probably help with the reboot hangs.
Superwipe is for before you flash a ROM.
Cache wipe is for problems after an install.

[Q] Manual Update JB Problem...Phone is Frozen...

To start, my GS3 was rooted, had a custom recovery, but was still on stock Rom. I followed QBKing77 video today on manually installing the JB rom. I put stock recovery back on, then applied the update. It flashed just fine. I was still rooted after the flash (wasnt sure if I was supposed to be still rooted). Anyway, phone worked for a good 4 hours, checked everything out and everything worked just fine. Suddenly, the phone is frozen now. It is not responding to touch and is vibrating as if it is having a problem. Cant even unlock it. If I slide my finger on it, this green box highlights things on my homescreen. Everytime I slide my finger on it, it toggles through some of the items on my homescreen (sprint, then the clock/weather widget, then each of the short cuts on the lock screen) then starts over again. Each time it vibrates as well. Cant unlock the phone and I am just stuck...HELP PLEASE???
Never heard of that one before. Pull the battery and reboot?

I was going to try to unroot and odin back to stock ICS using the tar file... Thoughts? I figured regardless of what I am on, I can always go back to true stock by odin-ing back using the stock tar... right?
ya that works too
I figured it out now, for some reason, in settings, accessibility, "talk back" was on, this caused the entire phone to not respond act semi frozen... I somehow got into settings by trying all sorts of things (swiping, double tapping, pinch to zooming, etc), and was able to turn it off...now the phone is fine. I am not sure why talk back would completely change everything and freeze the entire phone up. But I would not select that feature and turn it on...the phone literally felt unusable. I was 5 min away from odin-ing back to stock tar before I found this issue...
I would say skip the bs and just Odin back to stock. If this doesn't fix it, it's beyond software.

Google Map/GPS Broken

My GPS doesn't lock anymore. I think it may be something with the phone itself because I've tried more than four different ROMS and it searches for GPS/location on all of them.
I am using the latest Pacman AOKP ROM as my daily driver. I tried another GPS app (telnav) and I got an instant lock. I also tried the GPS fix app but that didn't help.
Does any one know what might have gone wrong or have suggestions on how to fix it. Thanks

Heres wat I did.
Went to settings > Application manager > ALL > Maps
Cleared Cache
Cleared Data
Uninstalled Updates
Then Unninstalled Maps
Rebooted and installed Maps from the market.
Enabled the GPS
Started navigation and it worked just like it should.
Good Luck!

Actually I was in AOKP and then I flashed the latest version of Frosty, but my GPS was working after that. Then I flashed a few different Kernels to see which one worked better. I flashed Ktoonsez first, then Deviant, and finally I settled on Xone Kernel. It was then that I realized my GPS didn't work. So I'm not sure what messed it up.

A issue i only experience on aosp roms no matter which one

no matter which aosp rom i use i have a issue where i totally lose data connectivity and it won't come back on. I have bars but no data it's like i toggled data off but can still get text and calls. the only thing that brings data back is a factory reset. I travel alot driving from city to city ( work for the railroad) so i go through diffrent bands while traveling it seems that while switch it like forgets to go to the next band sometimes. This doesn't happen all the time but it happens enough to warrant this post. when i try to toggle on and off with the pull down menu it still says att in the toggle box even though there is no data symbol by the bars in the notification bar. when i try to toggle the "att" in the toggle box never goes away.... when i go to the settings and toggle it that way it indicates off and on but still is off.
my question is this wheni go to titanium back up is there a program i can wipe data on to reset my connection?? since a factory reset cures the issue then i'm sure wiping whatever program that is hanging will cure the issue also so i don't have to keep factory resetting
this is a issue it no matter what aosp based rom i'm on.......cm10 aokp orca rom toolbox all of them i'm tried all and they all do it.

I know this issue isn't widely reported on but it's probably because there aren't many people that re driving out in the boonies like i do when headed to work and back. i'm sure if i was on a flight it would be different. but its a obvious issue with this device. it has happened on a couple of them for me. but only on aosp roms and not tw based roms

Like most have always said never restore with data or system apps. Push them to system yourself and honestly I don't even use titanium backup anymore... just install again but I only install 15-20 apps at most.

No Data, How To check apn settings

so i rooted and flashed my moms phone for here. though now i cant get data on any rom i use. Ive tried Cm10, domination, and now liquid smooth. the 3g icon is there and the data activity indicator is blinking the up and down arrows, but the signal bars remain gray with no data. im currently on liquid smooth trying to figure out how to get to my apn settings, but there is no voice dialer app to say "open apns" to. yea i did flash a ics modem (FB15) and im really hoping to fix this quickly, so she can stop flipping out.
before i gave this phone to my mom and jumped to tmobile with a galaxy s4, ive never had problems like this. Also when i had this phone, voice dialer was on every rom, so forgive me for the noobish question of how to get to the apn settings. also, if you can post the current apn settings sprint uses, that would be helpful
EDIT: Flashed Revolt, data still doesnt work but it had voice dialer. opened apn settings but everything seemed fine. but i would still like for someone to post the default apn settings just so i can make sure
Edit 2: with having no luck, odined back to stock. data works fine. will keep stock unitll the issues are resolved

Try putting TW on for your mom. If she likes the feel of stock, she'll love the custom feel of some of the roms out now. And before you flash CM(I recommend dastin1015's Wild For The Night), flash FL24 modem, update prl and profile. See if that helps. And it will have voice dialer too .

but it wasnt just cyanogen mod, it was every AOSP rom i used. and im pretty sure paranoid android isnt based on cm anymore, which means it shouldnt have the same bugs. Unless the releaser of the rom for this phone merged cm10 code to make it work

It's AOSP too. I've read they have issues as well. Again, my advice, get her TW and let her customize the crap out of it.
